Problem with Internal storage After Adopting SD Card . "insufficient storage".
So since song disabled this feature , I adopted sd card with ADB. and it's done . divided the 32 gb card with about 25 adopted and 5 as an sd card.
the problem is . the device doesn't recognize the extra space from sd card , it still give me error as "insufficient storage" once the total amount of storage reach 16 GB , and refuse to do download anymore , even this 16 GB isn't all on internal storage , most of it I have moved to the sd card "adopted one " , I can't upload photos or show links at the moment so I hope I made it clear .. in other words
when I go to storage
it shows that device storage 6.34gb total used out of 16 gb
but right underneath it . it shows 14gb out of 16 gb
the added amount is from adopted sd card , which show this amount when i click on it .
and right underneath the part i set as normal sd card storage ...
I don't know what to do to let this device know that , it still have space in internal storage , as most of the apps r on the adopted card .. it is not still 16 gb total ... .....
idk if that explains , but i looked everywhere and idk what to do without rooting the device ... even with the adopted 25 gb , i still can't do much ...
please help!
Did you get any fix for this? I'm having a similar problem.
Sent from my Sega Mega Drive

I have a problem ... The tablet has his internal 4gb storage ... I puted a SD Card and it red it ... But in file manager it doesnt seen nothing ... I dont have any space on internal so I try to install games ffrom the sd card bu i doesnt seen it ....
I moved all the games on the SD Card and if i start the game he say the sd data doesnt exist
HELPPP
These devices seem to use Internal and SD Card to reference the internal memory.
In file manager check for "extsd" this should be your SD Card.
Confusing I know....
I have searched high and low for an answer to this but cannot seem to find one. I have recently rooted my NT to use CM 10 and everything appears to be working fine save one exception. I have an external SanDisk 32 GB class 4 card that I am using and it only shows 1GB available when it is installed in my NT. Here are the things I have tried without any luck.
** reformat SD card using SDFormatter.
** double check the partitioning using mini tool and verified that there is only one partition 32GB, FAT 32.
** put the SD card in my laptops SD card reader and I see that all 32 GB are available.
** put the SD card back in my NT and uses AppMgrIII to move the app to external SD, then ejected the SD and saw that the app was no longer available so I know what my NT is calling the SD is in fact my external SD card.
The only thing I have not tried is a new SD. Any clues?
EDIT:
One note, when I go into Settings --> Storage I see two sections marked internal storage and one SD card section.
Internal Storage 1
Total Space 3.97GB
Internal Storage 2
Total Space 29.71 GB (This is my external SD card)
SD Card
Total Space 1.00GB

The 1 GB you see listed is actually internal emmc. Your 32 GB sd is actually 29.71 GB formatted. Your internal user media is 3.97 GB.
This is how internal memory is allocated-
1 GB RAM+1 GB emmc+4GB media+2GB (split between OS and /data)=8GB model.
1 GB RAM+1 GB emmc+4GB media+10GB (split between OS and /data)=16GB model
You did not mention if you have the 8 or 16 GB model. Either way there is nothing wrong with your memory allocation.
I have the 16 GB model. When I try to move apps to SD does it shows it moving to the 1GB sd card which you said was the internal emmc. I will play around some more to see if I can get some more evidence. Thank you for answering!

Are you running an app that mounts/swaps emmc as SD?
No
If you're using paranoid android it swaps the internal storage and SD card. Nothing to be worried about, but if you want it swapped use the succulant build.
did you figure this out? My nook color running 4.0.2 does the same thing (shows 2 external sd cards), and installs all the "sd apps" to the smaller sdcard1 partition instead of my actual external sdcard2. How do I tell it to treat my actual sd as the external sd so I can put all my apps on it?
many thanks

It is "figured out" for OP in the replies. To switch on your build, try asking in the Color forum section. There may be a zip to flash or maybe a change to be made in the build prop. But you need to check it for your device and ROM.
oops sorry, I had so many tabs open researching this I didn't realize this wasn't the NC forum. I have asked in there on a few threads, hopefully something will turn up.
thanks!
Hi all,
i have some question
today i got a message "Storage Space Running Out"
i have internal card with 12 gb, and external card with 8 gb
one solution that i found is to partition the internal card, install link2sd app and link all the apps to the partition that i made
so, this what i did.
after i did that, i increased the memory but still not much i have now 350 mb free
first question is why it happens? i had this problem few times, what can i do to solve this problem?
second, after partition internal card i cant see external card no in the device and no in the computer
thank you!
i found some similar thread but nothing comes with specific answer, so i decide to post a new one.
device : Acer Iconia B1-A71
is there any way to swap internal STORAGE to internal SD ?.
or swap internal STORAGE to external SD ?.
i want to play a game so bad, called 千メモ!【つなゲー】サウザンドメモリーズ [RPG].
bcz this game consume internal storage so much, it needed about 1GB or more, but internal storage is only about 800MB more or less.
and it always says insuficient after many times download and failed.
this is sucks that this game consume internal storage instead of internal SD / external SD.
so, is there any way ?.
thanks in advance.

Hi everywone.
I watch more tutorials how and not help me.
I have problem one on my device.
Problem is memory in internal storage (1gb)
In settings->storage i have:
"Internal storage" , "Sd card storage" and "Phone storage"
3x storage, one is my "sd card extern"
All my apps/data/cache going to Internal Storage.
Phone storage always is empty and cant move on phone storage.
On sd card i can move all apps because i have rooted device.
Ok problem is not move apps, problem is so many apps using more "cache" and "data" and saving only in "Internal storage2 /data"
I want cache and data move to sd card or bind auto going to sd card folder like "data" "cache" and other..
No on internal storage. Because i need more spaces.
Internal storage its 1gb.
SD card: 16gb
Phone storage: 1gb
Idk why phone storage its not combine with internal storage like "ONE" and have 2gb.
Can u help me guys ?
I watch one tutorial say like: download: ES FILE explorer in root main find: system/etc/vold.fstab
If open vold.fstab replace line: sdcard0 to sdcard 1 and down sdcard1 to sdcard0.
If i do this i only replace: SD card storage with Phone storage and not help for me that because i want replace: Internal storage to sd card storage, and cant beacuse idk where is that file or line ? or can u one codder write that line and i can put it ? Pls guys and ty so much all

Don't feel so bad about not receiving any replies on this forum. I have been flashing ROMs through this forum since Windows Mobile 2003 and in that time, xda-developers has become so big and unwieldy that it is VERY difficult to find a forum where people who know the answers can even see your question.
I have been asking essentially the same question as you for over four months and in that time no one has seen the question OR some newbie organiser has moved it to an obviously wrong forum solely to annoy the forum members there! It isn't clear who is running this forum any more but unlike the old days, no one seems technical any more unless they ACTUALLY POST to specific forums.
Do we have the same phone? I have an alps/MT6571 (possibly made by a company in China called HDC) with 16 gig of storage, nothing whatsoever in it and mysteriously no space left (with a few hundred meg showing available most of the time). Something in the extraordinarily badly written ROM (Hexing71_et_lca) is stopping the OS from addressing the storage space.
I even tried prising the back off the phone carefully and inserting a 32 gig sd card in it and designating that as the phone's storage but now the device reports the SD card as storage, there being 32 gig of storage, still nothing whatsoever in it and still mysteriously no space left, still with a few hundred meg showing available most of the time. Something in the extraordinarily badly written Hexing71_et_lca ROM is stopping the OS from addressing ANY storage space!!
Seems like the same phone? No one here knows the answer and no one will accept your challenge. A few users have reported this problem with this phone and this ROM on www.china-devices.com and no one there knows the answer either. There have also been postings on needrom but all trails there have gone dead as well. It seems everyone tries to back up their ROM to SD card, then they try to figure out what is wrong and then so much is wrong with it that everyone gives up.
