App switcher - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I am a cycling fanatic and using 2 apps on the bike:
-app1 for recording route, heart rate, cadence
-app2 for track navigation
Switching between apps is a bit dangerous, so I was wandering if there is some so that switches every x seconds between the apps?

[Q] Record video with screen brightness low/off -- possible?

I want to record some lectures but don't want to disturb the people behind me. I also want to record a lecture (powerpoint) in a dark room where any brightness at all is a bad thing.
Anybody know of a way to turn down/off screen brightness during video record? Even if it wasn't distracting to others in class, what an utter waste of battery to have it 100% brightness while recording...
uh huh screen off to record "lectures" lmao the only thing i can think of would b one of the spy cam apps
There's an app that fakes a dead phone by turning the screen off, I guess you could try that
Very interesting. Spy cam / dead phone apps. I'll have a peek.
I remember for the Evo 3D (Sense 3) there was an option in the camera settings where the user could uncheck "force max brightness" -- this would cause the phone to respect the system brightness (which could be set lower). Maybe the option is just hidden in Sense 4.
I would like to have this option too. Hope some one comes up with a mod....
A mod would be useful, but a quick and easy workaround would be to cover the phone with a piece of paper/notebook.
Sent from my EVO using xda app-developers app
Check out Dashboarder, it record while screen off http://shortfuse.org/?p=217

Always on Second Display

I'm really interested in this phone, mainly because of the audio quality specs. However, I'm a little apprehensive about this second display idea. If this second display is always on, does that mean it can be active in my pocket? In other words, is it possible to be launching apps or hitting the audio controls unintentionally? Also, as far as the audio controls, will it work for any audio app? I will likely want to use poweramp rather than the lg audio app.

By default it is only showing date, time and notifications. To be interactive you need to slide right/left, which is very unlikely to happen.
I have had the phone for almost 3 weeks and no issues at all.
Not to mention the phone's second screen won't be on in your pocket as the proximity sensor shuts it off. You'll be just fine man

Let also not forget, you can shut it off
If you shut it off, doesn't that turn if notifications? Messaging, email..etc.

How to get Google Maps Navigation to display a larger area on a lower res phone?

Recently switched to a LG Tribute 2 as my Ringplus GPS phone device which I keep in the car, and Google Maps Navigation is terrible compared to my high resolution 1080p phone. Biggest problem is that everything is so big, and it displays only a fraction of the map when I am driving on the Navigation mode. This makes it difficult to anticipate directions, which lane I should head towards to because the map is so limited and literally displays only at most a few minutes "ahead".
Is there anyway to get Google Maps to show a larger/more map on the Navigation mode using a phone with a lower resolution? The damn words and icons are so big!!!!!

Auto stop at goal distance

I have a Stratos 3. Is there any way to get it to stop recording my run automatically once the goal distance is achieved?
Also, is there anyway to list 0.25 km laps of my run with time data for each one?
Thanks for any info.
I found how you get short lap data. This is a very hidden feature. You have to enable "auto laps". Then you have the time, pace and heart rate for each auto lap. On the watch you have to swipe right to the route screen and then swipe down to see the laps

Question Disable adaptive brightness when camera is active

Is there a way to disable the adaptive screen brightness when the camera app is in use? The current behavior is completely screwed up as can be seen with the following simple example - on a bright sunny day outside point the camera up toward the sky. The brightness of the entire screen drops precipitously making it very difficult to see what is on the screen - not just the image, this is understandable, but also controls, histogram, etc. Then point it at your feet and watch the whole screen light up.
And while we are talking screwed up, pay attention 5onwhat the histogram display is doing during this exercise.
Update: This can be papered over well with Tasker, until the time Samsung fixes this oversight.
I created a "Routine" to change the those settings when the camera app opens, and to reverse it when the camera app closes.
Routine are very powerful, check in the settings

Yes, did the same with entry and exit tasks to set/reverse. First time I had used Tasker in at least 5 years.
