Just a little heads up here, my Chromebook got Google Play yesterday and the XDA app basically works, I'm posting from it now. However, I can't seem to attach a screenshot. The photo icon wants to open the gallery, which seems to go nowhere and causes it to freeze, and the IMG icon causes an immediate force close. Basic text posting seems to work fine. Notice the 'Sent from my cyan...' That's my Acer Chromebook R11 lol.

So I was emailed a link to download the .apk since it won't show up in the market on my View, but it keeps force-closing. Has anyone been able to get this to work?

Not to be captain obvious, but the force closing probably has something to do with the app not being compatible with the View (that's why it's not showing up in the market). I use Reddit News Free as my Reddit app. It is really smooth and is quite nice on my View.
Don't know why, but the chrome browser is a buggy piece of crap. Whereas, on my Sony Xperia S, it works like a dream. Why is that?

I don't think Chrome has the greatest tablet experiance - the tab's are just to small for my liking.
What bugs have you found?
Yes mine too. It doesnt like tabbed browsing. Sometimes when I open 1-2 more tabs the pages dont load. Even with just one tab the page sometimes does not load at all. The browser has crashed to desktop on mine a few times as well. The tablets just needs a few things fixing then it will be perfect:
chrome fix
Delay in waking device fix.
Random reboots
Ps store and dual shock 3 native support.

I have problems with tabs too! it goes blank when switching and end up closing chrome and start all over! really annoying

it crashes on me almost everytime. I've decided to give it a fair chance by installing it a few times but still the same everytime. Had to go back to dolphin. Dont even bother with chrome at the moment unless it gets a major update.
According to google mobile official blog, Chrome browser is still in a beta phase

you have to disable the stock browser, and chrome will be better. But firefox is better on my tablet s
Just like they said. Tabbed browsing is bad. Really bad. Another thing I noticed is that when I open a couple of tabs, it crashes. Some pages don't scroll at times. And it sometimes crashes for no reason.
Its so smooth and sweet on my SXS, it confuses me. Both are Sony ICS devices.

Ok I am sure all netflix users have found out that we have been had. There app will automatically update and no matter what I do I can't stop it. The new app is not very responsive and fails to load all the thumbnails. It's not as bad on the 3vo as it is on the og but still sucks. Plus I liked the old look better. So what I am wondering is if anyone knows how to stop it from upgrading?

Yes I did. I still have the black splash and auto rotation but the main ui has changed.

Unfortunately there is no way to stop the update. I have a backup of netflix in titanium backup from about 4 months ago and as soon as I restore the app and data it loads the new interface. I thought netflix was slow before, I didnt think they could make it any worse. They might be trying to push people to upgrade their devices. The app works on the 3vo, but my wife has an evo 4g and it barely works now.

The Netflix app's user interface is really just a web page. There is NO way whatsoever to get the old user interface back, because it is served directly from Netflix, as opposed to being a native Android user interface.
I agree that it blows. Why can't Netflix make a UI that lets us actually be able to browse ALL of the available titles? For instance, if I check the science fiction movies on the app, I apparently have a choice of about 20 movies or so to watch. Yet, you can search and find all kinds of additional titles. Why can't I just browse the damn library of titles?!?!
After a little bit digging.. Seems to be a server side updated rather than a full app update...

I very much agree. Netflix is quite un-user friendly. Half the time you have to know what you want to watch and search for it, and even then it's very hit and miss. I especially don't follow why Netflix has say... movies 2 and 3 in a series, but not the first one. DEFINITELY needs a massive UI update to allow entirely library browsing. not just whatever 75 titles they feel like showing at the current time.
I got fed up with Netflix, left August 1st.
Once Amazon gets a little better selection I'll head over there.

I've confirmed this with one other person, it seems that when logged in and attempting to view the forum list the page will reload. This seems it back to the top at the default view making reading anything impossible. Had anyone encountered this or know a solution? Other than viewing the forums logged out.
That only happens to me when I use Dolphin with jetpack on.
I've been having the same issue with the page reloading constantly and I'm just using chrome.
try using the app?

i just started using chrome few days ago. the main reason is that it can sync everything from my laptop to my tablet and phone. I can live with it although it is not the best browser.
anyway, there is a big problem that has been annoying me since i started using it. as it does not support flash, can i force youtube links to open with youtube app?

Good question. Thats a prob u get with other browser too. And same thing arrives when u view a twitter account. It opens on the web instead of the app whereas with stock browser it opens with the app.
