No you must download Fullrom then flash with Alka Twrp recovery and wipe cache and dalvikcache reboot.

My phone was officially unlocked the bootloader. I always failed to upgrad by ota(incremental rom). Rebooted my phone and I will received another full rom by ota upgrade. Generally I will copied it to external sd card and flashed by alka twrp, superSU and xposed v85 in one go. Done.

Full wipe is
- Wipe cache
- Wipe Dalvik cache
- Wipe User data/factory reset
- And manually format /system
If you do all these wipe you should not get any FC on any working custom rom. What recovery version you use?
6.0.3.1

Er.. maybe I get you wrong. You don't upgrade cwm recovery to new version, right? All you do is install new ROM and restore cwm back over it. Is this correct?
CWM recovery backup is not compatible across custom rom. I can restore CM 10.1 cwm back on CM 10.2 rom. But I got FC when try to restore data from CM 10.1 on AKOP rom. If you want to restore /data from difference rom, it's safer to use Titanium backup.
I use jellycream rom now.when i back to stock,i root and get unlock bl,after 2-3 days my phone got fc very often.

You got FC on what application? Clean install should not have that problem. If you post logcat maybe others can help you find out what the problem.
Ok bro, never mind, thanx for helping me.

Does mobile odin work for our phones yet? I wanted to install twrp but I'm still in my stock recovery.
Are there any alternatives for installing twrp from the phone?
Thanks

Don't know when but you will have to unroot and install the stock recovery
For unrooting
1 Open SuperSU
2 Tap on Settings
3 Choose*Full unroot*under*Cleanup.
4 Tap on Continue.
Wait a few seconds as SuperSU un-registers and removes itself.
For installing stock recovery
Refer to this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2779249
Or
Download the stock firmware for moto e
Extract recovery.img from there
And flash it using fastboot command
mfastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Hit thanks if helped!
And what about relocking bootloader? If its already unlocked then the update will not be unlocked I guess

You will receive updates even if the bootloader is unlocked
Yes but as I know if boot loader is unlocked it will give some error at the time of installation

No,
It will only give you an error if you have modified/removed any system app.
Bootloader and root cause no issues updating.
However, these all are just assumptions as of now, based on previous experiences.
Who knows what update will bring.

So that means there is no need to unroot or lock boot loader to install the update. Right?
Sent from my XT1022 using XDA Free mobile app
Yes, that's correct.
It might even work with custom recovery with a little modification.

That's great news thanks

Don't use twrp manager. Always download the image file from the forum. Never from techeratta. and flash it with fastboot or you can use flashify

I recommend you to use TWRP recovery, because it has more options.
If you have root access on your phone you could use app called Flashify from Playstore.
When you download Flashify, put TWRP image on you sdcard and open and click on flash Recovery image option in Flashify. When you click that find twrp image on your sd card and select it.
Thats it.
Link for TWRP,click here.
I tried one app like that and i ended up with system wipe.

This means you did not have unlocked boot loader. Without boot loader unlock you can't install custom recovery or custom ROM. There is a recovery for locked boot loader but it only allowed to install Roms based off of your stock ROM. For anything else you need to unlock your boot loader first
