So i got the gear fit 2, and I like it. My main issue is that the bluetooth cuts when streaming music directly from it to my bluetooth headphones. I returned the fit and got another one and the new one does the same. I tried 2 different bluetooth headphones and it does the same with both. Both headphones work fine when streaming from my phone, so I think it's an issue with the gear fits in general. Any suggestions?
I found I have to wear the GF2 on my wrist that is on the same side as my headphone bluetooth receiver. With GF2 on left wrist and headphone bluetooth receiver in right ear, music would cut out anytime my body was between the two.
I find if I look turn my head to the LEFT/RIGHT while jogging, the music will cut out, and when I stare straight again the music will come back...=(
Eyes forward, and stop checking out the other runners...=)

I found the same works with my mee x7 phones. Sound works really well that way.
GF2 dropouts with jaybird x3
im also having audio dropouts between my gear fit 2 and wireless headphones.
my galaxy s7 has near perfect connection, in comparison the gear fits bluetooth connection is poor.
tried swapping wrists, near no difference.
this is really annoying, perhaps my gear fits bluetooth module is faulty, but i fear that this is standard...

A long time ago I used to have a Nokia phone and bought a "Car Kit" which consisted of a new battery cover with belt clip, a car mount, and the speakephone base which even though it plugged into the cigarette lighter it still had a mic wire which I had to router behind the dashboard, up around the window and out just above the rear view mirror. The quality of this thing was amazing, I could hear people loud and clear and they could hear me perfectly over the loud noise that I get when driving my pathfinder.. Background noise is the biggest complaint I get from people I talk to when using wired headsets or bluetooth earpieces. I'm wondering if anyone can reccomend a good Bluetooth speakerphone device that I can use in my car? I prefer the portable type but professional kits are fine too. I don't mind spending extra on it if it's going to work and work well. I tried that Motorla visor clip speakerphone and it was awful.
I've seen some devices from Parrot, Anycom, and Jabra.. Does anyoe here have any experience with their speakerphone products? Are they any good?

I've had good results with the Sony MEX-BT5000 headunit and my Wizard. In addition to speakerphone, it also supports A2DP. Sony just announced the next generation unit (MEX-BT2500) which should also perform well.

Thanks for the info. Actually, I'm looking for something that's standalone or integrates with an existing car stereo, I'm not looking to replace my headunit as I've already invested and installed one with a DVD player/GPS Navigation system built in. Thanks anyway though!

Sony HCB-100 visor clip unit is great, not sure about integrating with your stereo though. I have steering controls so its easy to mute the stereo when a call comes through
Has anyone found a 2.5mm headset similar to the iPhone one? I want one that has a tiny in-line microphone (http://store.apple.com/Catalog/US/Images/hero-iphoneheadset.jpg). I listen to music on the train but I feel like a fool having the huge bulky microphone attached to my headset.
haven't checked it out but can't you use that one? or have you tried using a bt headset? i can play music through my bt headset just fine.
Playing music through BT would be a huge battery drain + huge hole in my wallet. I'm just looking for a headset that is 2.5mm with a thin microphone so it isn't too noticeable when I listen in public. I find the bulky microphone too distracting.
Please let me know if anyone is using this with HTC TP2... it supports A2DP .. so i guess it will work with tp2 ... but i just want to confirm before buying it
Name : Motorola S9-HD Stereo Bluetooth Wireless Headset
Code:

It should work, I have that same exact version sycned to my TP2.
Good luck.
hey dude.. is the effect and stuff's are good with this headset??... can you use em while you are traveeling in your motorcycle??...please check this post any such disturbances http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=652583 ??? please let me know...
You probably could use it when you ride your Motorcycle, although its really made for running, said from the designer of this bluetooth headset. It doesn't go straight into your ear but close enough where you hear the music and hear things surrounding you
The S9HD works perfectly with the TP2. I have both. I also ride a motorcycle, and would not recommend using them when riding. These are in ear phones that have a noise isolating effect reducing esxternal noise by some 20 - 30 dB, besides that not wearing a helmet so that you could listen to some tunes is also not a good idea... That's my 0.02...
I also have a pair of these and have no issues with the TP2. There are the occasional drop outs, especially when I go out doors. For the most part, they are good for listening to music and people that I am speaking to say I come across very clear.
As for riding a motorcycle, they will not fit under a helmet. If you are riding without a helmet, I doubt the silicone ear pieces will isolate so much noise that you wont be able to hear sirens, car horns or the like. But you will probably experience more dropouts than you'd like.
I would like a decent bluetooth stereo headset that I can listen to music with and make and recieve calls on with this device. I've already tried the Motorla S10's and jaybird freedoms.

Moto has a decent mic, but poor audio and bad signal range. However call's were serviceable.
The jaybirds have sensational audio clarity and quality (better on the iPhone though. Just sounds cleaner. dunno why?) and the bass is rich and crisp. Some of the best bud audio I've heard well...ever. Even rivals my klipsch S4i's *Only works on apple :-(*
Now for the bad. Calls are the worst I've ever expirenced! audio is muddy, the other end always complains I sound distant and traped in a far away restroom, audio cuts in and out and the volume in call is too low. Just horrid experience altogether that mares the device of its exceptional BT headphone feature.
And I would like ideally a headset with good range ~12-20ft from device. a decent battery cycle *8-12Hrs.* and has a good noise canceling mic and good audio quality for music and calls.
Does such a device exist? My budget is $80-150
Thanks in advanced.

I just think the sound quality and the mic suck for phone calls. :-/ which is disappointing. but the sound quality for music and such is nearly on par with my beats studios, although not as clear or loud. and they almost replicate the same timber/clarity of the klipsch S4i's they replaced. (best buds I've ever owned/used/seen) though there's a little distortion at higher volume levels. and I don't feel like they get as loud as I'd like.
i'm using my Sony Ericsson HBH-DS980 from 2007, great headset, no problems at all, even battery ok after 4 years of use.

Sony Ericsson Bluetooth devices are awesome. I have been using the hbh ds205 for years this is my second one my wife put the first one through the wash it still worked but the battery didn't hold a charge after that.
Anyways the great thing about it is you can use it for anything and use any headphones you want with it. I use my sennheiser ie7's.
It has all the controls...play pause volume up down skip track answer calls. Battery last like 8-10 hours of continuous playback.
I clip it on my shirt and work all day long with it. Clip it on my jacket and listen to tunes while I'm riding my motorcycle. Get in my car plug it in to the auxiliary cable, samething at home. Just got a portable speaker for cell phones so I can plug it into that and listen wirelessly. That's why its so great it makes everything wireless.
I don't think they make this model anymore but there is new versions. I'm gonna upgrade sometime because this little device is so awesome.

Thanks for the feedback. funny thing is my jay birds worked flawlessly today, no distortion and no call issues... only thing I did different was calibrate my battery on the phone and flash the updated matted blues theme for serendipity.... strange.

In terms of Voice Call Quality, the Plantronics 903+ are top notch. I also have the Jaybird Freedoms (best sound quality IMHO) as well as the Sony Ericsson MW600 which I like for the ability to plug in any Headphones I wish. I haven't heard many issues with the MW600 for the audio quality though.
I was told that the Jaybirds has a bit of a tinny sound when I talk on the phone though, bit of a downside (granted after my workout at the gym, I can't seem to find them, not too happy about that.) The Jaybirds battery life will not be the best in any way shape or form, you do pull off about 5 hours, which isn't bad, but nothing like the MW600 which get up to 11 hours.
The MW600 is not the best for working out in my opinion, no sealed ports and not water resistant/sweat resistant. The Plantronics 903+ isn't sweat resistant either contrary to what you read online, but it is durable. I have shorted out 6 pairs with the amount of sweat I have when working out. I even have shorted out a Motorola S9 which is supposed to be sweat resistant as well. Just my $0.02 take them as you wish.

I have had the same experience with the JayBirds as the OP. Good bluetooth speakers... horrible call quality. People couldn't understand me, complaining that I was muffled. I took them back after 2 days.
I am also looking for a good set of stereo bluetooth headphones, to use both in the car and the gym, and will be following this thread closely.

Anytime. I have been playing more with the MW600. In the end, there is no "perfect" bluetooth headphones for everything. When I'm at work I use my MW600, and when I am biking/working out I use my Jaybirds.
My MW600's came today and I was able to get a quick 20 mile ride in with them. So here is a quick review.
My first impression was wow is this thing small. With out headphones the unit is about 2.5 inches long and about .5 wide. The clip is not the greatest but seemed to hold on tight enough.
The headphones that came with it just looking at them I would say they are not the greatest design. The are not the "Standard" Y design with the plug on the bottom and the L & R ear buds at the top. Instead the plug and L ear bud are on the top and the R ear bud the bottom. This makes the L ear bud rather short. Tossed them right away.
Pairing could not have been easier. Pretty much standard Turn the unit on, Turn on BT on the phone tell it to look for devices and then pair it up. After pairing I turned the headset off for a hour and then turned it back on and it did pair right up again so no problems there.
The Unit
The controls will take a bit of getting use to. Pretty much anywhere you touch it you are going to be touching a control surface. Looking at the headset with the LED screen facing you and headphones on top the volume is on the left, ff, play/pause, and rw are on the left. On the top of the front face is the call button with a mic right above it and at the bottom above the Micro USB port is the power.
The volume will take a bit to get use to as well. it is not a physical button but a touch surface that is not all that sensitive (in the end I think this is a good thing.) you turn it up or down by running your finger over the surface in the direction that you want it to go. To go to full volume or min volume it takes a couple of swipes of your finger or you can press and hold at the top or bottom to up and down.
FF, Play/Pause, and RW seem to work fine and it is not a problem to use them.
I have not had a chance to place or get a call yet so can not speak to how well the call button works or the sound quality. I will post as soon as I get a chance to use the headset for a call.
Sound Quality.
I did not test the headphones that came with it so I can not speak to them. I used a pair of headphones that came with my Captivate (could not find my better Skulls at the time.) I would not say that the sound was out of this world but it was pretty good for using a pair of headphones that came with a phone. Did not get any distortion at the level that I had it, no popping not hissing. Would not say that the sound was deep and rich but it was good.
The Extra's
One of the nice things about this unit is that you can use use a high end set of headphones with out a mic because the unit has a mic built in. So if you have a really good set of headphone I would use them.
FM Radio worked good. was able to pull in the radio station that I listen to all the time and it came in very clear. To the FM radio you hold down the play/pause button until 2 little icons display on the LED then use the play/pause button again to select what you want. I did not try it but I do not think that you can listen to the radio and the use the headset for calls at the same time.
Over all I like the headset it has good sound and with a good set of headphones I think it will be even better. Pairing could not be any easier and once paired held the pairing very well. I did not get any interruptions when I went over bumps that I did get with other BT headsets. I do not think that working out with the headset will be a issue seeing that it is clipped to the outside of my shirt I would have to get a REALLY good sweat going to for it to affect the unit but seeing as it is 45 degrees here right now the proof will have to wait until I get in the gym.
At this point the only con I have is the controls. Like I said it is really hard to handle the unit with out touching one of the controls (Most often volume) but again I think that it is pretty much a matter of time before I "learn" how to handle it with out touching something.
On a scale of 1-10 I would give the headset a solid 8
If you can still find them, Homer HHS1220 I believe was the BEST bang for the buck a few years ago. Legitimate 12 hour battery and pretty comfy to wear.

I bought the Phiaton PS 20 BT stereo headset ($125 at Newegg) about a month ago. The sound quality is great, on both music and calls. Distance, to me, is impressive. Built-in battery charges via USB, and battery life has been good for me.
The microphone is the only thing that's a bit finicky. Some people tell me that it sounds like I'm on a wired headset. Others tell me it sounds like I'm in a tunnel. The problem boils down to what shirt I'm wearing! If I have button-down shirt or a breast pocket, then it's easy to dial the mic in for great sound. But if I'm wearing a t-shirt ... forget it.

I have a pair of Jaybird bluebuds and they sound pretty good. Expensive, but it's got the lifetime sweat warranty and true eight hour battery life.
I was also gifted the beats studio wireless headphones and those sound very good and are very comfortable. They're not $370 good but there isn't much competition even at that price. They sound like $200 headphones sound quality wise.

Been using Sony bluetooth headset SBH50 for more than a month now have no problem recommending this device to anyone looking for a wireless Bluetooth option for cellular or audio listening needs I'm definitely impressed with its functionality sound quality and its built in caller ID, and radio.
However, my SBH50 battery is terrible, the battery charge do not last more than two days even without use at all (standby only) and less than one day with light use (a total of about 2 hour calls) although sony says that SBH50 minimum Rated Talk Time: 8 hours, and Minimum Rated Standby Time: 400 hours
I don't know if it is my Headset problem or it is actual battery life for this type of sony headset ?

thanks for this thread. i recently dropped my LG Tone 730's on the ground, so looking for a new replacement. Hope this thread helps!!
The LG's were cool and all but after a while of use, they would "magically" move around your neck and one side would hang lower then the other
I use a NoiseHush NS560-11978 Clip-on Bluetooth Stereo Headset and have been for a couple of years now.
I use it for about an hour + a day for 3 days before needing a re-charge (listening to music the whole time).
Doesn't take very long to charge via usb (It uses a tiny connector at the end of the male usb).
I have never used the earphones it comes with. I've always used my Sony headphones (Just standard music headphones).
The bluetooth dongle has a built in microphone & you can answer / hang up / play / pause / vol up / down / skip forward & backwards.
I use it in the rain (I clip it onto my messenger back strap) and its never let me down over the last couple of years.
My 3 kids all have one each and all of them are still working fine without any problem at all.
If you do a Google image search for NoiseHush NS560 it will show you what colours it comes in (lots).
I guess the sound quality would depend on your headphones you use.. Mine are great (I also user a rom with Viper for sound so I can alter the sound through bluetooth which helps a lot.
Amazon has a whole bunch of reviews:

Oh yeh they aren't very expensive and are built really well (looks ok too).
Today i went and bought the jam transit wireless bluetooth earbuds and im extremely impressed. ..the sound and clarity is better than alot of other more expensive models. I would recommend them to anyone.
I also own the jam transit over the ear wireless bluetooth headset and im also very impressed with those

I owned 5 premium bluetooth earphones/headset (wrappable in one hand) in my lifetime and I've got to say Jaybird's really hit the spot.
1. Forgot the name but it has "blue" in the company name: No use for me reviewing the first one as people wouldn't know what to get if I say it's good, but it had a turn-to-release charging cover and had a thick body, wasn't overly viable but it was a decent first pair.
2. Plantronics Backbeat GO 1: This was the one I tossed into the washing machine twice and it stopped working, the buttons were too "gummy" and after a while I was able to peel the buttons off.
3. Plantronics Backbeat GO 2: The reason I replaced this was because sound was lost on one side. Overall nice pair of cheap headphones if you're new into the bluetooth earphone scene. I see many people with this pair and it goes from 300-400 HKD which is dirt cheap. I tossed it in the washing machine twice and perfectly works, despite the foam in the individual earpieces peeling, sound production is fair.
4. Jabra Rox Wireless: Sold this piece of garbage because of it's BT4.0 problems on many devices. It has a magnetic suspend feature when you flip the headphones to the side it will stick together on your neck. Caused issues on my Note 3, OnePlus One, Macbook Air and Macbook Pro - doesn't want to reconnect properly and caused random reboots on my Android device. Also the first version I got had a faulty microUSB port which wiggled around with a USB plugged in. Not recommended!
5. Jaybird Bluebuds X: This was by far the most premium bang-to-the-buck headphone I bought. Currently lasting 8 hours charge compared to all the other's 4 hour battery, nice bass and treble balance, a funky circular storage unit and plastic "wings" that allow for the headphone to stay in your ear. It also has waterproofing/sweatproofing by Liquipel and that adds to the value of the headphone. I used this for over 3 months now and haven't regretted it yet. The only downside is the higher, more premium pricing. When I first put this pair on I felt like the sound was surrounding me compared to my old headphones, and the sound reproduction was way more superior.
