Recently, I have been finding that ROMs like SHOstock3 (and possibly others too) have been writing files to my encrypted file system /efs. After unbricking my device after using SHOstock3, it keeps asking me for the encryption password that dosent exist anymore (it just reboots, and renders my whole device as useless). I have done multiple "one click" Odin flashes, and even did a PIT and Secondary bootloader onto the phone to remove this problem.
I can run any ROM except SHOstock3 (4.1.2). I am currently running AOKP (4.2.2). Something in my efs is flagging the ROM to prompt for a cryptprop, and the only two partitions that are never touched during a full flash is the primary bootloader, and the efs (and perhaps hidden, but there would be no reason for that to be there anyways).
Ive already removed some files that were a part of the problem (such as the .files directory and the cryptprop files). I've been doing backups of my efs since the problem started.
Can someone please give me their layout of their i777 efs folder? I dont want your info, just the names of files in your efs folder.
If tons of people could do this, perhaps I can see what "non-stock" ROMs do to the efs.
Thanks
Anyone?
Below is the list of files I have in /efs. I've played with a couple different ROMs and I've done various "initializations" vias Kies, so I don't know how much of this is junk and how much of it would be in a truly stock system.
My phone is currently encrypted and I've figured out that /efs/metadata is where the encryption metadata is stored. I haven't verified it yet, but based on the behavior I've been seeing, I suspect that if init sees /efs/metadata, it asks for the password on boot.
I wiped my phone on 2013-06-22, so anything dated before that is either a remnant of previous ROMs or has a "fake" modification date. Also, I got the phone around April of 2012, so anything before that wasn't from me.

Good Luck!
So, I can assume that everyone on this list has encrypted their phones at one point (or, are currently encrypted)?
It seems that the cryptprop files were added by SHOStock3, since, it was the first ROM I ever installed on my S2, and my stock did not have these files.
And to confirm, I ended up deleting all of the cryptprop files from /efs, and they were recreated by the ROM.
Just as I suspected: I have an orphan directory named .files in my efs folder. But, It could have been generated by any of the ROMs Ive installed.
.files
.dm33
[null]
.dx1
[null]
.mp301
[null]
There used to be .dll files inside. Which, makes no sense since those are Windows system files (not Unix).
As I said in my post, my phone files are not encrypted and never have been.
My efs files and directories reflect a phone that has not been encrypted...hope this helps clarify the efs situation!...

Hello once again here is an easy install of Vendor-Arise Numbers. Go to Bliss OS repository on Github and download Vendor-Arise. Then extract zip file with ES File explorer make sure root explorer setting is on and go to the Numbers folder and copy bin folder, etc folder, lib folder, su.d folder and the Arise_version.prop. Then in ES File explorer go to device click on the system folder and click open then paste it will ask you to overwrite click yes to all. We are almost done in the system folder go to the newly pasted su.d folder then copy arisesound_setprop and dtsconfigurator_wrapper and then go to etc folder and then go to init.d folder and paste the two files in the su.d folder. Reboot and happy listening these are compiled binaries no apk the sound is incredible.
