IR not working - LeEco Le Max 2 Questions & Answers

Hi there
I just bought the phone and I noticed that the IR blaster is not working.
I have installed z-devicetest from play store and it's showing up as the phone doesn't have a IR blaster.

Successfully controlling my Samsung tv with ir remote app and also some beamers in Scholl. No problems on 13s and 14s for me

Wait a minute, I'll download and test!
EDIT: Same here. Infrarot "is not working" according to the App. But I used several Universal Remote Apps, also the one preinstalled on the phone and all of them worked.

Thanks for letting me know. Same apps I use on my Samsung Note4 are not working for me in this device. Maybe it's app-related. What Universal IR did you use?

I figured it out. None of the standard apps are working (like Sure Remote, Peel, etc.) but the native one does so I will use that one.
With the native one you can record buttons from the actual remote, so you don't have to relay on them having your device brand listed.
Edit: I just read an interesting article. Seems like LeEco has blocked access for fingerprint and IR blaster from 3rd party apps, and it only works with their apps:

Why would they do such a thing?

Which App is working other than the preinstalled. The preinstalled doesnt have any of my devices and I dont want to learn all functions for all my devices?

Hey, what App are you using for recording the real remotes Signal? Didnt Work for me in one app I tested. Need this, cause my Orion TV isnt supported in those apps.
Also: I dont think they block third party apps. I use the fingerprint for Google Play paying, which is a 3rd party app for These phones, isnt it?

Do you have 14s? I have 13s... Maybe they fixed it in 14s?
I am using the pre-installed ir remote app (it's called Remote Control)

Not Working unfortunately.....
EDIT: I have installed Cuoco's ROM (based on latest version 14s) and still same problem. The IR is blocked for 3rd party...

Hey, sorry I cannot help, here to tell you that I've got the chinese rom and the infrared works fine in my phone.

The IR sensor is blocked from Le for all apps.At this point you can use only the app that came with the rom

I am doing the update to 2.91 -> 3.0 version, but don't still remain after a reboot of phone ??
Edit : i found, because i activated fingerprint lock, it's need to be disabled for update apps.

hi also have the same problem the app in my le max 2 does not list my sky HD or youview box wonder how to get these going?
the stock app does not list these.

I just did a search for you and I found youview smart box in the remote control program. Make sure you have the version 3.0. On the previous build I didn't find Samsung tv and many more. This one contains almost everything.

Rooting will not help. What I know is that only stock remote control app is working, 3rd party apps are not. So you will have to use only the stock app with IR.

App management
I found that the remote app was turned ooff . Go-to from from home screen phone manager - app warehouse see if the app has been disabled. After I re-enabled the app the remote icon reappeared and sence I installed Xposed le max fix module the 3rd party apps started working also. Hope that this helps someone.
