I just unlocked my bootloader, rooted and flashed 4ext recovery. i want to install a custom rom but i have no idea on what one i should do. What would be the best(most stable) rom for this device. In bootloader i am seeing UNLOCKED hboot-1.58.000 S-ON. I kinda like the Cyanogenmod, however i read in these forums if i install 12.1 i will not have a camera and i need the camera. Any advice on what rom i should use?
Guess i am going to have to do the wire trick and get s-off to change hboot version to install any of the compatible roms?

Just got my rezound today, experienced flasher, but with s-off phones.
I have successfully unlocked the bootloader, and rooted the phone and installed the amon-ra custom recovery, from what I've read it seems to be the most popular for this phone, if another one is better please let me know.
But the flashing of custom roms has me a little confused and I couldn't find a good guide to do it, what I want to do is keep my gb bootloader, so I can get s-off when it comes out and install a fairly stock rooted rom based on the ICS OTA with wireless tether capability
Is BAMF Rezound ICS v2.1 Official based on the OTA, I'm not familair with rezound firmware history, if not which are and what steps do I have to take to install it.
I read something about bootloops if you don't install a fix.
Thank you very much for any help you can provide
BAMF ICS 2.1 is a good stable option for a custom ICS rom. Its very stable and fluid and fairly close to stock ICS with Sense 3.6. It has a few tweaks Joel threw it but all the core components are there. As a far as keeping the same bootloader that you mentioned there is a patch in that thread that has to be flashed since you are not gonna be on the lastest HBoot or firmware. Just make sure to flash the kernel since we don't have S-Off.
Hello to everyone, i apoligize for my english and if the question was already asked but i have a little problem.
I had a lot of phones even an HTC ONE X that got stolen :crying: , on the HOX i could install Jelly Bean Rom's and all the other Rom's without any big problem if we haven't had S-OFF, the ROM was flashed with recovery then we would flash the Kernel and modules if there was any.
I know that the EVO 3D is not the HOX but the problem is i can't have S-OFF, i have no cid, tried all the solution's even with the HEX editor(xvi32) but the file is full with zero's.I don't know what to do, there are only some ROM's that work with S-ON, like NonSense,mwakious3Drom and CoolSense i find them very sluggish compared to a non bloatware android Rom, i love CyanogenMod 9 bootscreen in 3D but that is all i see because i have always bootloop.
I've tried Flash Gui with no success, tried S-off and destroyed a sd-card .
My little question is:there isn't an analog way like the HOX flashing to flash the most modded roms?
Like flash with recovery the ROM then flash the kernel with [fastboot flash boot boot.img] and if there is modules then flash those throughthe recovery.
Please someone could tell me so i know that i can't put an CyanogenMod Rom without S-OFF and stop trying.
1.sorry for bad eng
I have EVO 3D, gsm
I will be do, UNLOCK from htc, Install recovery and super user
I have questen, do I need s-off for flas any coustom rom?
info is in att..?
if you want to run aosp based roms like cm10.1 aokp etc then you need to s-off and downgrade hboot. but if you want to run sense based custom roms then you dont need s-off
I have hox, and I dont need s off.
Becouse i asked
Sent from my HTC One X
like i said it depends on which rom you want to flash. AOSP roms will not boot for you. Only sense based roms will work
Hello, as my thread title suggests I have a question about custom kernels. I made the mistake of updating to 4.3 on my device [I did it for the TRIM feature but wasnt aware of the cons Verizon put in place with 4.3], before 4.3 I was rooted and was using the stock OS and kernel. I do know that its possible to get Root access with 4.3 and Ive already done that - My question is if it is possible to install a custom kernel that will allow me to overclock this device ? I know there are a ton of kernels out there, but I dont want to risk bricking this device or having to download the ODIN 1GB+ 4.3 android file to bring it back to life..Thanks in advance!
Unfortunately, you cannot install a custom kernel. You would need to have an unlocked bootloader to install custom kernels.... and there's no current do it yourself method to unlock the 4.3 MJ9 bootloader.
4.1.2 was the last Android build for our phones where you could have unlocked the bootloader.... and so far, it doesn't look like there's going to be a method developed for 4.3.

That sucks...I dont think there is a way to go back to 4.1.2 either. Thanks for answer anyways.
ok guys well im on stock 4.4.4 and i just unlocked the bootloader. Anyway to obtain root or flash custom roms? i have read through both general and question sections but cant pinpoint an answer. i see most roms need unlocked bootloader which is fine and i see there is a dual recovery for locked and unlocked bootloaders but would i just need that and flash that without root and i can start flashing roms? sorry if these questions sound idiotic, i can assure you i am no noob doing these things as i came from the htc m8 and this is my first xperia device and flashing and rooting and unlocking bootloader was definitely a new process slightly with this phone. Again i have already unlocked bootloader which took some time but went through thanks
Or you could flash a custom kernel, doomlords for stock or m5 for cm based via adb then flash the rom you want, obviously if you flash the cm kernel a stock rom won't boot but you'll still be able to access recovery to flash a custom rom
