Marshmallow for Xperia M4 Aqua coming soon as firmware gets certified (26.3.A.0.131)
It looks like the PTCRB has just certified Android Marshmallow for the Xperia M4 Aqua and M4 Aqua Dual. A new update with build number 26.3.A.0.131 has appeared on the PTCRB page, which compares to current build 26.1.A.3.111 (Android 5.0 Lollipop).
The move from ‘26.1’ to ‘26.3’ based firmware is very likely to indicate that this is the long-awaited Marshmallow build. We hope that the update includes adoptable storage, as it is a phone that really needs it,*especially the 8GB variants. We’ll let you know once it starts to roll, it shouldn’t be too much longer now.

Xda-developer nobodyAtall has managed to do what no one else has done so far, booting a 3.0.8 kernel onto a 2011 Sony Xperia device. He posted a picture showing the 3.0.8 kernel booted on the Xperia mini. The latest official 2011 Sony Xperia kernel is version number 2.6.32.
nobodyAtall (nAa) says that apart from the fact that it boots, few other things are working right now. The kernel does appear to be stable and the drivers are now being ported one-by-one. The first device that will have this kernel is the Xperia mini, although there is no ETA on when it will be released.
The kernel is the piece of software that sits between the hardware and Android system. The advantage of sporting an updated kernel is new features and optimisations. The news gives hope that at some point it may appear on other 2011 Xperia devices, giving them a new lease of life.

So I have a Verizon model and have been looking for a way to upgrade to Lollipop on it. Does anyone know if this is possible? If not, is it possible to flash it with a 521 ROM instead?
Edit - The Verizon model is the SPG561

Hi,
since a day or three ago, I got the OTA update to Lollipop for my tablet Z2 from my provider, so updating depends on when your provider releases the update. See this link: http://www.phonearena.com/news/Sony-Xperia-Z2-and-Z3-series-get-Android-5.1-Lollipop-update_id71789
kindest regards, kuzibri
New firmware 14.6.A.1.216 for complete Z1 series (includin ZU) has been certified today. There seems to be minor bump from O to 1 after letter A. I really want to know what that means but this can be very last firmware for our great phones so i expect something bigger than just bugfixing.
Feel free to start discussion about what you expect from this update.
It will 110% be a bugfixer. There's nothing else to "give" us at this point. Just hope that the Ultra GPe gets 6.0 so we can port it and get some 6.0 goodies on our Ultras.

Amen to that
14.6.A.1.236 has been certified for the Z Ultra (and Z1/C), so we can expect yet another bugfixer soon.
Just updated
Basically the same & no noticeable changes.

Hi,
My G6 LS993 turn bricked after trying to unlock it through Z3X box; I chose the LS992 option and got stuck into recovery mode or something like that. There´s no firmware available on the list posted, so I´m wondering how to back to the normal. Any help would be very, very appreciated guys.
Regards.
