I have been trying to unlock/root my verizon inc 4g lte for almost a week now, and I am having no luck. When i put the token in the htc dev sight i get:
Error Code: 172.
Error Reason: CID Not Allowed (MID not exist in Model Rule).
is there a way around this??
I read about Hasoon's all in one toolkit, and i tried version 1. no luck. I found that there is a v.2, but i could not find a link to it anywhere. I feel like if i could just find the v.2 i could give it a try, but i am concerned that i will never get past the htc dev sight as long as i keep getting the error.
does this mean that rooting/unlocking this phone in not possible?
is there another way? if so, how?
Please, please help me. My girlfriend is going to leave me if i keep dumping hours and hours into trying to root this damn phone. It has become a fixation though. I either want to find out how, or hear from a reliable source that it just isn't possible so i can stop trying.
Thank you for reading,

So, being a long time Samsung user (sgs1, infuse, sgs2, sgs3) and knowing how to use it fairly comfortably I decided to go against the grain and try HTC again (Previously Aria, Inspire 4g, One X) I was familiar with most of the terms used and was excited for the changes since gold-keys. My question is, I am currently on an att HTC One with 4.2.2 Cleanrom. I keep hearing about this new radio I cant have because I am not S-Off. Is ther anyway possible, either by reverting/RUUing back to get the update and then go back to cleanrom?
I am not exactly a novice, but by no means an expert...i have searched for the better part of the morning and am stumped...any advice or pointers, or heck even a full walkthrough (ixrs and torxx had full walkthroughs which was a life saver coming back from Samsung land)
On another note, I know the only reason for S-off is for radio, hence why i am interested personally...i know all the warnings and why it is the way it is through the htcdev site, but is there another method for S-Off without paying that company yet...i may have missed it in my search but i figured someone may kow just by reading this.
Figured it out...looks like I was looking for the wrong thing...here is the link for anyone else who has S-On and wants S-Off:

S-off not required if only wanting to flash radio. Radio can be flashed in recovery.
Other firmware files need s-off and superCID to flash if you're not flashing the firmware zip for your model.
Check radio threads for zip files formatted to flash in recovery.

I have searched in every possible way to find the info but just not finding quite what i am looking for, my apologies is i am simply experiencing temporary stupidity or inability to manage a search engine.
Having to go back to an old device until able to replace a lost phone. It is an Incredible 4g which was flashed to page plus years ago, when only 3g was available. seeing where they state that these devices require unflashing, which i have never heard of. could anyone please share any info, rumors or whatever you got that may help.
Thanks

Is it S-OFF? If so, might be able to easily nuke it back to zero with an RUU and start over. If not, check the baseband version and follow the easiest method to achieve S-OFF.
Alright laddies an gents. First for most i know and understand i stand on one leg when speaking when it comes to credibility being this is logically my first post.
Either way it goes i have spent literally the past 71 hours trying to break in this little beast. i have a problem with not giving up at all cost.
I would post this in the dev area to seek further help an give info people are begin for but i am not able to.
I can an will PROVIDE ALL Proof STEP FOR STEP in the way i did it. NOTE I DID BRICK MY PHONE 38 times before i got the method to a T an then i unrooted an rerooted many times to be sure.
PLEASE NOTE THE MOST IMPORTANT Thing I DID NOT MAKE OR CREATE ANYTHING I literally googled the CRAP out of my ISP an spent most my hours on here trying to figure out new ways to brick my phone. LOL
Questions i see everywhere before asked. Yes everything works.
I have the phone rooted. i disabled Knox. i have it international unlocked.
The kicker. i need it domestic unlocked. no clue here. just like many others.
I know loads of people said if they could get root they could get some sort of modem file.
Tell me what to do an what you need. I will provide. I will even go as far as letting remote into my computer. To allow you to do what you need to.
I beg everyone please refrain from questions of how or this an that. I am on a mission here to get this Domestic unlock an i am at the step that the devs need people to be at but seemingly no one has came to yet. till now.
If you need screen shots or step for step let me know. I AM A NOVICE With Phones always following tuts.. I am BY NO MEANS a novice at computers though. I have MANY certs. This is the FIRST forum i have ever posted in to ever reach out cause well typically i can find the answer. but no one has the answer for this. I have whats needed to get us end goal though. I not know what to do with it. or how to get to it after getting root. If i am wrong in any of this please tell me.
ONCE MORE. I CREATED NOTHINg. I TAKE NO CREDITS FOR ANYTHINg. I simply put a load of peoples ideas to trial an after many failures. I decided to put there combined ideas together. So TO THE DEVS. LETS HEAR It. What do you need. I am the genie pig i am NOt afraid to brick this puppy 10000000 more times to get this right.
Hello, Some poor soul posted (BELOW) this YEARS ago, and never got any help (other than the single, typical, 'go search' 'reply', NOT MUCH HELP when you DON'T KNOW THE FILE-NAME)
I'll just repeat what he said, it's the same thing i'm looking for. I just want 1080p video record on the device, I don't have time to learn another new technical speciality... I can only use official ROMS, None of the half-baked, home-brewed partial ROMS that come with lists of hands in the air, (i didn't do it) warnings of problems and bricking no thanks,.. (right?)
I don't know what 'S-OFF' means and it could takes months to find out here as the simplest of questions can go YEARS w/ no decent attention, I've never seen a forum like this one, One guy actually has 'I WILL IGNORE STUPID QUESTIONS' as his SIGNATURE.... There are no Stupid questions, only stupid Punks who hoarde info because the info TIDBIT (Small as it is, like their EGO...),, its the only thing they have to Feel Important...
I'm hoping this can be a simple double click, wait and done. It is an old phone I took apart, replaced half the innards and screen and now it works, it would be whatever original stuff it came with, I don't need any data on it...
THE POOR SOULS UN-ANSWERED REQUEST:
"Hi all. I'm new to xda. I have been trying to manually update my HTC EVO 4G LTE to Android 4.3, however HTC is no longer hosting the files. I was wondering if anyone knew where i could download HTC's software update?
It used to be here tinyurl.com/n279mpk
The link would download a 866MB executable. Thank you for any advice.."
As you can CLEARLY see, HE DOES NOT KNOW the name of the file, SO being told to Search is useless, NOTHING is EVER Explained Here,.. I find it PATHETIC that this community let that question lapse for YEARS with that single RESPONSE, SHAME ON YOU. HANG YOUR SELFISH HEADS IN SHAME. How is he, or Me or Anyone New, to EVEN KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE:
"SPRINT HTC EVO 4G LTE ANDROID DEVELOPMENT" Category, and the:
"SPRINT HTC EVO 4G LTE ORIGINAL ANDROID DEVELOPMENT" Category.... All Greek to anyone not ALREADY IN THE KNOW, HENCE THE QUESTION 2 YEARS AGO.....
So The NON-ORIGINAL category is What? New Ones? and the ORIGINAL category is for Original Copies of Official HTC Releases? OR Perhaps ORIGINAL, Means not ORIGINAL, BUT NEW? OR,... I certainly don't see any CLUES in the categories:
InsertCoin Sense, JEWEL CyanogenMod 12.1, PAC-ROM LP-MR1 Beta3 Weeklies,
NONE OF THIS SAYS:
HTC 4G 4.3 Approved APk 866MB executable formerly hosted at tinyurl.com/n279mpk (OR WHATEVER...) AND NEITHER SEEMS LIKE IT WOULD HAVE A LINK TO ANYTHING OFFICIAL!??!
SO WHY SEND SOMEONE BLINDLY TO "SEARCH" YOU THINK HE WASN'T SEARCHING ALREADY?
THIS PLACE MAN, THIS PLACE.... YOUNG INSECURE MALES HOARDING INFO BECAUSE IT BOLSTERS THEIR WEANING EGO AND NO OTHER REASON.
I NEVER SEE ANYONE GET ANY HELP HERE SO WHAT THE HELL IS THE DAMN POINT?
If there is a GOOD, Android 4.3+ UPDATE FOR STANDARD SPRINT HTC 4G, (NOT USED AS A PHONE, ONLY A TELESCOPE AND MICROSCOPE EYEPIECE CAMERA) That doesn't have strange 'rooting' (?) or S-OFF (?) Requirements then PLEASE, Let Me and the next 100 People to come here, KNOW !
Check out my HTC EVO 4G LTE Hboot guide in my signature. It has a lot of good info contained in it.
As far as updating to Android 4.3, there is a RUU available to do so. You can find it in the aforementioned Hboot guide, along with instructions on how to install it. The instructions can be found in the RUU section of my Hboot guide. The RUU is from HTC and does not require S-off or a rooted device.

Thanks! GOT IT! Thanks!
Glad to help.
Were there any other questions about definitions or specific help with the HTC Evo 4G LTE (Jewel)?
I'd be happy to help. Anything from "What is a ROM?" to "How can I post a patch to gerrit?" I have written a couple of guides in the past, and I have done work to make custom ROMs easier to build for this device (hopefully "answering" many questions for you).
Feel free to post here, in the different ROM forums, or message me.
Hello, everyone. I'm sorry if this is a repeat question, but I am seriously at my wit's end here.
Awhile ago I got myself an CC Ascend Mate 2 and was looking to update it to either Lollipop or Marshmallow. I'm a little new to this kind of thing, but thankfully there seem to be enough guides out there on the internet to work with .
What I cannot work out is unlocking the bootloader.
I've searched everywhere I could for all the methods to get the code for this beginning part, and all of them either no longer works or does not seem to be an option judging by other comments on this and other forums. I first tried this unlocker toolkit as suggested in a guide I found online (Can't link for now, being new and all), only to find out that this no longer works. Then I read about having to email HUAWEI for the code. While I have yet to do this, I have read this no longer works due to them redirecting you to an automated unlocker page online, which I also cannot get to work for the life of me. I always seem to get a "server is busy" error, no matter how many times I've tried to access it. Shortly after that, I found Super Bass's video which showed him getting the code from accessing the Chinese version of the site. While I can actually access that, it changed somewhat since his video to require actually typing in the model and requiring a product ID. I tried downloading a Huawei product ID generator, based on what I've read and watched after that, and inputting the ID for HUAWEI Y300-0000 after inputting my IMEI number, and now it says that my SN and IMEI do not match.
I am certainly not the most tech-savvy person out there, especially when it comes to rooting, and installing ROMs onto phones. But I feeling I'm getting way too much of a headache when I have barely even started anything yet. Even though a lot of information regarding unlocking and support for the Ascend Mate 2 seems a little outdated, some people have found success with it just barely 2 months ago with these methods that I am now struggling to get to work. If anybody could lend a hand, that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.
P.S. Another quick question. I read that after unlocking the bootloader I have to change my phone from CC to OEM. Is that absolutely required and what happens if I try to proceed without doing so? Thank you once more.
Pm Me your numbers I believe you need model, producy, and serial, and IMEI off of THE BOX .
Can I try PMing you my numbers Davinci? Been trying but without luck sadly.
