Blackberry priv for $299 - Nexus 6P General

The blackberry priv that hardly anyone cares about is now 299$ which is MUCH more reasonable than its previous price and with those specs I think puts it in the range of competition with the 6p.
http://m.ebay.com/itm/381605331472?rmvSB=true&_mwBanner=1
Has anyone else ever seen/used/owned one before? Not sure how I feel about that keyboard but it seems really nice.

Shouldn't you be asking about the Priv on the Priv forums? It's just a hunch, but I feel like you'd get a lot more replies.

[Q] Swapping my iphone4 with SGS2, am i gonna regret?

like the title, i have someone who willing to swap his SGS2 with my iphone4. i lke the SGS2 but i am not sure wether it is worth the swap. if u guys be me, would u do it? i use my device mainly for text, internet and organizer. not really into game. i like the big screen of SGS2 which can make web browsing more enjoyable.
thanks for your opinion. =)
1) You are on XDA Developers, who believe in openness and the freedom to customize your device as you please.
2) You ask whether you will regret the swap from iOS to Android here, especially about a phone that is on demand by most and is Android.
I don't think there is a proper way to answer it, its like asking the Mac forums whether you would regret the switch to Windows.
I would suggest playing with an Android device to see whether you like it. I am switching from an iOS device to the SGS II as well and I dont think I will regret it. Especially now that Android Market place has almost the same apps and this device is a Dual Core 1GB Ram beast.
exactly, you are on the sgs2 section of xda forum....
it really is a personal thing, my suggestion is make the change and have a taste of android OS, if you don't like it, wait for the iphone 5~
A plain swap? Hell yes. Even if you don't like it just sell it for like $750-$800 (convert it to your local currency just in case) when the iPhone 4 is just around $450-$500. You will make more money even if you don't like the phone.
I would love to find someone here in Toronto who is willing to just swap their SGS2 with my iPhone 4...it's going to suck having to cough up an extra $150-200
I personally wouldnt regret the swap of an iphone for a Nokia 2110. So swapping an iphone for an SGS2, youll b fine!
I'm doing the same thing, and I doubt I'll have any regrets whatsoever. I'm gaining money and I'm switching to a better, newer phone.
As above, go for it
Seriously, this phone is likely to be the first true iPhone killer, where it performs better than your iThing... Take a look at video reviews to get a flavour of it Some phrases that sprung to mind included "smoothest android phone yet" etc...
And if you really don't like it, you should be able to resell it at a better price, or indeed find someone who would trade the SGS II for an iP4 again...

lol i love that phrase....'iphone killer'... using that phrase is like saying the iphone is the number one phone and all the other phones being made are clawing at its feet, waiting for it to drop a crumb of food!
I will not submit to the notion that the iphone is in anyway better than my old Nokia 2110!
(This is just my opinion and may not reflect the opinion of millions of other who have made the iphone one of the best selling phones in the world)
Coming from iphone 4 i love this sgs2 more, its not my first android device so i no what to expect and its a pleasure using this its super fast and enjoyable, ill be honest i would of got iphone 5 if that was released, i will still buy ip5 when its out but ill be keeping this beast still, every1 has there own taste but your getting so much more out of this than an ip4,

Neither will I, but I am just conveying what some of the fanbois are saying =D
Engadget are some of the biggest fanbois and they loved it.
One thing I have noticed is, the text display rendering, especially in browser is better on iPhone. The columns resize to readable fonts on double tapping in iOS. Android browser doesn't have such 'sophisticated' column resize etc.

I was surprised by Igadgets write up!
totally do the swap, even if you dont like it, the sgs2 is worth more $$$ than the iphone4, you just cannot lose
if you don't like it, sell it, buy a new iphone4, and get some beers with the rest of the money
I already swapped my Iphone 4 for a Windows Phone 7 mobile some months ago so...
Itunes is nothing else than a Virus. You will feel the freedom and the power with SGII.

Am I stupid!?

Hi all!
Ok don't answer the title question
I own an LG G2 currently. I like the phone but I always keep my eyes on HTC ONE MAX because I really like HTC and like HTC sense.
I always like bigger screens (especially that I already sold all my tablets to condense on all my use on 1 device).
At first I bought the G2 thinking that note 3/one max are too big for me but now I'm starting to change my mind.
Am I stupid to think about such a switch?
Why?! For 3 simple reasons:
1- I bought G2 32GB from USA and cost me around 650$ with all additional tax/shipping fees.
If I wanna sell it now, I doubt it can be sold for even 500$, I fear lower much more like 400 or 450$ max because it has low resale value in my country.
2-If I accepted such loss:
the note 3 offering S800, 3GB ram, WACOM + Spen, 32GB+SDCARD and all those additional software features (mostly gimmick however) cost around 660$ while
while HTC one max (and you know what it offers) cost around 690$.
3-Does the one max offer any new/additional experience/featuresthat my G2 doesn't!?
As far as I know, G2 is much more feature packed than the One max.
So as you can see, it's quite sad really to see that HTC phones are always overpriced! (one of many reasons why they don't sell well anymore)
I dunno, I really have mixed feelings and would be glad if anyone has an experience in this matter or can help me.
Thanks.

I was just thinking the same thing. All of a sudden these are popping up everywhere.
I think what is happening is that a lot of people are looking for alternatives to the Samsung stuff, and, after reading a lot of the initial reviews, that were not complimentary to this phone, those same people are now seeing all sorts of great things about this great phone, and are thinking about getting one.
I'm glad I made that decision in November!

InkCase+ an E-Ink Screen

Hei guys,
I found this interesting thing on Kickstarter:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/378232716/inkcase-plus-e-ink-screen-for-android-phone
It's a 3.5" 360x600 pixel E-Ink display thats 5mm thick and has a 500mAh battery which should reach *up to* 19 Hours.
If we Vote on their Facebook page (just comment the Status where its says Vote) they might even make a case for the Xperia Z2

Usefull / Useless?
What do you think?
Doubles the thickness of the phone. No thank you.

I'm not backing anything on Kickstarter to do with Android accessories any more, got burned by this prick:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/859748664/snappgrip-full-control-of-your-phones-camera-with
Promised us an S3 case, he released the iPhone version (about a year and a half late), all the S3 owners upgraded so it's no use anymore, and he is ignoring refunds and questions about the S3 version.

Sorry you lost your money, but it looks like an idiotic product anyway. Double the size of your phone with an ugly case, then carry around a honking-great handgrip as well? No thanks -- if you're going to add all that bulk, you might as well just carry a real camera.
I know, I wanted to show there was support for android accessories seeing as they were almost always for the iPhone only, plus I wanted it for a tripod mount for time lapse photography.

S3 advice needed, project for wife

Background story
My wife is giving her iphone to her sister and needs something to last her until "the next iphone" comes out. I thought i would try to get her to like android and got an s3 (with a smashed screen) from ebay. Im planning to replace the screen and case so it will look good as new. (so if anyone knows a good place for cheep screens please let me know) I would like to install a rom that is reliable and gives a modern samsung ui. android version isnt important, though it must run well. She only mostly uses fb, email and web browsing + a few simple appps so any suggestions that fit the bill would be greatly appreciated. Im hoping after using if for a few months or so she might want to give something like the note 4 or 5 a go rather than going back to apple.
Requirements.
Modern looking ui
Smooth runner (want her to like android/samsung)
All advice and comments greatfully recieved.

You made a Huge mistake, man. Since it's amoled screen it cost as much as the phone. There are no cheap amoled, amoled is amoled.
As far as other stuff, first you need to decide if you gonna fix it or move to another phone. After that,we can talk estetics

Buy an ebay phone with a dead motherboard then swap parts until you get one that works.
It would have been cheaper to buy a new moto G.
Ok. I guess i could just resell the phone on ebay.
I was trying not to spend too much as the chance is she will just get an iphone anyway. What would you recomend? That wont break the bank. But will provide a nice experience

It,s a good price for s4. People complain that 2gb of ram is barely enough for Tw and Lp,but it's individual. Good things are hd display, and 2gb of ram. I think that is ok until new Iphone.
Don,t know or i missed what she had? 5,5s? Take under consideration ,in that case ,that it's a big difference in screen size and she might not like it.

I got a screen from Aliexpress for $55, works perfectly !
She has an iphone 5. I just want to show her how good android is she does use my note 3 sometimes. I will look online as some s4's is the alpha any good?

Iphon ed vs android

I wish I had an iphone. All I have is a galaxy s6 and the LG g5 doesnt look too good. If it was a iPhone e it would be Considered great. Who how is better android of apple and shy?
It's subjective, they both have pros and cons.
I prefer Android as it offers more freedom and customization. IPhone lacks any kind of customization and with the very limited color selection, you end up with the exact same phone and layout as half the planet. The lack of homescreen widgets is also a negative.
The only real benefits to an IPhone, for me, are that Apple doesn't cater to carriers and let them bloat the phone with their bloatware/custom UI's, which leads to the second benefit of immediate updates. I also like that they support all bands, so you don't need to buy a new device when jumping carriers.
There is no best with phones. There is only better for you. Some users (like myself) prefer android. It allows me to customize and do things I cannot on the iPhone. Some users love the UI of iOS and love how simple it is and hate android because of how complex it can be. I find the best way to make a ex iPhone user happy with android is to go Nexus. It is similar in simplicity and provides a familiar ease. My wife just did that and she hated android before but not loves it with her Nexus 5X.
Really it depends on the person. These debates can be irrelevant and get heated for no reason because people will argue points that are better for them and not the other person in the debate. I find as time passes the gap between iOS and android is closing in. The non-stock android devices are becoming closer to stock and slimming down their skins and it is helping iOS users to come over. I have owned a lot of iOS and Android devices (see my signature) but eventually I find the iPhone to be boring and want more features. But once again the features that I use and the features that you use will differ so there is no reason for me to state android is better.
I do think that Apple really needs to shake up the market. They have been dry the last couple of years and allowed android to take off with the market. They could easily lock up the market permanently if they just add some of the features android users love (quick charge, front facing speakers, slimmer bezels, larger batteries, wireless charging and the list goes on)
This is my unbiased opinion, hope it helps

Everyone that I know says that their iphone is better. The iphone does look nice and it is faster and doesn't lag or get stuck like android phones do. It also has better features and I would buy one but i can't afford the iphone.

It doesn't matter what "everyone" says... I know a lot of people who would disagree with your "everyone". By the statement you made and my comment above , clearly if they own an iPhone then they prefer iOS to android and it is better for them. But it does not mean it is better for everyone. My 6P and my wife's 5X do not have any lag. In fact I had more lag on my iPhone 6 than I have on these devices. So you may buy an iPhone and still get frustrated with issues. My wife's iPhone had issue after issues which led her to get an android after everything lagged and would crash.
Well either save up and buy one or sell your phone and buy an older iPhone. I do not get the point of this thread if you asked for which is better but then you stated you have already made up your mind. This thread is irrelevant now unless your plan was to public state how you think iOS is better. I have owned many iPhones in my life and I have never had a better phone than my 6P. It is crazy fast and handles any task I toss at it. Future android phones will be similar.
EDIT: oh @Dgball40 I will admit that the S6 is a laggy mess with horrible battery life so if you are judging your android experience on that phone try a real phone.
