Hello everyone.
I have a device H850 version V10a-EUR-eg-xx
I have no idea what is this version that I did in Israel. Does anyone know if I can update to V10d it will work good for me?
is your version capable of bootloader unlock?
if yes then most likely you got an international G5 so you may be able to flash V10d

The H850 has an unlockable bootloader
But to make sure go to Settings> about phone> software info> tap 7 times build number
Then go to settings> developer options and check if you have the "enable OEM unlock" option
!!WARNING!!
If you unlock your bootloader you'll lose your warranty.
My question is if I can update version v10d and it does not make me problems?

You can update via OTA from settings>about phone>update center>software update
It should be ok but if you want to be safe you can make a factory reset after installing the update

I think that you can use lgup and flash the original kdz file from lg without root.
Someone may know YouTube Guide update version of the G5
hey man... just get on with LGUP and V10d should be an easy install
download drivers and LGUP (lastest versions - my own link) and install them
https://1drv.ms/f/s!Au9ppCUF0J7lgZpUFNW-cf8ot0EweA
then download V10d firmware
http://csmgdl.lgmobile.com/dn/downl...2QJAWP3EE65VEO/H85010d_00_OPEN_EU_OP_0614.kdz
shutdown the phone and press volume up while connecting the usb cable to the phone
the phone should enter download mode
now on PC/laptop open up LG UP and on BIN file select your downloaded KDZ file
now what I usually do here is a restart of LGUP so go ahead and restart LGUP by closing it and re-open it
now make sure refurbish option is selected and click start... from there wait until phone reboots and LGUP reports 100%
as soon as phone reboots, you will be back to stock
from here on flash TWRP, root, do whatever you need to do

Hi,
my P760 is on V20B rooted and OTA updates are available.
Will I loose root if I upgrade?
(No, I can't use Lelus' method, offline flashing throws errors for me)
When I did the official upgrade from a V20B ROM rooted with Lelus method to V20C (directly on the phone, with a 9 MB patch), I kept root.
Ok, tried it, failed. When updating, I get a warning that my device is rooted and therefore unsupported.
When I temp un-root it (Voodoo OTA Root Keeper) I just get a message "installation failed".
So, looks like I'm stuck on V20B -.-

I experienced same warning when i was in ICS  but still i bypassed that warning, here's what i did
1. Used lelus method to root any firmware
2. Didnt install any root accessable apps
3. Didnt remove any bloatware
4. Did the OTA update and update was successful :good:
(if u have kdz then u can flash latest kdz again n obtain root by lelus method. If u don wanna download a latest kdz ,then follw these instructions, hope it helps )

Thanks for trying to help, but KDZ flashing doesn't work for me, I get an error that my device isn't connected (not a driver problem).

Not the driver problem? then what? perhaps USB port or USB cable.
Do you have LG PC suite? Can it connect with your phone via USB cable?
You can upgrade to 20C using it (it is also KDZ), of course you will loose root, but perhaps your drivers get better and then you could root via KDZ Lelus method.

Other than rooted, is your device stock? OTA will fail if anything in stock is modified or missing..

Thanks, I'll try.
I recently purchased the GSM Moto G and unlocked the bootloader/rooted my device. The phone is running 4.3 android, but I want to install the latest 4.2.2 kitkat. I can download the software directly from the phone through the system updates menu in the settings. However, when I try downloading it, it says that the device must restart to install. When restarting, the phone loads up in the bootloader menu and never installs the update. Every time I try starting up my phone now, it automatically tries to install the update by restarting the device and loading up into the bootloader again. I can no longer use my phone now because it continues to restart the device. I do I install 4.2.2 if I've already unlocked the bootloader? Thanks in advance.

Hello my friend! I don't have a Motorola myself but i did my best to do some research. First thing you want to know is that if you can download OTA update (the updates from your manufacture) you don't need to have an unlocked bootloader and some manufactures stop giving you OTA updates if you are rooted (Idk about Motorola but Samsung, Lg do this). You want to unlock your bootloader if you want to flash a custom Recovery and later install Custom ROM not when you want manufacture update. Here is a tutorial on how to flash your MOTO G to the last 4.4.2 using ADB. When you download the firmware be sure to download the good one. Good luck.
The link to the tutorial http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2542219.
Press Thanks if i helped you.

Can I simply flash a 4.4.2 firmware or must I flash a 4.3 version and download OTA update from my device?

You can just flash 4.4.2 from start so you don't need to update from 4.3. There is no problem my friend. Good luck.
I've seen that some people have the v10g-EUR-XX version for D620r but I own the same model with v10d-EUR-XX.
I checked for OTA updates but it says I have the latest version. Could it be a problem with root or I should just wait?
I have locked bootloader and the phone was bought in Romania.
I have my phone rooted and it detects the updates, but doesnt update the system.
Maybe there are no updates in your country, i dont know
Nevermind, I've got the update installed today after "update recovery" in LG Mobile Update Tool.

?????
You tried to perform an OTA update while rooted?
Try a restart, if that doesn't work you can recover your phone using either lg bridge or lg up (using bridge is recommended for users who don't really know what they're doing).

I tried to update via PC and it fails there is another option to update to V10D without prejudice at the root?
Well then you'll have to flash the correct stock .kdz for your device using lg up and reroot. Instructions can be found in this thread.
I have same error with N update but device was never rooted... Clean stock soft. Any recommendations?
I picked up a new in box factory unlocked LG V30+ (LG-US998) on Amazon pretty cheap in December. What I didn't realize it that it is just running android 7.1.2 not 8 which I believe is the most current version available. I bought the unlocked version to avoid all the AT&T bloatware, but now I'm realizing it won't update OTA to the newest OS and is probably behind on security updates. Does anyone know what I need to do to get the phone to update OTA. I'm not interested in a custom rom or any of that, so if that means I need to flash the AT&T stock rom (with their bloatware) that's fine. I just want the phone to get OTA updates. I tried using the LG software to update it and it doesn't recognize the phone.
Refer to these two threads. Read through them, ignore the part about rooting if you won't be doing that.

You just need to update to latest US998 KDZ via software called LGUP.
See link below. You want steps 4 and 5.
FRANKENSTEIN INSTRUCTIONS
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=76510671&postcount=168
Yes, those instructions are for converting to US998 -- but steps 4 and 5 still apply to someone just wanting to update US998 to most current firmware.
Install LGUP, download latest US998 KDZ (links provided), flash via Update mode. Easy.

An even better answer:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v30/help/lg-v30-oreo-t3831950
Just go to the US998 Oreo KDZ thread, install the LGUP attached there and download latest KDZ to update. Install via "Upgrade" mode in LGUP.

I read through but I'm a bit unsure of what I need to do. Do I need to unlock the bootloader or root it? I'm not interested in rooting it. Do I just download US99820h_00_0318.kdz and use the patched LGUP to install / flash it to my phone? I'm not sure where to get the proper patched version of LGUP to do this.

Yes, that's exactly what you do. It's like a manual OTA. You have the file, you use Upgrade mode with Dev Patched LGUP (which is more powerful than stock LGUP).

I had this same issue with my phone... Wouldn't ever get OTA updates... Honestly, the easiest way to get updates outside the kdz and lgup is to use the twrp stock builds. They're stock V30, you can get them without bloatware (US-998), and updating them is a piece of cake once you know what you're doing... In my case, the lack of updates seemed to have something to do with the fact that my device was somehow a Sprint device, blah blah blah....
Anyways, TWRP stock builds is the way to go... I'm currently running the Tmobile stock build and it's fine and does whatever I need it to... I like it better than custom

But they don't want to unlock bootloader and root, so I'm telling them the easy LGUP Upgrade mode method with latest US998 KDZ.
I agree TWRP flashable zip is fantastic. I use it, but for my wife's phone which is not bootloader unlocked or rooted (and my sister's phone also), the LGUP/KDZ method is where they need.

I hate to resurrect such an old post, but I never got around to doing this. Now that the quarantine is in place I have time. Is there a newer version of the kdz that I should use (probably Pie)? I'm guessing there's a newer version of LGUP (modified) as well?
Let me make sure I understand this too. I can use the modified version of LGUP to flash the newer kdz to my phone using the "upgrade" option and it keeps all the data currently on my phone, right? If later I wanted to do a factory reset on my phone, that would wipe the data but still retain the newer kdz that was installed, correct?

For US998, I only recommend updating to last Oreo 20h. I'm rooted, still on that. My wife, mother, sister, brother in law who are all NOT Bootloader Unlocked/Rooted are all still on that, also.
The one US998 Pie KDZ we received is very wonky. It's technically for U.S. Cellular. LG never released Pie KDZ for Open Market. Charging is slower, other things broken if you use other carriers.
Many people find it hard to update to, and if you have problems most of the workarounds depend on having TWRP.
I strongly recommend stable last Oreo 20h.
Yes, there is newer version of Dev Patched LGUP. I have it posted in the US998 Oreo and Pie KDZ threads, as well as Frankenstein.
Yes, if the use Upgrade mode you keep your data as long as you are already on earlier same firmware, in this case US998.
