Can anyone help me - Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Questions & Answers

Hi Im Deva
Here is my problem
I bought this phone (redmi note 3) 2 days back. Before I had redmi 2. I backed up my data on redmi 2 n copied it to this phone. When i restored it, my screen lock pattern is not working. I tried but cant unlock the pattern. But in redmi 2 I dont had pattern as my lock, I had password. Now I cant open screenlock & finger print in settings. Please help me

Which app did you use to backup and restore. Also is your bootloader unlocked.

Since you ate using different xiaomi phone, used mi mover to transfer apps in old phone to new phone but tried not on system setting. Mi mover was on the ladt item after backup reset. Even you can selected those app to transfer

if you can adb or twrp file manager and delete or move the file /data/system/locksettings.db/ and reboot.

no not the 3rd party apps I just used the default back up thing in redmi 2

I can't find anything like that of not even any folder like locksettings or system settings

Delete all the /data/system/*.key files.
This should fix it.

That system back up won't work well, i would advise to wipe the Note 3 and login afresh in it with your Mi account, then it will automatically get your apps and settings and even the home screen layout from your previous phone via the cloud.
I used that and there were no hiccups

Turn off your phone. Press vol down + power button.
When you enter fastboot mode, connect to your computer.
Fastboot wipe data
Fastboot wipe cache
This should wipe your intrnal memory aka factory reset. After that you device should work properly.
