I am wondering if i can flash roms on my Sprint Note 3 (5.0 Lollipop OK2)
There is not much information on this site about the OK2 update for HLTESPR and I am afraid if i test any of the "compatible roms" it might brick my device.
Can some very smart person confirm if I am safe to flash a rom or not.
Also, is there any custom kernels that i can flash on stock ok2?
I would like to know this as well

I recently got a Galaxy Note II and have been flashing ROMs for a while on other phones (RAZR MAXX, GNex, and more)
My Note II is currently on 4.1.2 and I've been reading a lot of threads and I understand I can use CASUAL to root, unlock, and load TWRP which is great!
My question is that I see a lot of threats with 4.3 ROMS so how do I update my Note II to the MJ9 4.3 update and keep TWRP or some custom bootloader so I can flash custom ROMS. From all that I've read, the 4.3 update comes with a new bootloader that's locked and unable to be unlocked currently.
The best info I've come across is this thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=49555505&postcount=6
which is saying to download the Firmware: http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23269279319198557 (toltevzw_mj9_official_firmware.tar.md5.7z) and flash it, that should update me from 4.1.2 to 4.3 while keeping TWRP and root? Or am I missing something in how to get to 4.3 and flash all the newest ROMs?

Most all of the 4.3 based rom threads have a link to a partial firmware update that you need to flash in Odin in order for Wifi to work correctly.
The partial firmware update will not lock your bootloader.

If I were you, I would take these steps:
1. Root and unlock bootloader with Casual's latest.
2. Head to Alliance Rom build 23 and download the mj9 firmware there. (This will not cause you to lose root or lock your bootloader) Install using odin. From there you will be updated to mj9 firmware, but will not be updated to 4.3. You will still be on 4.1.2 until you flash a 4.3 rom via TWRP or CWM.
3. Choose any of the available 4.3 Roms of your liking. Make sure you update your TWRP to the latest via goomanager or another alternate way.

I ended up with a Verizon S4 through eBay (for a good price at least), and have managed to get on 5.0.1 and root it (via the PC version of Kingroot). Being that it's the OC1 baseband version, my options seem to be quite - no, very limited, when it comes to flashing non-touchwiz based ROMs. Is there any conceivable way I can get a custom recovery on here that will allow me to flash AOSP ROMs? I can wait, it doesn't have to be right now... I just need to know if my particular S4 is permanently crippled in this regard, or if it's just a matter of waiting until someone cracks it. Ideally I'd like to have an unofficial Android M ROM on here when the time comes. What are my options?
Also, I just came from the development sub forum (I can't comment there yet) and saw a new 5.1.1 ROM (Gamer Rom?) that claims to work for the Verizon S4. I'm skeptical that it wouldn't actually brick my device so I wanted to check of anyone else here has found a way to flash it. As far as I know, we can't even flash CWM so I just wanted to double check of I was missing anything obvious. Cheers
Hi
Can anyone please let me know how to upgrade my Samsung i535 verizon to cyanogenmod 5.1 custom...phone is currently running official 4.4.2 kitkat.
Thanks
It's not possible. VZW S3 with 4.3 and above updates have locked bootloaders. This means you can not install a traditional custom recovery and it does not allow flashing custom kernels, which anything non Samsung based would need. Your only option would be the Safestrap recovery and custom rom based off of Touchwiz. You can not downgrade either to an earlier version of the software before the bootloader lock either, just in case you had that idea. VZW asks Samsung to muck it up like that.
Long story. I have a Straighttalk Galaxy S6 (5.0.2) odexed rom.
Sadly, Straightalk doesn't have firmware updates for my phone.
I have searched EVERYWHERE on google for a custom rom that matches the model SM-S906L but no luck. The reason why I need a custom rom is so I can use Xposed.
According to the Internet, Xposed currently does not support 5.0.2 stock (odexed roms), TouchWiz roms. So thats why I was wanting a DEODEXED rom that will support my phone.
If any on knows what custom roms that work on the model SM-S906L It would be greatly appreciated if anyone gave me some info.
Any help would be appreciated!

Did you ever manage to install 5.1.1 or 6.01 on your phone? I have the same phone on 5.02. Some say you can flash stock SM-G920R6 on 6.01. (but not sboot and modem). Tried but failed.
Still not roms or info on this device
Greetings, I am on stock android 4.2.2 and i want to root and upgrade it to a very light ROM so i can run some games for my nephew on it. My Note 2 is laying around for so many years. What do you guys think which ROM should i use? Thanks and Happy Holidays
Do you mean 4.4.2 or 4.1.2?
If 4.1.2:
You can unlock your bootloader with Casual No You Verizon and install any ROM made for this device.
If 4.4.2:
Was your bootloader unlocked on a previous firmware? If so you might be able to get any ROM made for this device if it's still unlocked. Otherwise you cannot unlock it on 4.4.2 and are limited to ROMs that don't require custom kernels and that are based on TouchWiz, like Ditto Note 3. Ditto Note 3 is good but the wifi didn't work for me. You can install custom ROMs with Safestrap recovery. I'm about to upload a guide that goes over all this as soon as I have enough posts to do so.
