Hi!
I got some major problems with my G3. I was on stock Android 6 (rooted). Worked fine for some months. Then I decided to encrypt the phone and activated this option in the normal android settings. After some time the phone restarted and I got the "Encryption unsucccessful" page and cannot do anything anymore.
After reading through the help forums I tried the following steps to solve it:
- factory reset
- wipe eveything in twrp and flashed system, boot, modem manually to Android 6 again
- repaired all filesystem partitions in twrp
- many many more factory resets
All didn't help. The only thing that changed is that when coming to the "Encryption unsucccessful" page now the phone hangs up after the next option I choose (shut down or restart or factory reset) so I have to take out the battery to restart or shut down.
Any suggestions how to solve it and maybe also any suggestions what might have gone wrong? Don't want to kill the next phone the same way by just enabling encryption!?

Hi everybody, I have a problem and I don't know what to do, so I'm hoping I can get some help with this.
I bought a used cheap tablet off ebay a few months ago. It looked new and came with everything, but its always had software issues. It would be working fine then it would get infinite errors saying various android processes have stopped, it would automatically close apps when I tried to run them, and would prevent me from even changing the settings. This was a frequent problem which I solved by doing a factory reset. This was practically an everyday occurrence until I learned to clear the cache several times a day, which gave me probably around 5 to 7 days before I would have to reset it.
Well, the other day my tablet froze up and wasn't responding. I left it for a long time with no change. I turned it off and rebooted and was greeted by the infinite error problem. I turned it off and cleared the cache from the recovery menu. I tried to boot the tablet and it got stuck at the shiny android logo and won't go past that point. It won't boot into safe mode either.
I tried to do a factory reset like I've done countless times. As soon as I tell it to do the factory reset it says...
-- Wiping data...
Formatting /data...
and.. it does nothing. It never finishes or gets past this point. Not knowing what to do I've turned it off and tried again, I've tried rebooting it but it still won't go past the android logo. I've tried just letting it sit while supposedly "formatting" but that didn't do any good either. Has anyone else encountered this problem before?
I've been trying to figure out how to fix it as I'm broke and can't just go buy another tablet. I'm assuming my only option at this point is to flash a rom, but does it need to be rooted in order to do that? Can I even flash a rom when the tablet won't even do a factory reset and format the data?
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
I rooted my S6 Edge a couple of days ago with no problems. I later added xposed and a couple of modules, no problem (apart from swipeback needing removed after it disabled my camera/gallery). Last night I shut my phone down and put it on the charge for the night. Today after turning it on it was stuck in a boot loop. I have been searching for fixes but there seem to be many different scenarios. I have tried to boot to recovery multiple times to do a wipe partition cache as that seems to the general fix. Problem is I am only able to get into TWRP. So I tried to do a default wipe with TWRP (Says wipes Data, Cache, and Delvik (not including internal storage) ). My phone now only boots to logo before shutting back off. I assume anyway because it isn't boot looping anymore and holding the power button gets the same result, logo then black screen again.
I am able to get into TWRP menu though I should add just about any option I choose, after it executes/completes the phone freezes and needs to be forced off/restarted. It has done this since TWRP was installed.
I am also able to get to ODIN mode.
If I remember correctly it is the G925F Global model. Running 6.0.1 stock, rooted using SpaceX kernal.
This is the process I used to root: edit: Seems I cannot link until I have at least 10 posts. How to Root Galaxy S6/S6 Edge on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow!
BY MAX LEE google that and top result should be the site I used.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. If you would need anymore info I will gladly do my best to give it. I would like to fix this without losing all my data, apps pics music etc. But if all else fails I am prepared for that.
Sup guys, so i just had a really strange problem that popped out randomly, i was watching a youtube video and i had to help a person quickly and when i came back just a minute later i saw my phone showing encryption unsuccessfull when i pressed the power button to turn my screen on. Well it said to factory reset my phone, i don't store any important data on my phone anyways so i just went for it, and it restarted went to my TWRP recovery and tried factory reseting it, to no success. It basically failed to access /data/ and other directories and i can't see any files in them through recovery. And so i can't even factory reset it, i can't install a ROM cause the partition is corrupt i assume. How can i "unbrick" this? I was running the good old Temaseks CM 12.1 ROM, has been working fine for a looong time. My PC recognizes the phone but i can't access any data, it just shows that it's connected, odin doesn't recognize it.
Can somebody help me please ? I use my phone alot and it's really important.
I'm using a stock Huawei Phone with no major modifications (no root, no custom roms and stuff, changed into a custom launcher tho). Suddenly today I can't access my phone because somehow it has partially encrypted itself or something and now I can't even boot my phone, let alone access my data. Here I should point out that at no point did I try to encrypt my data so I'm baffled why something like this should happen. Anyway my phone said I have to factory reset my data and it took me to this recovery screen with the option to wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache partition. I do so and then reboot. But the same thing keeps happening. I wiped data a few times to no avail. I removed my SD card but it didn't work either.
I can't open my phone anymore. The data on my phone isn't that important - most of it backed up. Here's my phone specifications-
Model: Huawei Y625-U32 (Android system recovery says its Y625-U32V100R001C567B105 if it helps)
Os: Android 4.4
I can't remember the other specs, but here's the product page on Huawei: consumer.huawei.com/pk/mobile-phones/tech-specs/huawei-y625-pk.htm
It seems that I can apply updates to my phone from external sources and there is a firmware update on my phone (consumer.huawei.com/pk/mobile-phones/support/downloads/huawei-y625-pk.htm). Will this fix my phone?
I don't know why something like this is happening. Should I be worried that this is the work of a virus?
My phone is a little obscure so it's hard to find help online. I would really appreciate your help guys.
Hi Everyone,
Since LG was shutting down their developper tools on the 31st of December, I decided it was time for me to finally install Lineage OS. Unfortunately there occured some problems however. I was hoping some of you could help me troubleshooting and possibly fixing it!
The version I wanted to install is the following version, LineageOS 18: https://www.cyanogenmods.org/lg-v30-lineageos-18/
The guide refers to the following guide to install TWRP, this was done succesfully: https://www.cyanogenmods.org/forums/topic/how-to-install-twrp-and-root-lg-v30/ . I did however lose my phone's data, but I've accepted that already.
I then proceeded to following step, the flashing LineageOS step, in the guide: https://www.cyanogenmods.org/forums/topic/flash-install-custom-rom-twrp-recovery/
In this step a problem occured. It stated that the drive I tried to flash to was encrypted. I could flash LineageOS however I could not boot into it. I needed a password to unencrypt the data. I did not have this password (it was not my phones PIN, SIM PIN or Google account). I wanted to try the flashing process again but format the drive first (since I lost my data anyway, I didn't really care). After formatting the system needed a reboot.
The reboot however is stuck. It always goes instantly to the 1st time boot of Lineage OS (while I haven't reflashed yet). It just gets stuck there (I left it on overnight, still no signs of progress). I tried force rebooting using the powerkey+volumedown, that still works, but I can't turn it completely off. Some googling shows that people suggest reflashing the Lineage OS, but that clearly doesn't work because I can't get into TWRP.
I am currently trying to let Lineage OS drain the battery completely and then upon fresh start up try to boot into the TWRP menu and refresh.
The model I have is the LG V30 H930 (no T-Mobile variants or whatsoever).
Some questions that I have:
1. Did I screw up my phone?
2. If 1. is "No not yet", what are some possible solutions?
Kind regards,
Hidde
