moto e 2015 how to ignore the 5.1update? - E 2015 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hey guys .. im new here. i just need a help in my moto e 2015 3g model. its XT1506 so now its running in 5.0.2 lollipop. no problem with that.. recently a month a update came to 5.1 version but i didnt updated yet.. my friend updated his same mobile but it consumed about 150mb ram by the new 5.1 update.. so i dont want to update my mobile i need to ignore that.. i play high games in there so i need ram. just tell me a way of ignoring that update which popus while i playing games and when it comes my apps crashing.. so i need to ignore that popup .. help me!:crying::crying::crying:

You need an app that can freeze apps. Then just freeze MotorolaOTA (package name: com.motorola.ccc.ota)
But I'd suggest doing a TWRP backup of your current 5.0.2 lollipop system then trying a marshmallow 6.0.1 rom. If it doesn't work out for you then you can just restore your TWRP 5.0.2 backup.

Freezing is deactivating an app so that it can not run, even if another process tries to start it. Greenify doesn't freeze apps. Greenify is a power saving app, it just temporarily closes other apps, "hibernates" them.
There are lots of choices for an app to freeze other apps. Like lucky patcher or the premium version of titanium backup. Search google play.

Greenify future plans

So... With Android L around the corner will Greenify support more features without the need for xposed or other stuff?
I can't use Android anymore without Greenify installed. Seriously.

With some patience, Xposed will come to Android L. We just need to wait until rovo89 make an official announcement

I don't like xposed. Drags the system down and causes bugs.
I just want greenify on Android L. That's all.

If you dislike Xposed, i won't argue with that, but sadly you will not experience the full functionality Greenify provides. Unless Greenify is coded to run on top of the android system which I think may not possible without the help of the modified app_process and xposedBridge.jar
I wonder how xposed causes bugs on your system, could you tell me your experience? Xposed does nothing out of the box, it is only the modules that a person installs that has to do something with the system.
betas not showing on Google Playstore
Guys, I am using Greenify with Donation pack on both my devices. In my tablet I do not face any issues. But in my phone, after updating to 2.4.1, the betas are not showing on the playstore. Prior to 2.4.1, i was getting the betas on both my devices.I use the same account on both the tablet and phone. My tablet has 2.4.1 beta 5 and is running properly. But my phone does not get the betas. I have cleared the cache and data from the playstore and again opted in to the beta yesterday night. But till now no betas. Why?

Thank you for the suggestion.
But to my knowledge (and Google's knowledge), there doesn't seem to be a way to sign out of Google. So deleted the Google account from SETTINGS>ACCOUNTS and after rebooting, signed in again. Even after five hours of doing it, I don't get the beta in Playstore.
Now I have opted out of testing and after sometime and may be after a reboot I intend to opt-in again. Let me see.
Incidentally, neither my tablet nor my phone is able to download the beta apks in the first post of @oasisfeng. I get only about 57 kbs of download before it says file downloaded. If I try to open the downloaded file, I get a parsing error. This happens for all the apks listed there.
Any help will be appreciated.
:fingers-crossed:

How to install official weekly ROM updates while keeping certain system settings?

Hey everyone,
Just like (I suppose) most of us I'm using the official developer ROM, currently v. 5.10.8, and have been keeping up with the updates. My question is, how do you guys keep your phone up to date without having to reinstall/configure apps like SuperSU, Adaway, AFWall+, etc.? Do you use a separate service/app to restore app data after every update? Or is there a way to prevent those specific files in the system folder to be overwritten?
Thanks for your feedback

You have to reconfigure it. The install script do a format system (not a wipe
~ Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Prime ~
I have the stable rom with TWRP and OpenGapps
If I want to weekly update the stable rom, I can't do it without re-installing OpenGapps?
Thanks!

Uff ok, guess I'll have to write some post-install script then to install those apps, enable init.d support (needed for applying fw rules on boot), etc. and use Titanium/Helium/.. to restore data of System apps. Thx for the info.

I will have this setup when my phone arrives - official developer ROM and Open GAPPS. Does OTA affect the open GAPPS? Will you need to reinstall?
If you want we can cooperate on such a script (or feel free to share if you do not want help)
Thanks for proposing your help, but I'm currently looking into running AOSP as it seems stable enough for everyday use and offers init.d support by default. I'll still need to script all the other stuff though so I might get into it at some point (when I find the time). Will share of course. This is my first time running MIUI and I'm actually surprised noone has come up with this before. Does everyone just like having to go through all those steps after flashing the latest release??

Hi
as I wrote above, now it is working
What I have exactly done is:
- Force Disable google play services
- remove updates
- delete data and cache of play services app.
- reboot
did the same with google play store
- reboot
- login in google play
-Download all displayed updates
- reboot
the message is no longer displayed upon boot

HI
I have a further question please .
is it worth to update to V18.6 made by Darkened_Sky?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=61964626
because I am very satisfied so far with v18.0 version it runs really smooth and stable on my device.
so what would you recommend?
THX

I can't tell because I don't own a i9300, I have a i9305.
But in any case if you are satisfied with your current build, stay with it. However if you are curious to test this new version, you can do a Nandroid backup of your whole current ROM, backup it in a safe place and then enjoy to flash and try another build. Only you can tell if Darkened_Sky's build is OK for you.
If you don't like it, then you can restore your Nandroid backup.

Major bug in CM 12.1

Since I have updated my phone to CM 12.1 I am not able to install apps that are being shared by my friends. Also I am not able to install apps unless they are downloaded by play store. Adding to this I am also not able to turn on accessibility option for some apps like Greenify ,Nova launcher etc . Please suggest me a way to fix it , if so that would be great .
Thank you

S3 Neo here too running CM12.1. Everything crashes after installing either Greenify or Nova Launcher. Disabling with adb makes everything normal again.
Also, are you getting "There is an internal error with your device ...." error too?
No I don't get that message. My phone just crashes when I install Greenify and then he reboots itself. After reboot every app stops working.
It seems that more and more of us is getting this problem. Hope someone will help.

Does Greenify knows about this?

I don't think that anyone had this issue with the earlier versions. If you have this issue on earlier versions also, then it is possible that the problem lies elsewhere.
I didn't have problems with earlier versions before 3.6.x update. I downloaded older version and same thing happens

In that case check whether the update of ROM, kernel etc have anything to do with it.
If not, do a clean install of your ROM and then install an earlier version of Greenify.

You know about any other stable and best rom for our device??
I have the same problem on my Samsung Galaxy S1 Plus ( i9001 ) with CM 12.1 fresh clean install. Current version Greenify 3.9.5 crashes everything and I end up in a bootloop with optimising apps.
What version did you guys use???
Edit: Authy via YalpStore ends up the same. -.-" I deleted everything with authy in it's name via TWRP File Manager and it booted up again normal.
