I am having a very weird issue. I have 6 android devices note 3, note 10.1 2014 (2), note 4, Tab S, S4, and HTC Desire. Some devices are rooted and some not. Some are WiFi only and some are LTE devices. On all of them, Google maps gets stuck on "searching for GPS", irrespective of location (indoor, outdoor, different zip code).
I have tried everything from clearing cache for apps to factory resets, but haven't been successful in fixing the issue. I have also tried the device specific information I could get from other XDA threads, but those didn't work either .
Any help would be appreciated.

Truly a bizarre problem. Have you tried signing into a different Google account and seeing if that fixes the problem? Let me know how it goes I'll he happy to keep thinking of possibilities.
All the testing and you skipped the first step which is a logcat.

Using a different Google Account solves the issue (i.e. I am able to get turn-by-turn directions). Thanks for the suggestion . It's still a weird issue though

Glad you could find a temporary work around, but as mentioned by the great zelendel would you mind posting a logcat of what happens when you login with your usual account. I will look then at the log file and see if I can determine any causes .

Hey man I haven't forgot about you! My grandfather ended up passing away this past week so my mind and time as can be expected have been else where recently. In the morning I will re-analyze the log file and let you know what I find .

It's got a soft-limit of around 20 or so, and I hit it installing CM7. Couldn't log in.
Deregistered some of the 23+ devices in my list (so I flash a lot of roms...who here doesn't?) and the problem was fixed.

I have two listed for my Fascinate. I can see the original device and then I have Samsung Fascinate 1 for my CM7. Which is the safe one to remove? Does it matter? I'd hate to lose any of the paid licenses I have.
Just got the temp login error with my thunderbolt. I went to the link in the op and had 24 various devices that were related to the TB plus one for the captivate. I cleared all of them out and signed in again. Thank you!
Is anyone else having issues logging into the NFL Mobile app? It says my username and password or wrong, but I know for a fact that this is not the case.
I know there was a similar problem with the Thunderbolt and I tried that workout around to get it to work on the Rezound, but without any luck.
I had this issue on Newts XxX ROM but on viper Rez it worked the first time.

depends on the ROM. Some roms have necessary files for the verizon sso removed.

I don't know if your issue is in any way similar to mine other than the username and password not matching error but I have been dealing with this since march without any results or responses. What I finally found out last week with a very helpful VZW rep was that there are two rezounds associated with my account and prior to this year both phones were able to log on with the account user name and password without any problem. In March of 2012 I noticed I was getting this error and I associated it to the many Roms I was trying out. Long story short the rep asked me to create an account associated to this phone only and everything worked perfectly. In my opinion this is another one of those times whem VZW makes changes to the process without informing there users or reps for that matter.

Has anyone had trouble with Ingress on the HTC One? I keep getting nothing but a blank map. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling the app and resyncing several times, all to no avail. Apparently it's a "known issue":
Some agents have reported seeing a blank or black map on their Scanners. We're currently investigating a fix for this issue. In the meantime, some agents have reported that disabling Wi-Fi and forcing your device into 3G or data-only mode resolves this problem. Please refer to your mobile phone's manual for the exact instructions on doing this for your device. Note that you may incur extra data charges for doing this since you'll no longer using a Wi-Fi connection.

I am not having any trouble -- the game runs substantially faster and better than on every other device I've owned.

Hello fellow agent. Have same problem it has to do with LTE. If you launch the game the initial scan doesn't always work when on LTE. If I go into Network settings and turn off LTE by choosing WCDMA and go back to Ingress it will load fine. Then I can go back and use LTE as long as app stays running. It's flaky but this has worked every time.
I'd like to report this to Niantic. Do you have a thread going on this or is it on G+?

Yup, I just checked, and AT&T LTE is the culprit. Seems to work fine when it's disabled. I really hope Niantic gets this resolved - I'll add this information to the post I made.

Can you give me the link? I'd like to post I'm having the same issue. What's odd is it's only the initial scan. When the app is running and you're on LTE it appears to work fine. Hope they fix it soon too. My guess is when the app starts it doesn't detect the LTE connection properly or something.

I googled solutions to fix "Your device is not compatible with this version" when downloading new apps, and followed the directions on this video. My phone started having the issue described (reboot loop), so I attempted to follow the accompanying video, but could not get it to work. I figured if I did a factory reset, it would put my phone back to how it was, erasing the changes I tried to make. However, it did not fix the issue.
I just bought this phone 3 weeks ago and now I can't use it. I'm on a fixed income (Peace Corps volunteer on a living stipend) and spent nearly my whole month's allowance to get this phone. Right now I can't afford to take it to a Samsung store to fix it, and I'd prefer not taking it there anyway as I'm in a city that I don't live in right now which is clear across the country from my home, so if I take it there, I may have to leave before they are able to fix it.
Is there someone here who would be willing to skype-walk me through trying to fix the phone on my own? Apparently I'm not capable of doing it myself, and I really want my phone fixed.

I haven't yet. I'm on public computers right now. When I get wifi to download it on my own computer, I will and let you know how it works. I hope that will happen soon.

Not sure what is going on, but I've noticed that whenever I visit XDA my browser will automatically start downloading PDFs
Specifically they are various chicken recipes and each file is about 500kb give or take. This will happen every time I visit XDA.
Has anyone else been experiencing this recently?
Nope... Although if you got some good chicken cooking recipes ... Please share :laugh:

Pretty sure xda's not your issue. Does it only happen on one device (6p)? What browser? Try different ones for both and see if it still happens.
happened to me on xda also without ad blocker. Internet is a dangerous place without adblocker.

Just tried with Snapdragon browser and I still get those download requests.

Yeah this is one of my first times surfing without using AdAway in a very long time since I was not able to get it running on Benzo.
Didn't bother with it as Pure Nexus N is imminent at this point.

The bad thing is it auto downloads. I didn't even think that was possible on an android phone without some kind of prompt.
That is sketchy would full wipe then flash factory images and then get it ready for pn7 id est nougat radio, vendor, bootloader, twrp, etc all in your emmc.
This is scary. I use the XDA app almost exclusively so this never happens for me.
I agree that your first course of action should be to make a backup and do a full wipe of the phone, including the internal storage (make sure you move your backup and any other important files to your computer before you wipe)
I'll start using XDA in browser without AdBlock for a bit to see if I can get it to happen to me too. I'm extremely curious.
I will be contacting The Forum Server Admins with regards to this issue. Will post back if needed.

So, I went and talked to "Those Guys". What I have been given to understand that the issue is being looked at ever since it was reported in last day or two. Also the issue is going to be fixed here shortly. Please report back here if you do still see this. Also I am assuming this didn't happen due to accidentally clicking some ad. Is that right ?
To me, it appears to be limited to Mobile version of the site and not on PC.

I've got the exact same "recipe" but was switching tabs so much I didn't see who was doing this. But I got 3 of the same exact named Southwestern Rice and Smoked Chicken Skillet.pdf . Me no likey this. Edit: I wanted to clarify that I did not click any ads, either of the 3 times the download initiated.

Was this after I posted above ? If so, I'd like to have the following.
The precise Page Link where this happened.
Your Browser name and version or App version.
The complete name of the file that got downloaded.
Date and Time when this happened. Also your timezone, if you are comfortable in sharing that. Or else you can convert the date and time to GMT Timezone and provide that.

Chicken recipe PDF was also downloaded onto my phone. It downloads automatically when loading a page with the chicken recipie ad. You could be spammed dozens of times if you lurk heavily.
Has anyone opened up the file?
