The main XDA troubleshooting forum asked me to post this in here, there is no forum for my class of devices. It's a Chinese ibaby888 iPhone 6S+ clone, but i have heard of it happening with other devices, its probably a MediaTek issue.
I have a MediaTek MTK6735 device with lollipop 5.1 rooted with Kingroot, everything works well except this happens when I try to install the regular Google app:

I've looked everywhere, no reference to error -505 anywhere. I want to install Google Now Launcher, can't without the Google app.
Thanks.

try flashing one of tbo's themed google app zips. http://teamblackedout.com Honestly, I recommend actually rooting your device. Flash stock, install latest TWRP, SuperSU, and then anything, almost anything is possible. Good luck

I would have to flash the device w/format, that way the stock Google apps would not be implanted. I have to run a code from the phone input to install GAPPs. I could refrain from doing that, leaving the Chinese stores intact- those can be deleted. But if I don't install the gapps package, many of the programs and settings are in Chinese. The main problem is installing TWRP, which I can do using a special image file I created for that recovery.
I finally finished a four month ordeal with my devices, finding the right ROMs, and a way to get a custom recovery. I was able to use MTKDroid tools which easily installs CWM. Were talking two different devices here, that device was an MT6582 based device. CWM goes in, but it is upside down. I managed to block google play updates (on the MT6735 device), but the device still runs like crap. Without GAPPs, it hauls arse.
My user partition is 2gb unless I use the Resize tweak, the max I have is 4GB. That's the main drawback. There is a resize for 6582's, but it does not run in-place like the version for 6735.
I'm about ready to just flash the whole thing again and start from scratch.
I suppose I could use Apptoide too, just to get by basic apps installed. But I have a huge number of paid apps, I like to get those from Play Store.
Oh I see what I was replying to now I was doing it Through Safari, so I couldn't see the previous posts. I actually found a solution for this but I don't remember what it was haha! that's the problem, I rack my brains finding a solution to problems and I think I have it documented somewhere so I can repeat the process, but sometimes I forget to document the procedures I used.

Hi guys,
I am currently experiencing a frustrating issue with my android device and I am stumped at how to fix it.
The device in question is a Dynavin car stereo that runs the Android platform.
I have updated the ROMS and even roll backed to older versions but this issue persists. I am now using a totally modified ROM created by a user on here for my device.

}
My issue is, every 5 or 6 boot ups of my device all my settings seem to revert to default. Well not "all" but I will explain in further detail.
When my issue arises, google maps/navigation/mail will not load, it will crash and go back to the home screen.
Google PLAY will revert to Google Market, when I log into market, it will update all google programs.
Once updated, maps/navigation/mail all work perfectly fine.
My installed programs are unaffected to the extent that they do not need updating, however, all their settings which I adjust, revert back to normal, all the dialogue boxes return, its like as if I'm running the program for the first time again.
Does anyone know what the issue could be and how to fix it? It doesnt happen all the time with every boot up but it does happen quite frequently.
When there is no issue, the system works fine and requires no updates etc.
I feel it may be something to do with the ROM? Should files be moved to the memory card to preserve certain settings? But if I do that, how will Android know where to find these files?
Any ideas, support would be greatly appreciated!
Just a suggestion, if you are flashing ROM I asume you have root access. Titanium backup and link2sd will allow you to freeze market updater (system apk) and this should prevent you from receiving market updates.

mm, dont think the device has root access.
It can be flashed by just inserting a updated ROM on a memory card which picks it up on boot up.
I may try and install something for root access and try what you have mentioned.
It's finally time for me to do what every XDA user done already - root my phone and use another ROM. I haven't ever before done this that's why I'm very excited.
I'm trying to follow this noob-friendly guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2213910 . I read it like ten times already, but I still have some questions.
1. I want to have a CM rom. Should I get Lloir's CM 12.1 or the official CM 11? The thing is, I won't be able to get another rom for almost a year and I want a quite stable rom.
2. I guess I should install the latest TWRP 2.8 recovery from this forums, am I right? But then, why on the official CM download page there is a separate "Cyanogen Recovery" file?
3. According to the tutorial, I should install SuperSu, is this the right version?
https://download.chainfire.eu/696/SuperSU/
4. The thing I'm worried about mostly - my digitizer is damaged and I sometimes get "phantom touches", I can't tap anything on screen, the only solution is screen off & on. What if phantom touches appear when I'm in recovery? From what I read most things are controlled by physical buttons (which work), but not all, some requires to swipe. What then? Can I turn the screen off or abort the process and start again?
Thanks in advance for every reply.
If you need a stable rom you should stay on stock.
1. I use CM12.1 and used CM11 before. I prefer 12.1. They all have some more or less annoying bugs -> read the threads and make your own decision
2. Use the TWRP version which is linked in the rom thread. Cyanogen recovery has less functions and is not public released for x+ afaik
3. CyanogenMod is shipped with it's own su-management app. So no need to install SuperSU
4. you can turn screen on and off in recovery
Thank you very much!
An hour ago I installed CM12.1, I may say successfully, because it booted and now Play Store is downloading GBs of apps., so I can't in fact do anything .
Maybe just one lat thing. If I'd like to install a CM12.1 update in the future, do I have to wipe everything? Or just flash the boot.img and rom and that's it?
CM says you don't need to wipe, but Lloir sometimes wants us to wipe x)
In CM12 root must be enabled in developer options btw.

So recently i started having problems with a "Settings" up appearing on the app settings that shows ads and another app (Im not sure if they are the same) called com.chunmei.calculator and the settings app keeps reinstalling itself despite 360 Security detecting and removing it also the chinese calculator app was apperantly detected as installed on the play store but it said it wasnt installed from it, i uninstalled it anyway but it keeps coming back.
These ads started appearing if i remember correctly after i installed an update using System Update and i don't know how to remove them so im wondering if ill need to flash a new ROM (AKA brick my device on accident) which i have no idea how to do or what.
My phone is a Leagoo M8 running the rebranded Android 6.0 it came with.

You must have downloaded a malware that's now installing others. You can use any of the following alternatives to get your device fixed.
1 Reinstall/flash your stock ROM and flash only the system.img since that's where the apps are installed.
2 Root your device, then you use a root explorer to locate and remove all the malwares.
3 Use a Software tool like CM2 to remove malwares.
Or visit a technician if the above can't be achieved.

1 Like i said i have no clue how to do that especially how to do it without basically wasting 100 euros on a phone for nothing.
2 I don't even know if there's a root for the Leagoo M8 and how to root it or where to find it.
3 I can't even find a program called CM2 on google search.
4 Implying my mom will let me waste her money for fixing the phone.
So why are you here, is it not to learn how to solve your device issues?

If Malware
If you have malware or any other similar then i would recommend downloading Malwarebytes Anti Malware from Play Store. It should delete the malware for you but if it doesn't work then try similar virus apps.
I have the same in a Leagoo M5 Plus, I even flashed the stock ROM several times and the malware keeps reinstalling itself. Any help?
Hello All,
I recently decided to switch to stock rom + Magisk root instead of custom + SuperSU. I also wanted to try MicroG and cut out Big G as much as possible. Everything went smoothly for the most part. MicroG settings checklist is all green. Apps working properly, including push message ones. Calendar, contacts, and stuff are syncing correctly without Google. OSM is working fine as a replacement to GMaps.
But...
My device is mysteriously writing about 2-3gb of log data each day (yes, gigabytes). This fills up internal storage to the point where I need to restore a backup from recovery (TWRP) every few days. So, I downloaded a log checker to try and find out which app was being naughty:

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Magisk pops up quite often, but I assume it's a rooted app via Magisk rather than Magisk itself? I also see "pid=3732", but when I look for a corresponding process ID in OS Monitor, there isn't one. I didn't see anything on the error types that kept popping up (1300, 1306, 1320, 1327, 1400) when I did some net searches for them. So, I'm a bit baffled on what to look for next or how to interpret the rest of the log data.
Could anybody advise me on what step to take next?
For reference, here is my device/status/info:
Model: N915D Samsung Galaxy Note Edge (Japan/SCL24)
OS: Marshmallow 6.0.1 (TWRP 3.2.3-0 via Odin flash)
Root: Yes (Magisk 18.0 via TWRP install)
GApps: MicroG (via Nanodroid Magisk Module/TWRP install)
I've done the following without any success in identifying the problem:
Disabled/debloated almost all non-essential services/apps (via OpenAPK)
Tried both v 2.0 and v 1.1 of the FakeGApps Xposed module
Tried disabling various Xposed and Magisk modules that I was planning to use (Greenify, XTouchWiz, etc.)
Deleted most non-system apps (AFWall, Nextcloud, browsers, VLC, etc.) to try and isolate the problem (i kept Magisk, Xposed, and some diagnostic tools)
Stared really really hard at the phone
Can't remember what else at the moment
If it were an option, I would just go with Lineage OS. However, none of the releases are compatible with the Japanese version of the Galaxy Note Edge apparently. So I need to figure this out, or shop for a different phone >.<
Thank you very much for reading and for any help you can provide!
FYI in case anybody's interested, problem solved (sort of) by downgrading Magisk from 18.0 to 17.3.

I Will Lost all file in my phone?
Tried Evereything! Did find the best solution. OK Google works!
I just got adb tool and drivers and removed ALL of the bloatware including the voice assistant, store, cloud you name it. I installed Nova Launcher as that seems to be very good and most like Anroid 9 Pie in terms of customisation. Romoved oppo launcher of course and reboot.
Set up Google Assistant and then you have the option in the settings with Nova launccher to have it as enabled all the time and disco!
The only thing you can't do is wake it up from locked screen with Hey or O|k google. However as soon as you have swiped in and its had a look at your head everything is voice activated. You have to occasionly choose and confirm the app mainly at first time off using that command such as which clock (I had the system and google one) for timer and alarm sets and which calender or reminders etc and same with notes. However it is just a click 1 time and then you never notice you are using an inuriating chinese variant!
You have to block everything in the settings for the remaining stock apps that you either can't delete or shouldn't.
Also I think having an Oppo ID was useful and will be if anything goes wrong. Although I'm told all the apps and everything come back after a factory reset but you never know.
I'm actually happy with the phone now and enjoy using it ffor the first tome since getting it and being sorely dissapointed!!
'll try and answer any questions but there are lists and links on here ffor the adb platform tools, drivers and commands etc as well as a list of programs safe to delete which is a little outdated as there are now more but the risky ones iI still agree are probably not worth rocking the boat with.
Not sure about other launchers but I had loads installed and Nova came recomended and seems to be unique in being able to set the gogle assistant as default because otherwise I would have found a post like this one by now sureley??
Get it done, its life changing and low risk high reward!!
PS. You can now use any widget you want to your hearts desire with this configuration and so far nothing in chinese has popped up and its ully customised to my liking and very usable!!!
