Connect to wifi without Phone - Wear OS Software and Hacking General

If you have the android wear watch but it is not conneccted to your phone or your phone is not nearnby and you stillwant to connecct to a new wifi network not saved in the watch then there are 2 ways to do it.
The Hard way
1. Edit the wifi supplicant config file located in /data/misc/wifi
As we know to go to this location, root access is required so first watch should be rooted.
here is a thread for it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu/android-wear-6-0-1-root-squashfs-t3319097
Also you would require something like a root explorer or es explorer to edit the file and add password for the wifi. Also a keyboard to type. lol. App called minnum keyboard must be downloaded and setup properly. When everything is setup. just edit the file and add the password and connect to wifi
The easy way
2. download an apk called swift wifi. https://apkpure.com/swift-wifi/com.wifi.widget
use adb to connect to watch and install using "adb install appname.apk"
after installed, open the app and connect to wifi. (you will still need minnum keyboard to enter password)

When I launch Swift Wifi it'll load up and display it's string of text and the next line tells me wifi is on them crashes.

The last update was October, 2015 so I wouldn't call it "new". A lot of the comments from people with newer phones and newer OS versions complain that it doesn't work for them.

[Q] How to transfer an app from one android phone to another? (special case)

Here is the problem;
I have a mobile banking app on my phone. The app is in the store and can be downloaded, but it has to be activated in order to be able to use it. So every time time I change the phone (and I do that once or twice a year), I have to go to the bank to get the code. I understand that this is a security measure. However, I'm so sick of this, that I'd like to try solving it.
Now, I'd like to be able to transfer that app to another phone without going to the bank/getting the new code. Is there a way to do this?
Maybe with Titanium Backup!
No. I tried that some time ago. If I recall correctly, it just creates APK file from installed app, and this file can transfered to another device. There it installs like any other new APK. And in this case, it will ask me for an activation code. At least that's how it was last year when I tried to transfer the same app to my HD2.
So restoring data as well from TB does not work?
I'm thinking if there is any "loose" folder post activation on the sd card that isn't caught by titanium.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Xparent ICS Tapatalk 2
I just tried. This time I used app+data. And I got behind the activation code point, but I'm stuck on PIN nr. First 2 times it said wrong pin, although I entered the same PIN I'm entering on my old phone. 3rd time it started to show various errors.
I guess it got locked somehow. It does happen if you enter the wrong PIN 3 times.
The interesting thing is that the app is still working on my old phone.
I guess they protected it well.
Just a noob here but maybe transfer the apk and the data file with Bluetooth file transfer I've used it for apks and zip files. hope this helps
Edit : and fix permissions ?

I doubt there would be any difference in sending the files via bluetooth.
In the play store sign-in to the same email that you used. You can find all your apps synchronized and you can re-download and install on the new device.
Not true.
Not every app.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
I don't think it would be possible because it looks that app code is linked with hardware. Whener you are going to change hardware you will need new code.
That's a good security measure, you should be grateful to your bank.

How-To Adblock Without Rooting

As I have new phone and is not rooted yet, I had a look around and I was able to find this information:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2726443
I gave it a go and it works on my n7505 without any issues, at present tested only on mobile network (Optus) tonight will have a look on a wifi.
I didn't see this readily available and with many people not wanting to root and trip their Knox counter, I thought I'd show you how to get adblocking without root. This will work on both wifi and mobile data.
--First step would be to install Adblock Plus APK. I got mine from: https://adblockplus.org/en/android-install
--After installing, run the app once and activate filtering. It should now be blocking all ads on wifi only. To enable adblock on mobile data you need to add a proxy to your APN.
--Go to system settings>network connections>more networks>mobile networks>access point names. What you need to do now is go to you default APN and copy down all the settings. We only do this because you cannot edit the original APN it seems. Now create a new APN and enter in the copied settings. The only additional settings you add to add to the new APN is:
---Proxy: localhost
---Port: 2020
Make sure you set the new APN you created as active and adblocking should be working! I have done this on my T-mobile S5. Hopefully some of you will find this useful.

It works but slows down the Internet speed!
Looks fine.
But in case you root your device try MinMinGaurd from Xposed Framework, nails every add-hogging app like a charm.
There is also one to disable adds from Youtube app, its last in the download section of Xposed Framework. Those 15 second adds before every Video are passe now
I have no issues with speed. Adblock works only on mobile networks not WiFi.
On my ex rooted S2 I was using Adfree from bigtincan and it was awesome. Right now I'm so no used to ads.

When I use the Adblock some sites don't work correctly. For ex., I get a "bad request" error or some search settings don't apply. When I use no proxy all is okay.

Tutorial: Install Gear Manager and connect to Non-Samsung Devices

Hi,
Today someone told me via Google Plus how to install Gear Manager on non-Samsung mobiles. His name is Serge Berig. So 100% Credits go to him. I am just posting here what he posted in Google Plus. His Phone is Moto X and Mine in LG G2. Worked perfectly fine.
My Test Scenarios:
1. LG G2 D802 Rooted. Rooting is not required as his Moto X is unrooted.
2. I am using a separate SIM on Gear S.
3. I have disabled mobile data and Wifi on both Gear S and my mobile
How it Works:
1. Download Gear Manager Latest Version and GearManagerStub.apk from this link: https://www.mediafire.com/folder/e7h23e12rzesi/Gear_Manager (Credit goes to the uploader)
2. Download these APK Files: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3uemtAJSY3PVDFiY0FsVGRLN28/view?usp=sharing (Credit goes to Serge)
3. Move these files to your phone.
4. 1st install Gear Manager, then GearManagerstb.apk, then all remaining apks.
5. Open Gear Manager on your phone and viola. It connects, Resets your Gear S in case you used it before and as far as i checked everything Works
I did not test each and everything. As far as i know most thing works. Previously i had "Connecting Forever" Issue, now it connects straight away. I am using my Gear S as complete independent to Mobile Calls and SMS from my Mobile. I have not set any forwarding options or notification for Call and SMS from my mobile to Gear S.
Pls post your results
What's not Working:
1. Can't Transfer Music/Images from Phone
2.
I was just coming here to post this.
I can confirm this works on my stock G3.
Works:
Calls work, but i had to switch to the phone then back to bluetooth. Initially there was no audio. However that may have been a glitch, because it works after that without flipping back.
Notifications (you have to allow Gear Manager access to the notifications in Android System Menu)
Home Screen Styler
Find My Gear
Contacts pull down to Gear
Not Working:
Music player seems to be controlled through Gear Manager and not A2DP. So we may have to install Samsung Music player. Still investigating.
Transferring files to the Gear through Gear Manager crashes goproviders.apk. This also broke my notifications. Had to reboot the phone to get it back working.
Call Logs dont pull down
Weather app is missing
Receiving SMS in the watch SMS app. You get the notifications just fine, but the GEAR SMS app can't sync your conversations

I would imagine there is a newer goprovider.apk. The one he posted is 2.0.337.337. Thats the older one from the Gear 1/2 Gear Manager.
All the Samsung Gear S apps are version 2.2 and up. I was experimenting with the old Gear Manager and got similar crashes.
Just thought I'd chime in and let you know that I have the same version on my Note 4 with the Gear S. 2.0.337
Thanks for checking on that. It's got to be a missing lib or some TouchWiz framework.
It's not even a feature I care about, but i'm sure it will be needed later.
I'm still trying to find a fix for the music player controls.

If you skipped the initial activation screen, make sure bluetooth is on, on the Gear S.
Also, try unpairing in the phone bluetooth menu then reopen Samsung Gear manager.

this is my first time setting this watch up. my devices pair up but when i go to paired devices in the gear manager and try to connect, on my phone it says "connecting to gear" and the gear just has the "to connect to your mobile device, select the name of this gear in the samsung gear application" message
*EDIT*
got it working . i uninstalled everything that dealt with the gear under app manager in my phone and unpaired the device under bluetooth and re-installed everything again. it re-paired itself and it is working now.
I must have missed an APK somewhere
Glad to hear you got it working. Try some of things I listed as not working and see if you have different results. The more info we have, the better!
Music and images not worming here as well.
if I disconnect from Bluetooth my calls don't get forwarded to my watch. Can't send out text messages as well
Yeah I just want to chime in saying this isn't a fully working solution, but it works enough to keep me satisfied for now.
I'm sure as we get more people wearing these, more will jump on board to fix the issues we have.

Install GPS Spoofer as system app

Hi,
I have tryed on my rooted S6 Edge to install 3 diffrent GPS spoofers as system apps, but cant get it to work.
They disapear and i have to reinstall the apps and then they install in Data/apps again.
Have tryed move the folder from data/apps to system/apps and restart, but dosent help.
Tryed useing Link2SD to move and same there.
Anyone know how to get a GPS spoofer app to install as a system app?
I dont wanna use mock location.
Phone: Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge
Android: 6.0.1 with chainfire auto-root
Thanks,
Sadly I'm having the same problem. I can't move anything to system apps on this device. Once moved, it no longer lists as being installed anymore.
I used CF-Auto Root. I'm curious if a different kernel and/or rom would give different results, as it's feeling like Samsung maybe blocking this for some reason.

When moving to system app ect.. have you set the correct permissions?
Im a noob when it comes to stuff like this but its just a idea
Ahh let me guess, going to use it for pokemon Go! ?
Make sure you don't install it like you would normally. Just use the Apk downloaded.
I got mine to work, download the Fake GPS Location apk, copy the Apk to /System/App/Fake GPS. You will need to make the folder "Fake GPS". Just use root Explorer for this, go back to system/app and set permissions as rwxr-xr-x for the Fake GPS folder.
Then change the Apk permissions to rw-r-r.
Reboot and that should be it, you'll still need to enable mock location app but pokemon won't detect it being in use.

Thanks for the advice. Allowed to successfully set a Fake GPS app as a system app. Sadly though, it's still not working for me with Pokemon Go. Just comes up with Failed to Find Location or whatever the error is. The map shows I'm in the location I set, but no poke stops etc load in the area.
I'm guessing I've still got something else not set up right for this one. I'm on stock 6.0.1 with root via CF-Auto Root. I don't know if any of that would be affecting this or not? But somehow, the game still knows I have the mock location set as it's the exact same error as if I just set it without it being a system app.
Sent from my SM-G925I using XDA-Developers mobile app
Edit: Sadly, I feel like they've patched all of this. As it's not working for me at all. I moved a different paid GPS spoofing app to system apps, and it appears to work fine. However, spinning a poke stop doesn't release any items. Every Pokemon escapes the ball, and flees, and gyms say they are too far away. This is using a paid GPS app, that has an "expert" mode.
The app mentioned above currently just results in a blank map.

I don't think it's patched, it still works for me in Australia. Plus they can't patch it if they can't detect it (system apps are private and arnt installed like a normal apk would be). Try to turn it off, use your real location for 5-10min, swap GPS to the Fake one and place the pin near you and move around from there. Don't place a pin on the other side of the state as it won't load and know you can't travel that distance from last time you loged in. When I drop a pin in the middle of Melbourne it doesn't load no matter what I do. So I just use it around my area to get stuff. Just remember that the Fake GPs isn't going to work flawlessly with pokemon go! As niantic encountered players doing this on ingress, they developed algorithms to make it harder to do so freely. Also servers are unstable atm so drop outs and freezing is common.
Don't forget to hit the thanks button if I helped.

You're right. It appeared to be a soft ban like on Ingress. I should have thought about that before suddenly moving cities. Only lasted a few hours, so not too big a deal. Im curious though if I do it too often, if ill get a permanent ban. As I have an urge to go explore somewhere overseas. I guess best option would be to log out for a day or two before making a drastic jump overseas.
The main problem I'm having now, is trying to repeat your advice. I want to try a gps app with waypoints... so I can set a journey and walk along it. Presumably helping me hatch eggs. Secondly, trying to replicate what I've done on my phone on my GF's phone... neither are installing post reboot. Getting frustrated.
Cheers for the help. Not a regular here on XDA. I'll hit that button now.
Edit: OK, I was doing it wrong. Whoops.
For anyone else confused, below is the process I'm using.
I'm using the paid version FakeGPS as it allows system app installation without having to select the app in mock locations. However just today it's started regularly leaking my real location, making me jump back and forth all the time. Not sure how to solve that one just yet.
So, I install FakeGPS.
Use APK Extractor to save the APK (to storage/emulated/0/apk extract)
Use Root Explorer to make a folder named FakeGPS in /system/app
Use Root Explorer to copy the APK from storage. Paste it into the folder created earlier.
Set APK premissions to rw-r--r
Set folder permissions to rwxr-xr-r
Reboot phone.
Once rebooted, launch FakeGPS and turn Expert Mobe on in settings.
From there, youre good to go.

If your on wifi turn off the wifi spoofing, apparently it can make you rubber band sometimes. I don't have an issue with WiFi or 4g, I just set my location and off I go
Yeah obviously it's not a smart idea to just jump from one country to the next, your account will get flagged and next time you do it someone will be watching your position and then bam permanent ban hammer comes down, maybe even a device block or ip block included.
Personally i just use it when I'm at home and can't go anywhere (it's winter here so it's damn cold in Victoria). Other than that I don't use it to abuse gyms and flood the town of RED gyms. That would be malicious and not so fun. I do it for leveling up a whole bunch of pokemon and getting stocks back up. Then just free roam 5m at a time for pokemon
i can't turn expert mode on. it's greyed out. I got it installed as System App using your instructions. Any ideas?
edit: ok now it is working. Had to put the extracted app in the priv-app folder. Actually it's working great.. my character doesn't jump back and I can catch Pokemom without having any problems..

wrong.. still using it without getting banned. It only checks if you have 'mock location' enabled in your developer settings. Just run fake GPS as a system app, don't move too fast and stay on the roads.

I then open FakeGPS and set a nearby location (has a pokestop) and Fake location engaged appears.
I then open Pokemon Go and it loads my current location (not the location I selected above), It does not move from my physical location and works as normal.
Settings I have on:
Mock locations is off (Fake GPS is not selected)
High accuracy GPS is on (GPS, Wi-Fi, and Mobile Networks)
Improve Accuracy has both Wi-Fi scanning on and Bluetooth scanning on

High accuracy GPS is on (GPS, Wi-Fi, and Mobile Networks)
Improve Accuracy has both Wi-Fi scanning on and Bluetooth scanning on

Try setting GPS to GPS only (no wifi/mobile)
Turn off Wi-Fi and bluetooh scanning.

Module to fake Wi-Fi as Data

I am using one application which force me to turn my data connection to continue with that app. I am on WiFi and have no Sim Card on my device (so no possibility to have real data connection)
I need some thing which can make fool that app that my android is on Data connection instead of WIFI.
Please help me. Thank you.
(Made ton of search on Google and on the forum, without success...
Seen a lot of demand for the exact opposite though)

Huge tanks for your time. Haven't tested the app because unfortunately I can't get more than the version 87 of Xposed and this app requires the version 90
However, still huge thanks, and if you are able to make it fonctionnal with Xposed 87, it would be really awesome.
Still thank you, and have a nice day

Sure.. here you go.
What is the app you are trying to use called?
Thanks a lot, however :
With my android 7 phone, the app can be installed but not running at all, with any activity shown by Titanium backup or in ram activities (work with xposed though)
In Nox Android 5.1.1, the app can't be installed (nox is the main thing i use, the phone is here in order to test)
With all my gratitude for your efforts and time, with the hope (if it's not too much to ask), you can fix that
(And it's an app that show content only when connected with a 4g or data connection)

It will be easier to fix if I know that app's name.. there are a few ways for app to recognize data connection and I implemented one way.

Try this. It should work for Android 4+.
Keep in mind there is no activity for this, it's just an xposed module.. you won't see any icon for it and don't need to open it, just enable it in xposed.
Great thank you, it's installed with the test phone, and ticked on Xposed
But, with Nox with Android 5.1.1, still the same issue
I tried my best to find solutions by myself, and here is what I did
- > Tried to install normaly : Don't Work (app can't be installed)
- > Tried with lucky patcher (on a copy of a clean device) : Still don't work, with the message -> PM Error Failure Install Parse Failed No Certificates and the app was NEVER installed before (was a clean device)
- > Tried to install as a system app with Lucky Patcher : Work, but App not showing in Xposed or any App List (so don't work)
- > Tried to install a backup from my phone where the app was working : No Success
What can I do ? Thanks for your time

Thank you, this helped me. I signed the APK with a newer method that doesn't work on Android versions lower than 7.
Here is the apk signed compatible with android 5.
The app is installed with Nox and the issue is not showing
And wanted to wait longer to tell you if all will still be okay but seems to work really good
Huge thanks, once again
I'm sure that I won't be the only one interested by what you just made
Thank you
Nice app @firefds
It is possible to create version for XposedBridge 54?
Thanks

Hey, I am sorry if I am bothering but i would really be grateful if you could helpl me with this. I have an app that does not run unless it detects data connection instead of wifi.
My question is can I use your module using virtual xposed? if yes, could you guide me through it? thank you

Hi. Have you got a similar app that works the other way around? One that fakes mobile data as a wifi connection? I'm on Android 11.
Old thread but same problem. I have an application that simply will not work on any device that does not or cannot have a mobile data connection. This app believes any of those devices are considered an emulator and therefore will not work on said device. I need to trick this application into thinking Wi-Fi is either mobile data or I need a way for the app to think mobile data is being used. I am using this application on Android 9, or rather lineage OS 16. I have come close to tricking it using several of the apks provided in this thread, but none of them seem to do the trick for a long enough time. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Using Xposed (Lsposed) zygote. And with the latest magisk.
Any one find similar app for ATV Box 9.0, please?
@firefds I can't make ICICI Pockets app work without mobile data connection using the apks attached here. Maybe an update is necessary? I am using Magisk Delta with MagiskHide enabled to hide root from the app, Zygisk is disabled and so using Riru variant of latest LSPosed. Any help would be much appreciated. TIA.
Edit: The app worked after using a VPN but like Wifi it detected VPN use and displayed a warning so maybe in the future they will block this workaround. It would be great if mobile data can be faked.
Edit2: The app seems to work in Wifi directly without resorting to the use of VPN. The app is so riddled with bugs that it's hard to say anything with certainty.
There used to be an module called "Anynet" and it used to do same.. Maybe OP can make a module like that for all of us
