LG TRIBUTE 2 Development - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was looking for the entire web, and is imposible to find kernels, bootloader unlocker, valid flash methods, root options that dont brick this device.
I think this device is very very capable, and cheap, and is 1 year old.
i just want to know if people is interested in development for this phone. please somebody start playing with this little guy, nobody seems to have information about any tool to flash it... or unbrick it. just to go back to stock firmware.
IF somebody has useful software related to this device please share. .

New to android

I have a Lenovo vibe x2, i used to have windows-phones but since my last one got stolen i thought i would try androids out. Lenovo has now updated vibe X2 to the lollipop upgrade and i can't find a video or anything that will help me root my device.
Plus i have some questions about rooting an android :
1st. does it worth to do so ?
2nd. What will i get from rooting my phone
3rd. Is it dangerous cause my phone might bug and what will i need to do if that happens ?
I would really appreciate someone answering those questions and helping me with the root.
(a trustful guide and trustful files will do just great, i am computer experienced enough to make it through it's just some fears i need to "extinguish" )

I found this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yUGYK0tarBE
Although the title says Android 5.0 Lollipop but we can clearly see throughout the video that the guy is running android 4.4.2. Anyway, I've never heard of/tried kingroot so I can't be sure if its legit or not but you can give it a try.
And as for your questions:
1. Root is NOT a necessity. You can use google search to know about it and decide yourself.
2. Again you can find this by a google search.
3. There is always a risk when you mod your phone. Incase you somehow manage to brick it by that simple tutorial, I guess your device would have some stock firmware online which you can download and reflash by some kind of flashtool to restore to stock.

Newb trying to root Verizon Tablet Z2 (SGP561) from 5.0.2.

Okay, I admit, this website indimidates the hell out of me. I'm tech savy and not afraid to mess with things, but the level of new terminology here is staggering.
Anyway, now that you know I'm a wimp: I have a SGP561 Xperia Tablet Z2 from Verizon with Lollipo 5.0.2. I want to root it in order to install custom fonts on Photoshop Touch as I'm living abroad and using my tablet as my main computer while the beast lives back home.
I tried to use the Easy Root Tool but it failed. I assume this is because my firmware is too new and not exploitable as of yet, which means I have to downgrade I believe. I have found some files for flashing (?) but they aren't for the SGP561 specifically - does that matter? All I found were these for Xperia Z2 (not the tablet Z2?)
So, in the easiest language possible, can someone please give a step by step on how to downgrade my SGP561 to a rootable firmware and then flash (?) back to the latest firmware and keep root?
Please, please, please, and thank you.
Bump?
This site is frustrating as hell. Mods are quick to lock noob threads without offering help, and you're not allowed to ask questions in the areas where anyone who knows the friggin answer would ever be anyway! I have a rooted z3V running lollipop, etc, so I'm sort of familiar with the process. But developments had been made where rooting became easier.
I've been wading through endless threads filed with outdated crap trying to figure out how the hell to root my z2 tablet for 3 weeks. None of the way this stuff has been written makes ANY sense.
I'm on 5.02, and want root and dual recovery. Should be simple, right?
I don't even know where to ask the damned question anymore. I've downloaded virus filed $#!+ on my computer, thoroughly screwing it up, TWICE now, only to find I probably didn't even need that file. -Or do I? Download links are so old they don't go anywhere. Can't tell what's what here.
Even this thread ; a WEEK OLD, and no help.

You said it dude. I'm going crazy trying to figure this out. I'm pretty deflated right now and demoralized.
If I ever figure it out, I'll hunt you down and let you know. If you do, please do the same.
Regards.
Seems that you guys are looking for a quick and easy fix, but i dont think that there is one. The method that I used is found in this thread.

I followed those steps in that link. It didn't work for me.
I could not downgrade to 17.1.D.0.437. The device was either in reboot cycle or in the status of in-completed flashed after I flashed the firmware ftf file provided in that post. I had to flash the latest firmware to restore the tablet. I was glad I didn't bricked my tablet.

CF-Auto-Root for SHV-E330S, Build LRX22C.E330SKSUDOL4

I was actually wanting to post in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1980683
But it seems you are not allowed to post in that thread until you have posted at least 10 posts...which is great if you really only need to post in that one thread...
I urgently need to root the SHV-E330S, Build LRX22C.E330SKSUDOL4, that I just bought as right now it is rather useless to me...
I need to get rid of the Korean Telecom branding and make the phone understand that it is not in Korea anymore, and therefore not roaming...
But I cannot do that without it being rooted.
I checked everywhere, but I cannot find a CF-Auto-Root for that build.
I have the Recovery Image, which I was going to post in the above stated thread:
https://1drv.ms/u/s!At3VuFqpzytcgpRf36oYLgw_WPgCjA
That's a link to a OneDrive folder where I stored the Recovery Image.
Can anybody help me and possibly post a request for this in the above mentioned thread for me?
And does anybody have any further codes that allow me to find out whether I am up against a locked bootloader or not?
The codes I found so far did not work...
Or maybe someone has another idea how to find that out.
The phone has Knox installed, but it's a used phone anyway, so if warranty is void, then be it. It's one of the apps I then want to get rid of anyway.
Not sure if my phone has a flash counter.
Couldn't find out how to find that out either. Maybe someone has an idea on this one as well?
But that's only interesting with regards to warranty as well, I guess...so it does not really matter.
So, if anybody could help me in getting that CF-Auto-Root for my device and build?
And to find out whether my phone has a locked bootloader, that would be great...
Looking forward to your answers.
Kind regards,
Chris
I see there have been views. Is there nobody who could or would possibly help me?
Please?
I really need this CF-Auto-Root, but I cannot yet post in the corresponding thread.
It would be great if someone could help me out...
I very much hope that someone will have a heart and help me...
Alternatively, can anybody let me know how I can make a CF-Auto-Root myself?
Is there a program? Can I just exchange something in an existing root file?
Please, guys...I really need help...
If you have a custom recovery already, you can just flash SuperSu through it. No need for CF-Autoroot.
The bootloader won't be locked -- Korean variants of Samsung phones never are.
(also, did you try this link: https://download.chainfire.eu/493/C...-Auto-Root-ks01lteskt-ks01lteskt-shve330s.zip?)

Hi there!
Thanks for answering, and sorry my own answer comes so late, I had some internet issues now as well...what a surprise...when there is one thing, more will happen.
But back to the issue.
First of all, thanks for the info regarding the bootloader very likely not being locked. VERY good to know.
As for the CF-Auto-Root not being needed:
It might be correct that I could probably root the phone having the recovery image only...problem is, I cannot.
I know how to root with a CF-Auto-Root, that's easy enough...but without a step-by-step guide, I don't know how to root without a CF-Auto-Root....
As for the link, I cannot see which build this is for? Only which device...and as this list
https://autoroot.chainfire.eu/
which is supposed to be up to date, does not list my device with the requested build, but only with a different build, I am not sure the CF-Auto-Root in your link is the one I need.
And I don't want to completely brick my phone by using a root for a different build...
Do you by any chance have a step-by-step for me on how to root the phone without the CF-Auto-Root, when I have the recovery image?

Hello! A little help?!

Hey guys!
I recently found this forum through the YouTube channel xdadevelopers and especially because I have a question.
I tried to find more details about my phone, an Allview X3 soul lite, and I wanted to know if it is worth to root my device. Honestly, I want to root it for a couple of games or more. I know I will lose my warranty (it is over anyway) and the risks of "bricking" it.
I would like some opinions and if someone with a similar device already did it, what is the safest way to root my device (if possible, of course).
I am new to this and any suggestion or information to make me wiser is much appreciated.
Thank you!

Flashaholic here help needed

After doing little digging in , found few things about unlocking bootloader , rooting and flashing some root apps.. but our beloved device seems to be under the shackles of oem. Rooting and installing system apps comes with a price, u cannot update if there is any system updates from oem.
Created this thread hoping that someone can find some way of breaking these shackles. Anyone who knows a way of rooting and installing system apps without breaking system updates from oem, please share your ideas here.. I've been a long time flashaholic and this is what I used to do with my previous phone which is OnePlus one.
Unlock bootloader, root, install few root apps that I like such as viper 4 android. And when there is new ota updates from oem I'll flash stock firmware which will remove root so that I can update the phone with oem ota, after that I'll root again..
This seems to be impossible here.. if someone have some ideas please share..
Ps. If someone feels like this thread is unnecessary pls feel free to do the needful. Thanks.
Found this new nokia flash tool and steps with download links for stock roms.. could someone let me know if this is legit ? I'm pasting the website link here so that people can check that, pls forgive me if it's not allowed
https://raghuvarma331.github.io/Nokia-SDM660-Stock-ROMS/
Tried this myself and found that the fastboot for our device doesn't recognise the bootloader unlocking fastboot commands.. also found in few posts that earlier we were able to unlock bootloader in some old firmware and after that it was disabled by hmd.. I didn't want to go to some old firmware to do this, need to find a way to do this from Android 10. will keep trying to find more and update here.. I think we a need to wait till hmd decides to allow is to unlock bootloader.. meanwhile if someone else found something pls so share here.. thanks.

Definitely legit, he is the main developer for our device.
You are correct on the bootloader.
You need to be on earlier Android 9.0 firmware, I think Ver. 331 (not positive) or earlier. To be able to unlock bootloader. If you can figure a way to downgrade, then you can do it.
That is the current roadblock.
Once you have the bootloader unlocked it will stay unlocked.
You can then accept updates and or flash custom ROMs as you wish.
Can't offer a fix, but hope the information helps.
Now we don't need for downgrading to Android 9. XDA Senior @singhnsk has discovered a way to unlock the bootloader while on Android 10. You can reach him for remote unlock method (paid). It takes only around 15 mins.
Edit: Now the devs has released an unlocking method for Nokia 7.2 & 6.2 which is completely free and can be done by yourself!
Check out the thread here for free unlocking guide!
