Hello Everyone.. Are there other Apps For Marshmallow that can work with Dual Recovery? Seems like we need to power off volume down to get to recovery.. Please Help.
Thank You So Much...
Dual recovery is not compatible with marshmallow so ndrutils will not work
You need you flash recroot v? To restore a recovery also it seems some busyboxs will clash with the recovery so don't install a third party busybox the one that comes with recroot should be fine
You should get twrp 3.^

First of all, all the thanks go to the developers, this is not my work.
I was just looking for a way to root my mobile without changing the kernel.
By pure luck i found out i can root the device.
I downloaded n920ci 4.3 philz touch 6.59.0 from arter97 post and chainfire BETA-SuperSU-v2.49.zip

chainfire BETA-SuperSU-v2.49

Flash the recovery via Odin then flash the SuperSu from the recovery.
Hi. I have n920c. Is there any problem with your device? Your root is still there? Any reboot on call issue? Can you give more info? Thank you

You're welcome.
I'm not experiencing any problems.
this method is causes bootloop for me. What i did:
1) activated oem lock from developer settings
2) flash cwm as linked, with odin
3) flash su 2.49 zip file.
phone stuck at bootloop, recovered to stock rom with kies. Device fixed.
is there something wrong brother?

You need custom kernel to root. I was surprised too by reading this bcoz stock kernel doesn't boot when I tried with prerooted rom.
May be op already have custom kernel when he flashed supersu.
I like to here from op too regarding this.

That's why you got root access. If you were on stock kernel you will have got bootloop. (still your reply is confusing, I din't get you HAD kernel at time of flashing or not) So better you mention this step in OP that you also requires custom kernel.
(You said in OP that you wanted to root without changing kernel,)

Hi,
I read many many Tutorials and Threads and it seems like there are a hundred ways to unlock and flash twrp. But one thing I miss: Which twrp version to flash first? Directly after unlock.
As far as I understand i have to flash a Recovery as img in fastboot mode if there is no twrp installed.
My Questions:
1. Can I flash stock twrp from official twrp site?
2. Should I flash a custom twrp (alka or coffa)? If yes, why?
Thanks!
Sent from my p8000 using XDA-Developers mobile app
1. Yes, you can.
2. I suggest to flash alka, because you can do a full phone backup in case something goes wrong. It cannot be done with stock TWRP.

Perfect thx
One more question: as I understand, one advantage of alka is no need to flash cracked boot.img for miui Roms. Is that right? And do I have to choose between read and write mode (for ota's)? As far as I have read, none of this is needed.
Is there anything i have to consider if I flash a new rom with alka?
Thanks!

Yes, alka does have that feature but I haven't tried. For safety you can flash modified boot.img first. You can make one with android kitchen or I can upload it to you, just tell which ROM.
After flashing TWRP mount system as read only as showed in this pic. You should get OTA updates. http://i.imgur.com/Q0rHzmg.jpg
If you decide later to flash CM, Mokee, AOKP or other custom ROM, make a full backup with alka and for safety copy to your PC too.
