Not officially I don't think. It is possible that Asus could release a similar tablet to the Transformer Prime with Windows 8 on it.
If that happens it is definitely possible that some talented Developers could get Windows 8 booting (hopefully Dual-Booting) on the Android Based Prime! As long as it is ARM based.
My assumption is Windows 8 ARM will come pre-installed on Windows 8 tablets. The OS will not be transferable to other tablets. And can not be purchased separately.
So if my assumption is true (I have no knowledge of how MS will distribute Windows 8 ARM), then there would be no legal way of putting Windows 8 on the Transformer Prime. Definitely can't make and distribute custom ROMs, that'd be piracy.
If I'm totally wrong, feel free to educate my foolish self.
Its quite possible they won't release a version installable on tablets easily. Its just the possibility of making it happen has many excited (including myself)

Sadly, an iPad II. I seriously don't know what possessed me! At the time there wasn't really an Android tablet that appealed to me or that was available in my country. I desperately want to get rid of it and replace it with a new Galaxy Tab. iOS is crrrrrrrrrrap! You cant even do simple things like Bluetooth files from one device to another! Some of the apps and games on iOS are ok but as for the functionality/customisability, it is non-existant!
I have the nexus 7 32gb version. Before I had the Asus transformer.
Both great tablets but I fancied a smaller form factor after a year with a 10.1 inch tablet. And I could not resist the 7's price tag either! Especially after I tried a friends one at work one time.

Are there any Android devices with similar specs to the Nexus 7? I'm looking for a 16 GB tablet with a $200 price. Don't recommend any of those generic Chinese tablets either... I want something with good build quality and full access to the Google Play store.
You can try the Acer Iconia A100. In all honesty you'd be better with the nexus. The A100 is stuck on ICS and the nexus 7 will have the latest software

I would get the Nexus 7, but Best Buy doesn't sell it. I have a Best Buy gift card that I received for Christmas. What about the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0? Is it any good?
Archos is coming out with a line of "platinum" tablets. You may want to give them a go. They're not out yet, but they look pretty nice.

Don't know much about the galaxy tab 2 but from what I read it is a good tablet. I'm pretty sure it has jellybean now too. That would be a good alternative if you don't mind touchwiz. Since Best Buy doesn't have the nexus I would choose the galaxy tab. A lot better than the Acer a100.

Iconia A100? Don't you mean the Iconia A110, cause the one you mentioned is an older model. I'm pretty sure the newer Iconia A110 has Jelly Bean already.

Hi everyone,
Christmas is coming and I'd like to buy a tablet. It's the first one that I'll get and I'm not sure yet if it's worth buying it. I've got a Samsung Galaxy S II and I'm really happy with it, I think I'll get a new phone next year (Maybe a Nexus device).
So, I can't decide between 2 devices:
-LG G Pad 8.3: it has a bigger screen (I think 8 inch is the perfect size even if I haven't tried it) and a faster CPU (I don't mind SD Slot)
-Google Nexus 7 2013: it's cheaper, smaller and, well, a nexus. I love modding and I'd flash a ParanoidAndroid (it seems there aren't many developers on G Pad 8.3), however I love Nexus devices' instant updates.
I'd choose Nexus 7, but I don't know if the screen is too small for a tablet. I'll use it for movies, games, browsing, and music. Here in Italy G Pad costs 255€, while Nexus 7 (32 GB) is 232€. Has someone got any advice for me?
Sorry for my english!

I would go with the Nexus 7 2013 because it's performance is excellent, plus you mentioned you love device modding and the Nexus 7 2013 has an very active development community, additionally it will have fastest updates as it's a Nexus device. As far as size is concerned 7 inches compared to 8.3 isn't necessarily that much of a difference compared to 7 inches and say 10 inches, but it really is a personal preference. If you do end up wanting the LG G Pad I would recommend taking a look at the Google Play Edition of the device that was just released if it's available on the Italian Google Play Store. Overall I would go with the Nexus 7 2013.
