Hey guys! I just found the apk for the HTC Sense 8 Home that they released to beta testers for non-HTC devices. It's only a beta so it may have issues here and there. It even comes with HTC themes!

Only thing I've noticed is that the grid sizes aren't optimized for tablets.

it is saying app not installed.....
Did it give you some kind of warning about it being unsafe? If so, click the little arrow at the bottom right and you should see an option to "install anyway (unsafe)."

Is it me or is the official Facebook app for the HTC One seem to be the older version? I seem to remember that the Facebook app for Android was updated to act more like the one on iOS, but the one that's on the HTC One seems to be the older, not as smooth, version Android used to have. I've checked the market for updates, but it doesn't show one available, and I am running version 3.1 it shows.
That's the one I have too I think that's the latest

I could of swore that my note 2's app had it where u swipe right it pulls up the menu pane. Its close to current though. I just hate the stupid menu virtual key that shows up in half of my apps.

I just added a mod to the dev section to remove the 3 dot on screen menu and also give you the long press back button for menu option in Display, Gesture, and Button settings

Yeah, I had a Note 2 before and it seemed the Facebook app on that phone was much quicker, more intuitive, and had the built-in gestures.

Seems like we're using an HTML-based version of facebook on the One. Scrolling is really laggy like you said. Much better experience on the iphone.
No, the One comes with a newer version of Facebook, not the old HTML5 version. The HTML5 version was actually a lot smoother than the newer versions, so I wish we had that.
I'm trying to find a way to get rid of that power save notification but I can't find a way help please..

For now, you can long press it the notification, get App Info, and force close. This will make the notification go away. It'll come back on a device reboot, but at least this might hold you over.
Custom Rom fixed that for me!

If you root your phone, install "Xposed Installer" and download the "MoDaCo Toolkit" module, you'll be able to turn on a feature which allows your to disable any system notification you want, just by viewing the app's info.
The benefit of this is that the power saving app will still function.
I still have sense. Trick droid Rom is mostly stock with nice added features like removing the 3 dots and mapping the menu to the HTC logo.

As one person stated, just install Xposed Toolkit... easy, quick and safe.

Here is the Beta apk for the Tapatalk 4 public beta! Once you install the app it will auto update to the latest version.

As a side note THIS IS ONLY COMPATIBLE WITH ANDROID 4.0+
THAT MEANS DO NOT INSTALL ON GINGERBREAD

Released on the play store! Have fun!

So far I'm not finding it to be very user friendly...
It takes some getting used to. Its very gesture based. Swipe left or right to change thread pages. Tap the top bar drop down menu (not settings 3 dot) to quickly change forum directory. Tap the Tapatalk logo to bring up all your subscriptions and notifications
HTC ONE! Everything your phone isn't!
Plus when not viewing a specific thread swiping right open the quick bar.
In addition it uses PUSH notifications as opposed to PULL notifications. Way better on battery and efficiency

What's the difference between push and pull? I never get notification on my phone but my n7 I do

PUSH notifications is a Google API in which notifications are pushed to your phone using the Google Framework and Servers.
PULL notifications is where your phone pings a server at designated times.
Push uses no battery. Pull uses a lot.
Something along those lines

I currently have 3 hidden apps, but I do not see anyway to unhide them. Google says to scroll down the menu bar but its only 5 options and I am just stuck, does anyone know how to do this on the htc one x+?
edit:
here is what I have tried, going to the hide app menu and seeing if i could uncheck the app, it doesnt show up but has a counter as if it is still hidden.
I have tried scrolling past the last page to see if the apps showed up and they still have not.
I have tried to see if there was an option under my settings > app > (hidden app's name) and there is no option
What launcher

Just tested hiding an app. Ok.
To unhide an app click menu hide app. Scroll to the end of the list and it should be there.

thank you soo much, i feel stupid now.
Received an update for my google maps last night. Can anyone confirm what changed from the received update a few days ago? Searched online and only find info about iOS updating nothing about Android. Just curious
Seems to be smoother than the initial release. A lot if people are claiming the settings are easier to navigate through but honestly I didn't use the settings before so I can't personally comment.
It was likely a general bug fix following the initial release of a fully overhauled app

Saw it mentioned in the changelog but, haven't put it to use, cars navigation does this already.
I think it includes the button to cache offline maps

it was taken out then added back in in the latest update, now its at the very bottom of the search screen
I tried it for about two minutes, and I couldn't find the option to change route after nav started, or to avoid tolls after its already started navigating.

That is easy and has been available since the previous version. I thought it was kind of redundant the few times I used it and had to go to the Routes & Layers tab and see three different routes (if available) pop up. I used that option that way a few times in the past, I want to see it do it automatically like the Garmins with HD-Traffic, since that is how they showed it in the examples.
Was there the option to avoid tolls? On the old maps, it was three touches from currently navigating to turn off tolls

Kinda a pain but....
click the "X" in the lower left corner to cancel current route
touch the address at the top
click route options
check avoid tolls
click done
select new route and continue
I like to set navigation shortcuts on my home screen. One touch for home, mom's house, sister's house, and ect. So it's one touch to start navigation, and then when I'm getting within a hundred miles from tolls, three touches to avoid them.
