Hello!
I have a rather annoying issue with the headphone jack on my p9000, it is heavily distorted.
When i'm playing music through the headphone jack in my car, the sound is just awfull on this phone!
loud crackling noises and heavy distortion on all volumes, even though the audio "enhacements" that comes out of the box is disabled. I've tried with multiple other phones and cables and i only experience this problem with the elephone p9000.
Is it just me having this problem? if not, any ideas?

Hi.
Do you have stockrom?
If you have eragon, then you have ViperAudio. Take a look in it.
If you're on stockrom, then i can't help you.

Running stock rom with root/busybox and xposed.
Do you think this might be a software issue?

My mic is just fine, it's the headphone jack that is having issues.

Hi.
Its worth a try.
On stockrom is everything way to silent.
With viperaudio you get other libs. And with it, an equalizer.

Go to the service center. No other option left, since it is a hardware issue.
Regards.
After a month or so I recognized (it wasn't always so I think) that my headphone are playing rustling noises in the background. So I tried another headphones - the same.
I tried youtube, Apple music and my normal downloaded music. I tried it also with viper4android (and other music amplifiers) and even with another Rom (cm13, aosp, sailfishos, ...) Do you think that the headphone Jack of my loved oneplus x is broken?
Has somebody this problem too?
Thank you and sorry for my "little-germans-english"
Greetings, IchBinNoob
I'm using the original one Plus headphones and have no background noise. Tested OOS, AICP, AOSP PARADOX, BLISSROM.

What headphone are you using? Apple compatible one's?
With mic integrated?
The contacts are not the same.

I tried it with my Razer Kraken (which are really good working on other phones), Apple earpods and a Sony headphone.

Hey Guys.
I'm creating this thread since I did not find any other old thread about this issue.
When a song or any audio output is done through the Redmi Note 3's Speaker or when it is connected to a Amplifier like a car stereo then there's an Awkward ssssss or Hissing sound.
I've used Two Different models of the Redmi Note 3 thanks to Amazon and both of them have this.
It has a very very low possibility of hardware error.
When a song is played at 1/7 of the total volume, put your ear near the device speaker and listen carefully. You might notice a weird hissing sound. It goes away when there is deep and strong bass but is there lots of times.
Using an amplifier it is most noticeable at lower volumes.
I hope you people understand.
Respond ASAP!

I too faced that situation... But in my case..
The 3.5 mm jack is broken..
I mean.. There's no problem with the phone.. But in sound system I use...
Have you checked this problem with other speakers ...??

Hey,
I actually have noticed this when I played music in my Car and also from the phone's Speaker itself!
Both when the volume is Very Low....
I know it's not a problem with my piece because I've checked with many RN3 Users and same issue is being detected there too.
My RN3 is new and in superb Condition and so are the other Appliances like the Car Stereo I used.
Even then this Hiss sound is there.
I wonder of its a problem with the Chipset altogether since there isn't a sound/music chip in it...
I hope it's a software issue and gets resolved fast...
When recording sound from the speaker output yes the sound is levied towards the high end, this is probably what causes the hissing sound in your amplifier since it can't properly amplify that freq or something along those lines, I'm not too sure since I'm no sound engineer but that's just my 50 cent.
Edit
Dumb me, your amplifier is probably a 3.5mm headphone Jack right? If so then there shouldn't be this issue and my above statement wouldn't apply ;-;
I noticed this when using Viper Audio. There was a small but noticeable hissing in the left earphone. It went away when I turned off playback gain control.
Maybe check if any equalisers or headphone effects are on and turn them off?

I had checked everything possible. I even did now.
No part of the settings, equalizer, audio effects could fix it....
And where's the option you're talking about for playback gain control? I'm still unrooted with a locked bootloader on MIUI V7.2.3.0LHOMIDA
The sound is there in both speakers in my case. I'm not using anything other than the stock music application and some great songs on an amplifier I.e. Cars stereo
Anybody has got the solution? I am also facing same issue ??

Not till now.
I've bought this Bluetooth audio adaptor that serves my purpose in the car.
Funnily nobody at Mi noticed this.
I'll do a bug report highlighting this issue.
Everyone else plase do too!

I have also dropped them a mail. Will also report bug. Thank you for your solution but I'll probably have to wait as my car system does not support Bluetooth.

Even mine didn't support Bluetooth.
If your Stereo supports USB and Aux in, you can also go for the adapter since it only needs those two.
USB for Power and Aux In for the Music.

I had a similar problem. Whenever I connected my headphones to my Redmi Note 3, there would be a weird hissing noise at low volumes especially. At higher volumes, it would reduce. I found a fix to this on Reddit, but you need to be rooted.

Looks like a legacy. We are well into 2017 and the issue still exists. I bought my RN3 a couple of weeks ago and noticed the hissing on the third day of use. I just have been ignoring it. After all, it's a Chinese phone. I bought it and I have to live with it.
Good afternoon! The solution for problems with Redmi Note 3 and AUX is the following (solves the problem of correct detection and noise during playback): it is necessary to solder or otherwise connect resistors with a rating of 10 ohms between the common "0" wire and the left and right channel wires (I did 17 Ohm , did 10 ohms - both options work).
After you make this cable, the sequence of actions is as follows: the cable is first inserted into the smartphone, wait for the icon to appear with the headphones, and then insert into the AUX-input of the radio or audio system.
I'm using the tmobile v20 and noticed this morning that my DAC wasn't impacting the sound quality of Google Play Music at ALL. I have been using a v10 for the past year and I could tell that the DAC wasn't working, or it was broken, because my non-DAC listening on the v20 paled in comparison to the v10 with DAC on.
I went ahead and installed the DAC Fix for V10 and it seems to have fixed my issue. In case any of you aren't noticing the DAC working on streaming apps, try this. So far I've had no issues.

Funny, listening to Google Play Music with my leftover Note 7 earbuds I hear a distinct difference when I toggle the HI-FI on and off. I tried installing the V10 fix app and can hear no difference enabling or disabling it. I did see that the settings for Hi-Fi say "The sound has been automatically adjusted to the connected audio device". Could the type of headphones/earbuds determine if it engages?
T-Mobile edition of the V20.
I also hear a big difference on my T-Mobile unit. I'm using a set of Skullcandy earphones, and toggling off/on is immediately noticeable.
I ended up testing some more...I turned off the DAC fix, yet the toggle still worked. So I uninstalled the DAC fix completely and the toggle STILL works. I guess my unit was stuck in the "off" position for some reason, but it's working fine now. Weird. Sounds so much better with the DAC on.
The DAC fix makes no difference on my V10. Once the dolby atmos is turned on and Viper, the sound quality is superior. My V20 is arriving today and I'm sure with my 1More earphones and that 32bit DAC my ears will cry for mercy.
I wasn't able to replicate your problem, but I must say... This audio quality is far superior than any other phone I've ever used, finally something deserving to be used with Denon Urban Raver's.
Soooo is the DAC fix only for streaming apps such as Google play?
This is my main source of music...
Im comparing the headphone DAC on the s7 and the v20 and they almost sound the same, Im activating and turning off the Hi FI on the v20. Im using an audio technika m50x. Should i donwload the app to fix the dac? im using a video from youtube to do the testing. going to use google music songs that i have download to see if there is a difference.

Other people's DAC worked fine for streaming apps without the fix. Mine WASN'T working, but now it is. I can't say why. But I'm like you. I use GPM for my daily music.

I'll tell you right now, if you can't notice it, it isn't working. You don't even have to be close to an audiophile to notice, it's just simply 3x better.

It is quite noticeable on every music app I've used. The best way I would say is just listen to some music you like. I wouldn't know how to fix it, mine works perfectly. Try a factory reset?
Edit: I just moved from the S7 edge, and the difference is quite clear. I even think it's much better without the hi-fi turned on, but with it on it's significantly better too.

Sennheiser Momentum In-ear, SteelSeries Siberia Elite Prism headset, and both Samsung and apple ear buds that come with phones. There isn't a pair I can't tell the difference on. I even did a blind listen test with my wife, and she confirmed that it sounds better on the samsung ear buds she uses (included with S7 edge).

I figured out a very easy way to tell. If your phone doesn't mute music for 1/2 a second when you turn it on, it isn't turning on. It should have a 1/2 second mute when enabling or disabling.
It does. So i imagine is better in the clarity or something. Because it doesnt sound louder than the s7.

how you are connecting them? first the cable to the phone and then to the headphones? or just plugging them
This dac fix did nothing for quality for me listening through my Bose QC15's couldn't tell a difference

Hi Everyone.
I'm experiencing the (now common issue) of my Note 3 Pro detecting headphones that aren't plugged in. This has made my phone unusable unless i have headphones plugged in as no sound comes out the speakers.
I'm guessing this is a hardware issue that won't be solved by flashing a custom rom. Any suggestions apart from returning my device?

You can use the app SoundAbout to set where you want your sound output by default.
Is not a very friendly app to set up, but it would certainly do the trick.
