Port Forward through a USB Tether? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I recently busted my WiFi adapter and have been using an old phone to USB tether my WiFi connection and I was wondering if there was ever a way to port forward my PC's connection through the tether.
I found this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=at.bherbst.net&hl=en but it didn't seem to work for me unless I was doing it wrong.

It don't work that way. I'm assuming you don't have internet at your house so your trying to get on line using your data connection from your phone? If you have a pc tether to your pc with your phone. Connect PS3 to pc also using a BRIDGING Ethernet cable. Once tethered and connected go to Network Connections on your pc. Right click wireless settings(if your tethered wireless) and select the sharing tab and check the box that says share connection. Done. If your tethered through usb then you would just do the same steps except for your LAN connection. Should be able to boot up PS3 and connect if all went well. These instructions are the same for xbox360 also. Also just for fun if you happen to have wireless router you can follow those steps above as well except you would connect the router directly to the pc. That way it when you tether to your pc with your phone the signal will be transferred to the wireless router therefore extending your WiFi.

[Q] Thunderbolt with Cradlepoint MBR1200(router)

Is there a way to tether the Thunderbolt with the MBR1200 or any type of Cradlepoint router? I saw on Cradlepoint's forums the Incredible and Blackberries were not officially supported but would work and that almost all Android devices should work as well.
Why not root and use a wireless tether app? That way you don't need a router
I am rooted and have the wireless tether app. I was hoping to be able to use my TB to connect my xbox to live without having to use internet connection sharing on my pc.
Another option would be to get a WiFi antenna for your xbox.

Trying to hook up to evo here as well.
I know it's ndis device just like the mogul and ps2 were. I don't know why they are able to but the evo and the sister models aren't working on it. Specially since evo has been out a year. if they need a ata diagnostic to see the activation lines I'd be more then willling to do one and copy the info to them.
HTC Thunderbolt w/ Cradlepoint MBR1200
I own a Cradlepoint MBR 1200 and was thinking about purchasing an HTC Thunderbolt to connect to this router so I could have unlimited 4G data. Is it possible to do this. I have not been able to get a clear answer.
I don't have 4G, but I will try to hook my T-bolt up to my MBR1000 later today and let you know what happens.
Subscribed. I have one of these at work that I have been working with. When connected to USB it cannot obtain an connection. It's like you need to edit modem settings or something. Of course if you back fed it into a PC in the WAN port you might be able to set up an outgoing connection.

I used Internet connection sharing on a pc and plugged the Ethernet cable into the wan port and it worked that way. I also bought a cheap wireless bridge and connected my Thunderbolt to it using the rooted wireless tether app so that I wouldn't have to have a computer always on to use the Thunderbolt's connection. It does seem that the problem with connecting it does have to do with the MBR not recognizing it but the MBR doesn't seem to recognize it is even plugged in, I read on Cradlepoint's site how to connect a Incredible to the router, but the Thunderbolt does not have the same connection choice as the Incredible does. If someone could figure out the difference between the connection types it doesn't seem like it would be that hard to make a app for this http://blog.cradlepoint.com/an-android-powered-cradlepoint-router.
I used the built-in wired tethering and it didn't work...yet...
When i get some more free time I'll try something like Easy Tether.
I'll see if I can find anything about modem settings as well...

[Q] USB760 from Verizon works for gtablet?

I have a usb760 from verizon. I used it when i am on the road with my windows laptop. It give me 3g from verizon. I am wondering if i can connect this to my gtablet? I plug it into the usb port and it lights up green, but doesn't connect. When i use it on my laptop there is software that connects to the verizon network. Can this device work on our tablet?
As far as I know the only USB modem anyone here in the gTab forums have gotten to work with the gTab is a chinese Huawei USB modem.
You can read about that success story here:

What most people do is run Wireless Tether or Barnacle Wireless Tether on their android phones and turn it into a wi-fi hotspot. Then connect their gTab to it and off to the internets you go.

Tether by ethernet?

I'm currently tethering to my router using Foxfi. From my router I have several wired connections. I'm going from 30mbs download to just 4-5mbs over Foxfi wifi. If possible, I would like to wire my S3 directly to my router. Has anyone experimented with usb to ethernet tethering? I've read about several devices doing the opposite with ethernet out to gain internet access. Some say this adapter works great....

My guess is this hasn't been experimented with...

[Q] Galaxy Note 2 as a Modem

Does anyone know if it is possible to use Galaxy Note 2 as a wired modem?
I know about wifi tethering and I don't want that.
I know about PDAnet type wares that allow usb tethering to a PC. I don't want that either.
I would like to convert the the usb tethering output of the the Note 2 into Ethernet and be able to plug it into any wireless router.
OR
Maybe there is someway to use a wireless router (DD-WRT based) with a usb port that could be configured as wan that would accept usb tethering from Note 2?
Any suggestions are appreciated.
I dont think this would be possible unless you somehow rigged a cable to go from your phone usb on one end to a ethernet port on the other that could transfer internet without a third part program I have a dual band router with a usb port but it seem to only work for like hdds or printers

Maybe I'm missing something, but why not just use the mobile Hotspot to connect to.
Is there a reason it has to be a wired connection? If you must have to have it connected to a router couldn't you just set a router up with dd-wrt and have it set in repeater mode to rebroadcast the hotspot signal.
