First of all i start this threat because there are alot of questions about bleutooth devices that dont work on a MTCB device.
Because the bleutooth is very limeted and not all bleutooth devices work on it. i whant create a list of devices that 100% work.
pleace in your message
* what bleutooth device
* what radio
*what rom
*what mcu version
The bluetooth device I'm using is
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B019OP1IB6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Using it on a S07 Pumpkin radio 6.95" or rathe 7"
Malaysk May Rom for 4.4.4
MTCB-KLD6-V2.81
Software so far is Torque Pro, OBD Car Doctor, DashCommand, and FordSys Scan Free (have a ford..)
When I did the linkup, I stopped Xposed (un-installed), fown the mac addr of the OBD2, paired, re-installed xPosed and it just fell into place.
No idea if I needed to un-install xPosed for I used the wrong mac addr before it.. But what the heck. I really like the Dashcommand app the most. Seems to be more accurate with mpg and shows correct gas in tank and all.
Bluetooth Printer
Please Help:
My Bluetooth Device:
Star Micronics TSP650ii_bti (Bluetooth Printer)
HU: Joying 10.1 inch
ROM: MTCD_JY_5.1.1 (Malaysk ROM)
i think it has something to do with the odb version. I have a 2.1 version and its causing some trouble. Its a cheap odb2 device from aliexpress. I know there are people who are using a 1.5 version and do not have any problems. I found a threat about it on the web. http://www.incardoc.com/forum/default.aspx?g=posts&t=84#post252
this is exactly this problem i have https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PptDEADhiUU
@Roerbakeitje, nice thread to gather information, one minor comment, putting [ROM] in front of your title means mostly you are offering a ROM, so at first glance I thought you are offering a ROM which makes all Bluetooth devices work
Back to OT again, when I saw the video posted by @Tumke32, it got me thinking, because I have also problems with Bluetooth mini ELM327 device, it connects with Bluetooth but Torque couldn’t reach the car ECU and I had one of those older bigger ones, I think it is around 8 years old had to search but finally found it and tested, and funny thing is, the old one which looks like on the video is working perfectly without any hassle
My head unit is a RK3066 800x480 with latest Malaysk ROM, my car is a VW Golf Mk6 Variant, here detailed information:

Software I use is the latest Torque PRO
DOES NOT WORK
This device was working on my OEM 4.2.2. Android with MCU version: MTCB-KGL-V1.77 but with a lot problems, to get it working I had to reconnect Bluetooth and pull out and put back the OBD adapter. But since 2 weeks I have the latest ROM from Malaysk and same day I upgraded to MCU MTCB-KGL4-V2.55 from Darkleo and since then I am able to connect the OBD adapter with Bluetooth and Torque sees it but it won’t connect to the ECU.
Funny thing it is a ELM327 v1.5 adapter like the one below.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
WORKING
But it has a common housing so this is not a confirmation that all devices look like this will work.
This adapter is working fine, it is 8 years old. After pairing with Bluetooth and choosing the right MAC address in Torque it fires up and keep working.
Readings are fine too:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
DOES NOT WORK
Head Unit won’t work with any Bluetooth keyboard or things like Satechi Bluetooth Button series and anything like Satechi. The one above picture can be seen in Bluetooth scan but can't be paired like most keyboard devices, this is kernel issue from the factory on our devices, Bluetooth connectivity is very limited.

Oke, right now i have my odb2 device working. I don't know how, but i can only describe what i did. I'm using this odb2 device:
I wanted to know if i have the same problem if i connect my ELM 327 to my phone.
I disconnected the device en removed it out of the bluetooth module in my headunit. i connected it again en i tried to find the odb module in my phone (yes my phone, not the headunit). My phone found the device and i had to give in 0000 (the headunit never asks for a code). I started torque and my odb2 device was connected and working. So i tried it again with my headunit and it is working again. After a few restarts it's still working. So my ELM odb2 device 2.1 is working now.
Nice to hear that it works for you again @Tumke32, but I am bit frustrated about these adapters, read on if you have time I would say
Okay guys I am done with these cheap crapy OBD adapters, the black one I had was working since my last post, but it start to act weird today, I was losing connection and getting worked again was only possible to disconnect in the Bluetooth app and reconnecting again. I noticed that it had MAC address: 11:22:33: DD:EE:FF and checking Torque OBD2 wiki shows these adapters are not reliable. Blue one I have has its own MAC but that is not working at all with ECU connection.
Also I did a tiny research about power consumption on above adapters after my last post, maybe it is OT but if someone is interested here is a video, current draw is around 80mA on both devices, the blue mini has a jumpy current draw. It is not a lot but if you leave it connected in your car it can cause depleted battery after a week or two, when you don't use your car.
https://youtu.be/fL4rCcTz6aU
So what do we need to do?
Well I already ordered 2 another cheap ones after my current draw test, these have ON/OFF button, both are same but I am going on vacation after 2 weeks and I tried my luck on two sellers from China in hope to get them before I go to vacation, but after problems with the black adapter I am not sure if these will work without any problems.
I am talking about this adapter, these are around €5:
I lost my confidence with these cheap adapters so I started reading last couple hours, Ian Hawkins (developer of Torque) advice to get OBDLink MX or OBDLink LX, these adapters are claimed to be fastest and most reliable, these adapters don't come cheap, LX is cheaper only difference between LX and MX is that MX can access to advanced Ford and GM networks (I am assuming Ford being USA Ford's) so for me a LX will be more than enough, this is kind a life time purchase because both adapters have upgradable firmware.
One plus side of these adapters, is both have fully automated sleep and wake-up function to prevent the battery drain in your car, more information can be found here: http://www.obdlink.com/mxbt/ also check Compare tab to see the difference for both devices.
In short; I am getting a OBDLink LX this week, from an online store here in the Netherlands, I am aware that the problems we have may be caused by our head units, but someone needs to be guinea pig and I will be that.
When I receive the adapter, I will keep you guys informed, also for long term usage.
My apologies if I went way OT, but wanted to share my information and findings in these adapter issues.

I think it's great your doing this test. I was also looking for an other odb adapters myself. MrBigglesworth who's having the same head unit as me, is using this one https://www.amazon.co.uk/LUJII-Blue...4?ie=UTF8&qid=1468775769&sr=8-4&keywords=odb2 He said this adapter works on his headunit. If mine decides to stop working i will consider to buy that one.
But its interesting what your a say about the automated sleep and wake-up function to prevent the battery drain. If i don't use my car for one or two weeks my battery is dead. Maybe if found the cause of it...thanks!

Thanks for heads up
I did the current measuring on my bench just to be sure, there are mixed information about these cheap adapters and I wanted to be sure, while I was at it, made a video.
I am almost 90% sure the adapter was your battery drainer, you can calculate this, just check what Ah your battery is in the car, multiply that with x1000 put it in here where is asked for Battery Capacity, consumption is 80mAh as we talked:
http://www.digikey.com/en/resources/conversion-calculators/conversion-calculator-battery-life
If your battery was depleted often, make sure it is still in good condition.

The power led should give a quick blip every 2 seconds or so when it's sleeping. All other LEDs would be OFF.

Current draw is much lower on these adapters too, 66mA on idle and 2mA when sleeping. There are some known sleep issues with these adapters when used in combination with Torque, but it is not that common. Read this here
What about id3 music tag display via bt a2dp in the head unit?
Is that a subject for another thread or can we discuss it here? I 've noticed that almost all factory cars that come with bt a2dp have the ability to display the name of the song and artist its being played via Bluetooth paired to any cellphone, why can't be the same for rk3188 or rk3166 series?
I found on my newest Joying 7" unit that there was some xposed module causing issues. Disabled all xposed modules and I was able to pair my ELM327. I had never experienced this issue prior to this newest unit in the newest MTCD 4.4.4 malay ROM.

ok im running 5.0.2H and it has stereo bluetooth right? have to make sure of that first lol.
In my car I dont have bluetooth, I just have the standard AUX input. So I was thinking of buying some type of adapter to plug into my AUX plug on my cars headunit that can then connect via bluetooth to my G1 to play stereo music.
Can someone recommend some good devices that would help me get this done? Thanks
didn't your G1 come with a headset??? if so you can plug any normal 3.5mm plug into it and it should work fine foger the dongle thing. personally mt G1 camr with a two piece headset, one that plugged into the phone and allowed a 3.5 mm headset plug, and the earbuds that plugged into the first piece. just get a male/male 3.5mm jack and plug it into the first piece, it should work fine
yes I know I can plug a stereo aux cable into my g1 with the dongle but I dont want to. i want to connect wirelessly via stereo bluetooth
any help please?
I've got a friend who uses this dongle with his car sound system and it seems to do the job pretty well: http://www.porta-charge.co.uk/accessory_0283.html
Also try searching google for '3.5mm bluetooth adapter' and a few show up with some reviews.
EDIT: Actually I think that device I linked to is a transmitter that plugs into his iPod and transmits to his bluetooth stereo. Try googling for '3.5mm bluetooth receiver', seems there's a couple of devices that will do that for you, they seem pricey though.
Something like this, perhaps? http://www.gadgetworld.co.uk/p/Mavizen_BluDock_Bluetooth_Receiver.htm
I'm gonna get this but it the website has really slow shipping times since it's from Hong Kong...
i have this just came in today haven't had a chance to use it yet but its smallish and has decent reviews from most places
http://www.amazon.com/Motorola-s705..._1_1?ie=UTF8&s=wireless&qid=1239929599&sr=1-1
yeah godsfilth I was looking at that. can you please tell me how well it works with the G1? I was thinkign of that.

Looks good and a good price too. Pleast post how well it works when you get a chance. Are you running Haykuro?
Im interested in that too.. anyone confirm working?
So considering that godsfilth never posted his evaluation of the Motorola s705 I thought that I would. I figured the specs and price was good, it's still available for $30 from Amazon. Long story short, it works like a charm. For reference I'm now running Dudes .92 with the new radio.
The music streaming connected right away from the default media player. Play, pause, and track changes worked fine. If you hold the "phone" button it will do the voice dialing. I've always found it a bit flaky myself but that's android not the blue tooth adapter.
Once connected it basically acts as the mic and speaker for the phone. The only drawback is that the track controls on the device only work with the default media player. I use mixzing a lot, and the audio comes through fine but if i try to use the controls on the adapter it also launches the default player. I think this might be on the android side though.
Overall, it's well worth the $30.
I just got this

(mentioned earlier by amgupt01) from DealExtreme for $13. Works like a charm - PlugnPlay. Never again wired headset!
Shipped in 9 days to Sweden (from HK) - actually it arrived to Sweden after 5 days - then the Swedish Postal Service went on vacation, obviously - Not bad, considering shipping is free from DealExtreme.

I just got the s705 in the mail today. The FM receiver works just fine but the BT is a little weird. Like benmyers2941 said, only the default music player will respond to the input from the headset. But when music is playing, every now and then, the playback would pause, then immediately resume at random times. I don't have a clue why. Could the device be faulty, is it my G1, or my FW. I'm running JF's 1.5.
Edit:
I think I have figured out why it was showing these symptoms. I did a wipe and switched to Haykuro's latest and the symptoms went away. After the wipe I realized that I was also running Open Overclock beforehand. If someone could try to use this device while running Open Overclock and confirm/deny that the symptoms are present, then that would point out whether it was the FW or Open Overclock.
Nope. I don't think it's Open OverClock. I think that the device is defective. It will only do that "pause and resume" thing when I'm walking. For what ever reason I can't fathom, it worked perfectly after i made the wipe yesterday. But today, it doesn't work properly. I even put both the phone and s705 in the same pocket. I've tried restarting both while on a walk, but that didn't help. Also, I've had regular conversations on my BT125 with no problem, the same with the default earbuds the phone came with. Does anyone know how I can determine which has the defect?
Well, the usual way - Try the s705 with another phone and/or try your G1 with some other A2DP headset. Can't see any other way to find who to blame.

Hey,
Just a thanks to you guys for the headsup about the $13 bluetooth thingy from dealextreme, just got mine yesterday.
When I heard that the G1 had no 3.5mm jack I was really dissapointed.
As gadgeteer and an audiophile, I was keen to try bluetooth stereo out, but to be honest I wasn't really expecting much (I mean, the G1 doesn't even have a equalizer!)
How wrong was I! Sound quality is excellent, I truely am shocked! I could quite happily replace my Sony mp3 player with the G1 and stereo bluetooth.
This little bluetooth jack will keep me happy until the market in bluetooth headphones explodes after Apple enters the fray.
One comment though, sometimes I can hear the pitch of the audio speedup or slowdown.. not sure if this is the receiver or the phone, not too fussed about it though.
Oh, and having no wires running around your body totally rocks!
Yeah, after a few weeks, I'm still very satisfied. With my use (biking to and fro work) it lasts > one week between charges. Haven't noticed any pitch drift - but then all I listen to is .977 The 80s Channel using StreamFurious. Beats the hell out of any OTA radio station where I live!
One thing - Without using too great force, I managed to pry away the clip - and the spring just vanished into thin air! The clip was easy to put back, but now it's just dangling there. So be carfeul when "operating" the clip.

hi!
I just ordered an asus eee tab transformer for my car, as car entertainment system and navigation system. I am planing to invest some time o modify the hardware of the car to fit the tab optimately in.
One thing I'd like to do is to let the car command the tab for boot and shutdown. I am thinking of using the asus docking station interface of the tab but I have no pinout of this connector at the moment. Can anybody help here?
Maybe it is also possible to throw typical "next", "back", "play", "stop", ... commands? I am expecting an serial interface or something similar. Since I am an routined embedded developer, with a pinout this should be no problem.
The second thing is maybe a software thing.
I have an bluetooth car radio which supports one connection at the same time. The Idea was to use the Tab with bluetooth a2dp but with this connection all calls on my bluetooth phone are ignored. Is there something to establish a android to android bluetooth connection where the tap plays the roll of a bluetooth a2dp headset.
So for music and navigation:
Tab <-> CarRadio
For phone calls:
Phone <-> Tab <-> CarRadio
The other thing is, can the android tablet keep 2 bluetooth connections at the same time from the hardware point of view?
Ok, I think I wrote enough for now ^^
Hope somebody can help with any information.

Something to consider when designing.
Not sure if this is going to be a permanent install or not. But you can easily set up your audio through the Hdmi instead of burning battery with your Bluetooth. At least you can still use your phone through the Bluetooth. You can also incorporate other monitors in other parts of the car. I was speaking to a car audio shop for this type of install myself a few weeks ago. I will try to get more details and report back. Was waiting for the desktop docking station to come out to really run with it.

Bluetooth battery burn would be no problem since I want to load the battery over the car. Anyway... I'm afraid that there won't be something like a "bluetooth router" so I have to use the analog audio out. That brings me to my first question: I need the pinout of the asus connector to control the tab over the steering wheel control.
I don't think anyone's figured out a pinout yet, and even if they do, it wont be as simple as "this contact is for play, this one is for skip, etc". All those most likely go through a usb interface. Not that that would be impossible, but if you're using bluetooth your headunit should support AVRCP for sending those commands over bluetooth. Most android devices only support 1.0 right now, but that still gives you play/pause, stop, next, previous, maybe ff and rewind too.
As an embedded developer here follows one idea that maybe can help you.
Why not using all via BT, I will say you prob looking for some BT support inside the kernel. If you find a similar application using linux (google it), maybe you can ported it to the transformer. Compiling the kernel with new drivers is very easy, then u just need to get into the software part.
Have fun.

I was thinking about a similar idea. Bluetooth could be an alternative but with bluetooth it won't be possible to switch the device on. So I tried to find a pinout and maybe I have luck to command a power on. Anyway... Right now BT seems the more realistic way, you're right.

Android and the TF already support A2DP audio streaming and AVRCP remote control over bluetooth, there's nothing that needs to be done here. I'm pretty sure its only AVRCP 1.0 though, which only supports the basic controls (play, pause, stop, next, previous, etc). The newer versions also do things like metadata, so you can see on your headunit what song is playing.
I can say from experience that working with improving BT support in android is not easy after I spent a fair amount of time banging my head against the wall trying to add MAP support to CM7. In any case, without HC source it would be impossible to do here anyway.

I was thinking about a similar idea. Bluetooth could be an alternative but with bluetooth it won't be possible to switch the device on. So I tried to find a pinout and maybe I have luck to command a power on. Anyway... Right now BT seems the more realistic way, you're right.

I'd bet that there's no way to power it up over the dock connector since the keyboard dock doesn't support it.

Power it up maybe not, but wake it up certainly. If you allow the unit to be in deep sleep when you open the dock it wakes the unit. And as long as you are constantly feeding a small amount of power to it to keep it fully charged it shouldn't be a big deal. Maybe tear down a dock to provide an extra battery to the unit and perhaps the circuitry you need for wake on start of the car. I don't play with hardware so not sure what this would do but it seems it should be possible since it already does this to an extent.

Im Not sure hat this "deep sleep" is. is this the same like when i press the power button shortly on the tab or another power mode?
I have no dock and I wanted to save my money and not buy it.
[Q] a few questions about conflicting threads & info
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1) is there a working hdmi cable yet?
i have read several posts saying there isnt and several that said there is (and where to get if there is one)
2) the bluetooth audio conection to the newer stereo head units work with my gtablet, but can i have both the stereo and bluetooth gps reciever working at the same time?
any advice and info on blutooth car audio is wanted, needed and appreciated.
3) is there any way to get a screen filter or overlay to increase visibility in sunlight?
4) can the gtablet dock be torn apart and packed in a smaller case to be used in a car dash install?
p.s you guys are great for tablet manufactures whether they know it or not! i wouldnt purchase a tablet not listed and supported on this web site, period. keep up the incredible work
I can only answer question number one. Yes there is an hdmi cable that will work. http://electroniccrap.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=5_10&products_id=27. Does it work depends on a few things. Some hdtv sets it works just fine, others maybe not so much. I have 2 tvs in my house. The big one in the living room works just fine. The set in my bedroom I get picture fine but the sound only plays out of the tablet. So basically your mileage may vary. The only downside for me with this cable is it's only 3ft long so it's really short. But it works. Maybe.

Hi I just wanted to tell of my experiences of my Imacwear M7.
Imacwear is a clone of the True Smart, £130 ebay.
Well i've been using this as a phone for 2 weeks now.
The call quality is excellent on both sides. I had a TS and the call quality was very poor.
Wifi and GPS work flawlessly so does my data connection.
With light use the battery lasts 2 to 3 days. 600mah.
The build quality seems ok as well.
Love this Imacwear and in my opinion its better quality than the TS.
So if you want a TS but better try the Imacwear M7
Hope Ive helped

Windows 7 64. Imacwear M7
It looks very good.
But it has only Android 4.2 and we need Android 4.4!
If you get an Update to 4.4 please share with us.
Guess I'll add it to the ever grown list of "brands" the clone is sold under.
Podoor PW306II
Shenzhen Jingri Watch Industrial JR-WM1021
Shenzhen Esee JT01
Shenzhen Mustech Electronics M401
What about water resistant?
Have you tried it? Swimming?
Lol they even copied the incorrect specs and false promises:
1000 MHz = 800 MHz
5mp camera = 3mp (with software upscaling to 5mp if they also copied truesmart firmware)
Micro SD card slots: well i don't think it has multiple slotS, but even accessing the one microsd slot breaks all waterproofing.
IP67: even the original TrueSmart was never certified
Google Play (was never supported and was removed from the specs shortly after the kickstarter campaign ended)
etc, etc
By the way, to whom is it still cool to put a lowercase i in front of your iProductname?
OUI tested?
Hi, I just wonder you have tested to install OUI or other version of rom which posted in here. I have seen other products like simvalley has been tested with other rom but I could not find any rom tested with iMacwear m7. Kindly, advice me if you tried already.
By the way, is there any essential apps to install for M7?
Thanks,
KJ Kim

hesitating between this imacwear m7 and zgpax s8
Hi,
I'm hesitating to go either for this phone or the zgpax s8.
Anybody able to do a comparison?
Main reason why I would take this phone is that this phone is shipped with a 600 mAh battery while the zgpax only has 450 mAh. The battery on this phone is also removable.
Second reason would be that memory cards can be interchanged more easily.
Main reason why I would take the ZGPAX S8 is because it has Android 4.4 and has more interactivity on the forum. (2 pages of conversation versus 70 pages of conversation)
Anybody can share more experience for this phone:
(things I'm particularly interested in are: USB OTG, 3G in Benelux, bluetooth keyboard connectable, how long on just one charge of the battery, tried miracast, can it be woken without touching the buttons)
Looking forward to read your thoughts.

Why would you need 4.4 instead of 4.2? You are putting it ad a deal breaker and I'd like to see why, apart from of course newer Android.
Moreover I've read in other threads someone getting it delivered with 4.4.2 despite the supposed official specs of 4.2, does anybody have any update or confirmation as to the latest Android version available for the imacwear m7?

Ended up buying 2 watches
Hi,
I ended up buying 2 watches, the imacwear M7 and the zgpax s8.
the ZGPAX S8 has 3 capacitive buttons
-menu
-home/recent apps
-back
This post explains how I use the ImacWear M7 in almost exactly the same way:
-Standard feature: swipe over left border to right for menu
-Standard feature: swipe over right border to left for back (quite intuitive)
For the home/recent apps button I use the app "Multi Action Home Button" by Sylvain Lagache. It's the free version, with just one hot spot at the bottom of the screen.
On that spot there are 3 actions defined:
-tap: home
-long hold: recent apps
-double tap: switch of the screen. For this, "Multi Action Home Button" calls another app: "Screen Off" by Cheetah Mobile.
The main thing to take into account for this phone is that it is not possible to touch the buttons while it is charging.
Adding "Multi Action Home Button" allows me to configure the device while it's in the cradle. When I think I'm finished I can double tap the hot spot. When I want to enable the screen again, the trick I use is to simply switch the power supply off and on again. This activates the screen. On top of that I've activated the developer options and prevent standby when charging.
On the "recent apps" of the ZGPAX S8 there is a "brush" icon that closes all apps that recently were activated (not the background things running). It would be nice if we could enable somethign similar on the ImacWear M7 (or any other phone). Anyone knows about an app that takes care of this?
@bernsbe: on imacwear m7 try installing (upon root: very simply done manually with adb, it gives you already root access the only thing to do is to copy su binary in /system/xbin and then install the supersu or superuser apps from play store, look for details on this method in xda) xposed installer and framework. Then you will be able to load ultimate dynamic nav bar module that will allow almost all the things you have on S8 with navigation bar and perhaps even more. It has for e.g. the possibility to associate to one of the buttons in nav bar (double taps are supported as well) a kill all apps function.
As for the wake up of watch when charging in the cradle I use to do it by shaking it (your method may damage or degrade the battery if done often in the time) install one of the shake app to turn on the screen that use the accelerometer sensor. Two of the best apps for m7 are shake and awesome on off screen for that purpose. It will also allow you to watch the time by shaking the watch instead of pressing the hw buttons with the risk to loose them in the long time.

he lzwfkv, I'm happy to find someone with experience on the M7.
I've tried shake on/off on my zgpax s8 and that worked very nicely. (There is another user called smartwatchticks that has created a video from it).
So I tried the same on the M7. It shakes off well, but doesn't shake on.
Is the accelerometer sensor still active when the screen is off?
At this point there are 2 things that I could use some help with:
1) indeed starting the interface without touching buttons. (see experience above)
2) get a relacement bluetooth keyboard from an android based tablet(or phone)
I wanted to try pushbullet, but the M7 does not accept the installation of teh tool.
(I'm actually wondering if someone managed to use the keboard of a tablet as if it were a bluetooth keyboard. I would like to do more of things like what tablet talk does, but not only for SMS)
Of course I could just buy a bluetooth hardwere keyboard, but that seems so uninventive when one already has a tablet or phone that could be used as a big screen.
cheers.
@bernsbe, as for the watch wake up try awesome on/off screen or shake they work on mine both. I prefer the type of shake implemented by awesome on off though.
Point two: i think you have found a sort of workaround with messagease keaboard in another thread. However you can find a number of apps in playstore that give you remote keaboard, mouse and remote desktop of android devices from another android.

lzkwfkv,
The thing is that these tools are not taking care of typing on the interface.
Some only work with SMS, others have a broader range of application but require a wireless connection (which is more battery consuming than a bluetooth solution).
In a world where virtually every hardware has bluetooth enabled, I'm realy wondering if there's no option to simply turn an old android tablet or phone into a bluetooth keyboard that hooks to other devices, without installing a host software on the targetted device. This would have a large range of application, not jsut to type on the ImacWear M7
Note: MessageEase is indeed a good alternative. I'm training on it ...

I understand your point an I am with you, but unfortunately it is as it is.
If you look at the default Bluetooth profile that the watch uses to pair with other devices you will just find internet access tethering, so it is the only way you could use the watch for via Bluetooth. I also miss a full a2dp or a hands free bluetooth profile to get on the watch full media or phone audio from the paired devices. Unfortunately these services as well as keyboard/mouse are not available over Bluetooth on these devices and you will need to use another Bluetooth stack (bluez from some time ago?) or a custom implementation through an app for those Bluetooth services.
As for the keyboard I've tried several, including messageasy, the only one really usable that can replace the aosp KB with a medium learning curve is flit keyboard that I am actually using now. Indeed my quest for a good KB is going on and I am also appreciating minuum KB. Those are the two alternatives I have to choose between.

I just got my M7 as well, and can definitely confirm that call quality is miles beyond that of the Truesmart.
My Truesmart is effectively unusable for calling unless using a BT headset; the M7 is fine, with the only comment from callers being that it sounds a bit tinny, "am I on speakerphone or something" (which, ofcourse, they are).
All in all I am quite happy I took the chance and moved from the Truesmart to the M7.
Another user and I have bought this clone http://m.alibaba.com/product/60240808558/TOP-factory-3G-GPS-android-wifi.html for £84 ($130) including delivery, it's exactly the same as the imacwear M7 as far as I can tell, Android 4.4.2 and very good clear 3G calls.
Does any know how to check the Bluetooth version? I'm sure it's 4.0.

Hi lzwfkv,
I've just had a test with:
An A2DP device, the Jabra BT3030 (ancestor of the Jabra Steet2)
A Bluetooth keyboard, that normally is a companion to the Acer Iconia W700
A Bluetooth mouse, the targus AMB02EU
It is possible to use all 3 at the same time.
To search for Bluetooth devices, from a standby state:
press top button to see the watch
swipe to see the homepage
swipe down from top edge to see eventual messages (the screen can be all black without message, with time on top right left side, provider on bottom and menu button on top left)
touch menu button
if Bluetooth chicklet is white, hit it once to activate Bluetooth, and it becomes blue
When Bluetooth chicklet is blue, long press it
You see that the M7 is visible to paired devices, and also a list of devices already known. (My M7 knows also a Jabra Easygo ear bud and a Samsung GT-P3110 tablet we have)
If you want to search from a Bluetooth device and find the M7, hit the words "only visible" and then search from the other device
With a mouse or a keyboard it's kind of difficult to initiate a search.
To search for Bluetooth devices from the M7
1) make sure that your Bluetooth device is discoverable (for my keyboard I had to keep its powerbutton pressed long, for the mouse, there is a connect button)
2) Now swipe from left edge to right, and a menu will appear to search for devices (and if you want, you can rename the phone there as well, for example)
3) Search for devices and hit the one you want to connect
4) follow connection instructions (For keyboard, I had to type a number sequence and hit enter, the sequence was shown on the M7 screen, For the mouse I had to type the mouse passcode on the M7, and I knew it's 0000)
5) Enjoy
So, if a developer builds a software that enables an old smartphone to act as a Bluetooth keyboard, it is possible to connect this to the M7 as a regular Bluetooth keyboard. Still looking for one. There was a project here on XDA that was doing what I'm looking for, but it's not available on the modern Android versions.
Adding another Bluetooth stack at first sight is not needed. It works fine from factory.
iMacwear v ZGPAX S8
I received my Macwear yesterday. I have managed to access my emails, I downloaded yahoo mail from the app store. Additionally I downloaded Runkeeper in preperation of going out for a run today to test it out (i have used runkeeper before on previous mobile phones and know its a great running app). To put the sim card in you have to unscrew x2 small screws to take this small panel/strip off the side, this I imagine has been put in place to try and make the watch more water resistant/proof as possible. My wife called me soon after setting it up and I was surprised and how clear I could hear her and how well she could hear me,I guess I was expecting less quality, but it is great so far.
iMacwear v ZGPAX ..the main differences that I can see
iMacwear
more expensive around £110-£120 ebay (i got mine on ebay £105 best offer)
1GHz dual core
600 mAh battery
water resistant/water proof IP67
android 4.4.2 (i was expecting 4.2 however it arrived with 4.4.2 android version)
weight 118g
to charge you have to put the charger unit around the phone and then connect the lead, so no charger port on the side of the phone only on the charger cradle thing that comes with the phone.
ZGPAX
cheaper at around £80 ebay
1.2 GHz dual core
470 mAh battery
not waterproof
android 4.4
weight 75g
charger port on the side of the watch phone making it easier to charge
so i guess between the two, I have to go for the M7 because I will be going out running in the rain & need water proof/resistant watch phone and I would prefer a better battery life however I would have liked to have had the android 4.4 and better charging port and lighter watch like the ZGPAX. Seeing that they are close in specification I guess it depends on which features you want more and of course the look of the phone/watch. I will be testing it out more today. I have a garmin 405 forerunner gps watch and intend on comparing the watch phone to this to make sure the miles covered are close because the garmin is top quality for running. I main intention is to use the watch phone M7 to play music through my bluetooth headphones when out running whilst being able to track my run and be able to make/recieve calls if I need to but obviously this might be a test to the watch phones battery.
please note that I dont think there is a way to get call forwarding from another mobile phone to this watch unless anyone else knows. With Samsung gear s you need a sim card in both your samsung gear s and in a samung mobile phone and then if you leave your main phone behind you can do call forwarding to your watch phone or have someone ring you off your other number on your watch because you will have two numbers with samsung and two contracts. Also if you have the samsung gear s and dont have a compatible samsung main phone it wont work. After all these considerations I went for the iMacwear M7 because if i go out for a run or fancy going for a pint with my mates I can just transfer my one and only sim from my main mobile and put it in the watch, but the annoyance with this is that I have to unscrew them two little screws on the side of the watch to change the sim. If I went with the ZGPAX i wouldn't have this issue but it isn't waterproof. The M7 comes with x2 scews extra as spare and a mini srewdriver. My M7 has its name etc underneath the watch phone - mentioning this as some sites suggest they dont and there appears to be this same watch (M7) selling under different names. I have gone for the iMacwear choice for this watch and the quality appears very good,I cannot say for the same watch under different company names, maybe more people can say.
apparently the ipod nano 6 has the same size screen as the iMacwear M7, so I have ordered x6 screen protectors on Ebay for the nano with the intention of putting it on my M7,hopefully they will fit perfectly. only costs around £1-2 on Ebay

The iMacwear M7 is now down to around £75 from DX and the Gearbest EU Warehouse, and the M702 2nd Gen is £80 from Chinavasion.com where it is directly linked from the official website: http://www.imacwear.com/novel-wearable-brand-imacwear-showcased-in-new-yorks-times-square / http://www.prnewswire.com/news-rele...ased-in-new-yorks-times-square-300015595.html .
@chedderbeef , given the praise that the call quality of the iMacwear M7 has received (presumably running Android 4.2 rather than the 4.4.2 that yours shipped with), do you feel that it is better call quality than that of the ZGPAX S8? Also, how does antenna reception compare between the two, and compared to traditional phones?

Hi All,
First of all it's been a while i was on XDA, Please do not hesitate to direct me to the links if any. Its just i lost the hang of it.
I would need some advice on turning TF201 to a car infotainment system. I'm running Katkiss's Stable rom with stock kernel (i believe). I like the multi-window option, that's when i decided it would be great for my car.
Any suggestions are always welcome!
I'm running premium version of Automate ( which i like the most on my Nexus 6P) but wouldn't support offline maps.
Then, I've downloaded Here Maps, I have difficulties in updating the location (could be GPS location problem) i have tried almost all navigation apps and none updated the location. Screenshot Below.
I do have an Asus GPS dongle, tried plugging that in and no luck (May be as i'm on a custom rom).
I would be glad if any of you have any ideas to speed up my (TF201) and my project as well.
Many Thanks in advance:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:
I've actually been thinking of the same thing since I resurrected my Prime a few days ago. There are just two problems I have. First is my car stereo doesn't have and AUX input of any kind that I know about. If I'm going to do this I'm going to have to break into it and figure out a way to get into the low side of the output amps (or some other way) and tap in there. GPS is horrible even with the dongle and if using the dongle on a long trip you can't charge it. I have two dongles (thanks for your screw-up Asus) and was thinking of taking one apart and trying to install a charging cable that would work when the dongle is plugged in. Then I remembered that I have an old BT GPS receiver that I used in my PDA days so that solves problem #2.
Keep working on it and let me know some of your ideas/solutions and I'll do the same if I start this project.
Hi theandies,
Thanks for participation.
I do not have aux input either
I use a BT FM transmitter (BC - 06 ) from BSR. I like it and I have had no problems so far.. It is that you'll have to find the best RF.
I would want to mount it to the CD player ... With those mounts available on eBay.
I have an OBD 2 adapter plugged in with torque pro.
Yes I agree charging is a big problem, and I wouldn't like the wire lying around as well, figuring out a way to plug it in from the stereo. I'm stuck here.
I drive a citroën C4 VTR 2007. Any other ideas??
Thanks again.

I just can't find an FM BT transmitter that I like. I guess I'm a bit of an audio snob as far as sound quality and the FM transmitter just doesn't cut it for me. I'm an electronics engineer so breaking into my car stereo and making an audio in should take much work.
Torque was what I was going to use it for mostly as well. Still thinking about it. Right now I'm putting a clutch in my '71 Corvette convertible so that's taking up most of my time right now. I'll post stuff as I go.
Update: See edit below for results!
Hey fellas,
I'm doing this exact project myself. I'm going to try and get away with running the stock ROM, AutoMate and using my phone as a WiFi hotspot for online navigation and music streaming.
I figure that I'll just use Tasker to make a quick hotspot toggle on my phone's homescreen. I'm toying with the idea of automating the hotspot activation for whenever my phone is plugged in (since I always plug my phone in when I'm driving anyway.) I'm thinking that if I do that and have it only function between the hours of, say, 6:00am and midnight, it'll deactivate automatically for when I forget to do so during my nightly charge.
I just have my tablet velcroed to my dashboard along with a charging cable. It looks just fine! I'm sacrificing the usage of two of my AC vents, but I never really use them anyway.
I'll let you know how it goes!
Update: AutoMate isn't supported on the stock ROM... Time to get to some flashing!
Update 2: The project is finished!
The memory of how my Prime ended up in my possession is a bit of a fuzzy one, and I discovered that for whatever reason I seem to have the German edition. Coupled with the fact that I have no Windows 7 computers to run fastboot with properly, I spent a few too many hours trying to figure out how to load the KatKiss 5.1.1 ROM.
I ended up settling for an easy 4.1.1 jellybean ROM that didn't need any further screwing around with TWRP and bootloader versions. I loaded up AutoMate and found it quite lackluster and somewhat glitchy, but Drivermode works absolute wonders! The WiFi hotspot from my Galaxy Note 3 running Dirty Unicorns 5.1.1 functions beautifully.
Apparently there's ways of transmitting GPS from a phone to a tablet via Bluetooth, but the GPS on my Note has never really worked since I flashed DU anyway so I left that alone. I'm fine with just getting Google's directions manually and having the map with the route open. It's still really handy having the Prime for that.
As far as physically mounting the tablet goes, I really just velcroed it to my dashboard and ran the charging cable plus aux cord beneath the front cover panel to secure them. It holds quite firmly and can be easily removed if I feel like using the tablet for something else. I also think it improves the aesthetics of my ol' 1998 Cherokee. It looks much cleaner than the cheap ugly radio installed behind it xD
Having driven a few hours now with this new setup, I can definitely say that I am very happy with the outcome, especially since my Prime was otherwise just sitting on a shelf collecting dust. Spotify works like a charm with Drivermode and controlling its functions is easier than ever. I have also realized other potentials for having such a large, Internet-connected screen in such a convenient location. It's got some wicked movie-watching potential, for example. Date night with a view, anyone?
That does look good AggieJack. I've put my project on hold for now as I'm pulling the engine on my old Corvette and theat is taking all my free time. I've not abandoned it and hopefully finish it too. For GPS I'm going to use my external Bluetooth GPS receiver I have. It works great ant can lock on to double digit signals.
That looks fantastic.. Again. Katkiss runs fine for me with automate.. It wouldn't pick the GPS. That's where I'm held at.
If I get that going.. I will may have to find a solution to connect the charger inside the stereo cabinet. As I don't like wires lying around.

This is what I have. Bought it a long time ago to work with my old PDA.
