Hi,
I am running (and very much enjoying) CM9 on my Xperia S but I do miss a couple of the Sony apps. Notes I simply restored from a titanium backup and it works so that's good but I'd really like to restore the Sony calendar app and maybe messaging. I tried a restore of those but they just lock titanium up and don't restore.
Is there any way to get them on? Can I just pull the apks out of a Sony ROM and push them to system\app?
Nope, most of them need Sony frameworks...
Hi.. I had used Sony Xperia L before and after a year it started to misbehave. Fed up of that, I backup my contacts, conversations, app data of candy crush saga, hike, instagram and some others on my memory card. Now I bought Sony Xperia M4 AQUA DUAL. I want all that backup data on memory card to be restored in my new Xperia.. But I cannot find a way to get it done. Please if anyone can help me out with this. It would be very helpful and grateful of you. Help me out ASAP.
Backup & Restore doesn't work? It should be able to restore your back up on every xperia phone. There are something should be pointed out:
1. Your contacts will be synced with your google account.
2. With conversations, I recommend an app SMS Backup & Restore
3. About app data, we can use titanium to back up and restore apps with condition the phone is rooted. But till now, rooting is still stuck, so just do a fresh installation then overwrite data with the old data may work, I'm not sure.

I'm happy to see that I'm not the only one who have this problem. I knew that Google backup was a pain but I think we have discovered that it is worse than expected!
I've done the same process as you on my HTC one : backup on google account. With my new Xperia Dual M4 (E2333 5.0) Google is not able to download all my previous backup! I've done it a lot of times but it's no works! (Tap&go is joke)
I've tried to do the process on Xperia Z3 compact (5.0.2) and it works well, idem for Galaxy Note 4. I thought the problem was about android version but I tried to restore backup on other device (by reseting all settings) BQ Aquaris E5 and it’s not work neither… I think its a random process, sometimes it works, sometimes no…I don’t know what to think about this. Maybe the next version 5.0.2 on M4 Aqua will solve this but I’m not sure.
It’s a shame that Google can’t provide a native tool backup that works orrectly and that allow you to switch between Android devices easily.Android backup and restore is really a martydorm. Apple iOS is better: all things work!
Maybe you should try CM Backup. it backup and restore main settings (sms, call, agenda etc.) but for your apps, you’ll have to download them manually from PlayStore. Or with Xperia Transfer...
Hello, I have been Samsung users for a few years. I am considering to buy the Xperia Z4.
Some users mentioned that Samsung put a lot of bloatwares on their devices. How is the case of the Xperia Z4?
For Galaxy Note Pro 12.2, we use Keis to backup the system but the software does not backup everything. We need to root the device to do it. How about the Xperia Z4? Does Sony provide software to backup the entire system (including settings, passwords) ?
Thanks.
You can try adb backup.
Software is close to Vanilla, the most apps can be uninstalled.
I can't help you with backup, all I know is that you can backup TA (DRM keys) only with root and locked bootloader. But root is only possible with unlocked BL at the moment.
Hello!
I enroll a lot of devices that we use at work.
Until now i´ve used the adb backup/restore functionality to do so..
Have been working great as it copies the homescreen configuration, adds a few homepage links needed on the startscreen and so on..
(thats the most important part of the backup)
After OTA updates and getting new devices that runs marshmallow. Old backups didnt work anymore. so what the heck.
I made a new "master" device to make the backup from.. running marshmallow..
the backup itself works.. but it doesnt backup the homescreen anymore.
tried all different combinations of backup commands.. no difference..
I need a solution. plz help
So I have an S9+ that is not able to be rooted, Snapdragon version. What is the best way to backup all my apps if I wanted to move them to another device? Obviously I can't use Titanium Backup. Helium doesn't support backup of all apps. What about Smart Switch, will it backup and restore all apps and data. Also, there is ADB Desktop Backup, but I've also heard this will not backup all apps and data as some developers disable this capability. This seems to be the one thing that Apple has over the Android devices is complete device backups with ease. Hopefully someone can help me out here with the best option to make this happen. Thanks.
