Hi everyone,
I have a problem mainly with Viber, partially with IMO and WhatsApp.
No notification appears on the phone, only when I open the actual app.
I have allowed all possible access posiibilities via Settings, problem insists, even after I unistalled and reinstalled App.
Can you help?

There might be something like protected apps under settings...try to add your apps there

It should be in the phone manager. Go to phone manager, and there's a setting icon top right. Click on that and go on protected apps. Protect the apps you wish to run in background and receive notifications from.
I use a P8 Lite, protect apps used to appear in settings. But after marshmallow it's found in phone manager after update.

Hi, I use the Gear Fit with a Huawei Android mobile. Pairing works fine. Unfortunately the notifications don't appear on the Gear. I turned WhatsApp, SMS, Calendar and phone calls on in the Samsung Gear mobile app, but the only thing that works is showing an incoming phone call...
Any experiences or suggestions?
thx
Try installing Android Wear onto your phone. I've heard it somehow interacts with the phone to send notifications to Tizen devices. S2 and Fit 2. You don't need to open it, just install it.
Did that and it worked... though now the Gear App crashes when I try to open it. but for now I'm happy getting notifications and there are no apps to download anyway...
thx for your suggestion! ?

Glad that worked, but Gear App should not be crashing. You may want to try and reinstall it if you have not. There are a lot of new faces in the Gear store now as well.
Unfortunately it still crashes after clicking the icon. Connection is working though. I uninstalled both Android Wear and the Gear app, cleared cache in the settings but didn't help.

Okay, it could be the phone then. The app doesn't crash on a native Samsung phone from my experience.
if I turn off Bluetooth and disconnect, the app works fine. As soon as I turn it on it crashes so I never get to install apps and watch faces.
maybe it has something to do with my recent Marshmallow update that came in the middle of playing around with the Fit2...
I have added Whatsapp and Hike to the protected app list, but still when the app is closed it stops getting push notifications.
Is this really an bug? If yes, Do we have a workaround for this?
IN Honor 7, it was working fine.. But 5X is having some problem it seems.

The problem seems to be with the device correctly registering with Google's push notification servers. I tested the device and it failed a simple push notification test sequence, which my Moto E passes every time.
This is very disappointing, because both my wife and I purchased the 5X and it isn't working properly for either of us.
I think I'm going to flash CyanogenMod and see if it's better.
Update: replaced stock ROM with CM13, so far so good!
Hi everybody,
I also am having problems not getting push notifications on my Honor 5X from my Arlo (home security camera) app. When the camera senses motion, it sends a notification and records a video. My phone does not receive a push notification, however, when I open the Arlo app I am able to see the video that was recorded.
The funny thing is, I can get immediate push notifications from my Arlo camera on my Motorola Moto X (1st generation) phone.
I have given my Arlo app every notification permission that there is.
I have spent weeks exchanging emails with Arlo tech support, and they have had me try every possible solution in the book, but nothing has worked. It's very discouraging.
UPDATE: I just installed an app called Push Notifications Fixer, and when I walked in front of my Arlo camera, I got an immediate notification! Amazing!
Does Push Notifications Fixer works for anyone in EMUI ?
Guys!
I found a quick solution for anyone who is missing notifications when the app is closed by taskmanager or force close.
It's something I just tested multiple times and this solution seems to be the only working one.
I missed a lot of notifications for WhatsApp and Facebook since i closed them on the task manager screen.
The app and the service are being closed both when you do that.
However i found out that when making in a widget keeps the push service keeps working, even after closing the app manually.
I use nova launcher so i created widgets and resized them to the smallest possible.
You can now close these apps without any problems and keeping your notifications alive.
Let me know if it also works for you guys.
Should work with any app that can create widgets as well.

Had the same issue (not getting notifications from the Arlo app), tried the Push Notification Fixer app, but that didn't solve the problem. Found this page explaining the issue and how to resolve it and that worked beautifully. All good now. Wanted to share to help out others. Good luck!
Hi all,
I'm no fan of Facebook at all, to be honest I hate it thanks to all privacy matters mr Zuckerberg inficts upon us, and as you all know Facebook comes preinstalled on your device. In general these kind of applications are hard to remove from your device. I found a way to remove Facebook from my device and, after all, it's pretty simple.
Download and use File Commander from the app store, start the app and go to internal storage. Type in the search box Facebook and delete all the results File Commander finds. When you go then to Playstore, you will see that Facebook is disabled , but after this action, Facebook does not show up anymore when you press the apps button on your homescreen. This will also save your battery, cause Facebook is always running in the background. Hope this helps,
kindest regards, kuzibri
Or... you can just disable it in Settings.

You're entirely right, but disabling is something else than completely removing the app. Even after disabling it, it still uses your battery, also it will still appear in the list when you press the app button on your homescreen. On my device it's gone and checking battery usage by FB tells me that it did not use the battery after removal. Furthermore, removing FB also removed FB App manager and FB update manager.

Here is what i have after disabling FB app in Settings.
<Screenshot below>
According to what i know since JellyBean, system apps (FB in this case) are located in either /system/app or /system/priv-app, which is not accessible by File Commander by default. Only by deleting FB's APK and data files (which cannot be done without root) can it be removed from your system.
And you cannot install a modded FB either way.

Disabling is something Google put just purposely for this effect.
It removes from the homescreen. And it will not show up in your battery.
Perhaps you have confused it with "Force Stop".
Disable Facebook and all system apps containing name facebook and that's it.
Hi guys,
thanks for all your responses and advices. I can only speak for myself, but FB is indeed entirely removed from my device. How do I know that? Connected my device to my laptop, started My PC and went to the internal storage of the X1. On my PC I enabled "show hidden items" and I was able to see all maps on my device. Opened every map in order to see if there were any FB related files, etc, but found nothing. Then I selected Internal Storage and typed in the search box for Facebook and related items and there were no results at all. Also, since I removed FB, it saves me on a daily basis 8% to 10% of battery drainage. Now I'm able to use my X1 three days without charging instead of two.
This means also that you can remove FB from you device via your Laptop by enabling show hidden items.

Using file commander searching for 'Facebook' only a ringtone file appears ! As you imply I want to remove every Facebook reference on my phone. I used the 'Clear Data' option within Facebook & freed over 27Mb of space. Now I want to free the remaining 28Mb being used (presumably by the software). It sounds like that is what you achieved, so I'm interested in duplicating this on my phone (with more success than I managed). Please advise (thanks).
Hi there,
I recently bought Oppo A57, a great mid-range smartphone. I tried to install my favourite messaging app, i.e., Pulse.
However, there is a strange issue I am facing while making it the default SMS app from the settings. Even though I manage to successfully set it, the app accesses all the permissions etc and works pretty well until I recieve a text message. Right after it a prompt pops up and says "For your messages security, System message app has been set as the default message app.". It is quite annoying!
How can I change that security?
Kindly help me to resolve this issue.
Thank you.

No, I got Redmi device. Oppo will never allow other ROMS on their devices.
Also to add some more detail regarding the issue; I rooted my device and disabled the System Messaging app using Titanium Backup. It worked but I would always receive same prompt that I mentioned on receiving a text message, but this time it wouldn't revert back to the system app as it's been disabled. Moreover, I tried Xposed frameworks as well to hide that system prompt but had no luck.

You can't, as far as I know. They have restricted apps like SMS or Dialer to be changed from default. It isn't possible to change in Color OS 3.0, F5 Youth has upgraded version so you should try it. They might have changed the restriction.
Go to:
- settings -> additional settings
- application management
- default app management (located at bottom)

first of all i have rooted my oppo a57.
After root i have an app named as "device control". I used this app to delete my default sms app.
And than i use luckypatcher to make my custom sms app as system app ??
thats all
Glad to hear that, @dilwash_rind
I have completed the first step, I have removed the built in Messaging app, Now next step seems difficult to me because i could not understand it.
I have installed the Go SMS Pro as 3rd party sms app and i have also installed Lucky Patcher.
Will you explain a little bit more that how to make GO SMS Pro as default Mesaging App?
Does anyone know of any way to block/stop apps such as Facebook from viewing my other installed apps?
With the new Facebook update they've now got tracking of your off Facebook activity. Its in your settings and it's called, Off Facebook Activity.
Don't believe me? Check, it's deffinatelly there now in latest update.
I know can turn it off but them being able to see my other apps and to see what I do on there just annoys me.
Is there any way that I can prevent them from seeing my apps.
Also some things I've googled have ended up getting my email address as got emails about what I searched.
I have ap-ops which don't have option to block it, I have xposed which I don't like to use as it stops other apps from functioning but I might start using it again if it stops this. Also I have magisk installed and rooted via this.
I have a Samsung galaxy S7.
Hope there's a way to do this, any apps or any other way that anyone knows.
Thank you.

I've uninstalled it for now, didn't need titanium though.
Can use Facebook via a browser instead.
Thanks. Would be good if a way to block even browsers from viewing apps and getting my email address.
@Guestme
You always can try to turn of and/or revoke an user-app's permission. Of course it then may happen that app is no longer properly functioning.
Below are the app permissions available on Android 6.0 and up. The permissions you see on your device may vary by manufacturer.
Body Sensors
Calendar
Camera
Contacts
Location
Microphone
Phone
SMS
Storage
Note: If device is running a version lower than Android 6.0, go to review app permissions for more information about how permissions work on your device.

I did disable all Facebook permissions but still had my off of Facebook apps information. Who knows if other apps are doing the same thing, I block all unneeded permissions in all my apps and keep them frozen until I need to use them. Thanks for your reply.
