LG G5 network sim lock - LG G5 Questions & Answers

Hi all,
I bought LG G5 in Bosnia and Herzegovina and it worked with BH Mobile SIM card. Now I have gone out of the country and put in different SIM card, and it asks me to enter network sim unlock pin. I bought phone in a store, not from the operator directly so I expected it to be unlocked.
While I'm trying to get them send me unlock code, I am also looking online for a solution, but so far I see the only possibility is to use online unlocking services. However, I see there are a lot of fake ones, so I'd like to ask if there is any reputable source for unlocking the SIM or it's best to take the phone to some of the phone service stores and ask them to unlock it for a fee?
Thank you for your help.
Regards,

[Q] Unlocking SIM CARD

Hello XDA,
I am thinking of getting a xperia Z Ultra from a friend in the UK. I was wondering if there is any known way to unlock the SIM CARD since I'd get it shipped here ( Portugal ).
Any info is very appreciated!
Thanks,
Marco
I don't understand what you mean by unlocking the simple card. Sim cards aren't locked in the UK, but phones and 3g tablets are sometimes network locked. The phone may need to be unlocked to use on your network, depending on where your UK based friend buys it from. If they buy it from a network store, eg 3, Vodafone, etc it will probably be locked to that network. If they buy it from Carphone Warehouse or from an online third party company it will almost certainly be unlocked ready to use on any network. Please note that the ultra uses a micro sim, so if your current phone takes a mini simple (standard sized sim) you will have to get it cut, or ask your network to exchange it for you.

Sorry, maybe I wasn't clear enough. I meant if there is a way to unlock the network on the phone ( meaning, that I can use any sim card from any operator on the market )

My apologies, I put simple card, instead of sim card. I am from the UK, and if the phone is purchased from a store here called Carphone Warehouse, it will be sim free, which means it is unlocked to any network when it is bought. It will not need to be unlocked, as it will have never been locked to a network in the first place. You should be able to simply put in your Portuguese sim card, and use the phone as soon as it arrives. If your friend buys it from a network store; for example they buy it at a 3 store, a Vodafone store, etc, it will be locked to the network on which it is purchased, and will need to be unlocked, for a fee. I have the same phone, which I purchased online, and it is sim-free. If I had purchased it from Carphone Warehouse, it would also have been sim free.
Sim free means it was never locked to a network from the date of manufacture.
Unlocked means it was network locked originally, and could only be used on the network it was locked to at that time. At some point it was unlocked, whether for free or for a charge, and now works on all networks.
Network locked means it was network locked originally, and is still network locked now. This means that it will only work on the network it is locked to, unless it is unlocked at a later date.
Almost all phones sold in Carphone Warehouse are sold as unlocked, except for those which are advertised as being on 3 network. These are network locked to 3, and can only be unlocked by 3, for a fee of around £15. (UK pounds, not Euros).
There are companies online that sell unlocked handsets, but if your friend is buying in store, they would be best going to Carphone Warehouse, as there will be no need for them, or you, to get the phone unlocked.
I hope this helps to clarify things for you.

[Q] SIM Card Service Provider Locked

I have an Lg Optimus L9 P769 from MetroPcs; I want to switch to a different carrier,
but my phone is service provider locked. I called metropcs customer service to get the
unlock code, but I don't have service on my phone, so they won't give it to me. I read a
few threads that talked about this problem, and most said to buy a code from ebay; the
codes are cheap (around $2 USD), but I currently have $0 and don't get payed for two
weeks. So, is there any way I could unlock my phone without paying? Maybe through flashing it?
Any help is appreciated.
EDIT:
Would it be possible to call LG and get the unlock code?
I am having the same problem, did you managed to unlock the sim card?
Thought it would be easier to unlock it, but seems all web pages charge for this service..
My phone is the LG L9 P768G

[Q] [HTC Desire 310] Best way to unlock?

Hi, I've been researching and I found out that apparently you cannot sim unlock a desire 310 by installing a different rom.
People recommended using a sim unlock service (like you pay for a code to unlock it), and they said that some of these services are sketchy/dodgy..
Can anyone personally recommend a good website to get a code from?
Or even a better way to do this?
(It's locked to Vodafone if that makes a difference)
Thanks
You could try sim-unlock.net , i tried to get an unlock code for the same device but unfortunately they coulnd't find one as my phone hasn't been locked by htc but by orange romania. I got refunded though so i'd say it's pretty much a safe website. Give it a try, the price isn't high either!

hi there, I also have a vodafone locked 310 here and need to unlock it... did you ever sort yours? Also have you come across any good resources for custom roms/root/modding etc ? thanks
You have to know if the vodafone carrier of the country you bought your phone from locks the device with a different lock code other than the one provided by htc. For example i bought the desire 310 from Orange Romania, and only after i bought it i found out that both orange and vodafone romania change the factory lock code with a code of their own. In this particular case, i haven't had any luck unlocking the phone with any site that provides codes for a small fee. I also contacted htc and they said my device (according to the imei) does not appear to be branded nor locked by any carrier. I had to send the phone back to romania and have it serviced with special tools and apps to get it lock-free. You could still try some online service. If it's a pro website, they will refund your money if no code is found or the code they provide doesn't work. If that doesn't work, then you'll have to unlock it in a service center.

I need help with network unlocking my HTC Desire 626s (T-Mobile) PLEASE HELP!

I know this is a little off topic, but I just bought this phone on T-Mobile prepaid last night, in hopes to pop in my Consumer Cellular SIM and use it. Well, that was shot down because it said the phone is network locked and it needs to have an unlock code to work on other GSM networks. I called and chatted with T-Mobile and they are refusing to give me the network unlock code until I start a prepaid plan with them, spend at least $100 on refill cards, and then they can "request" an unlock code from the appropriate department.
Does anyone know how to network unlock the device without doing it through T-Mobile? I don't know if I trust those cell unlocker websites for network codes that you have to pay money for.
Any other phone I've purchased, like an AT&T prepaid phone, they never require an unlock code. I also called Consumer Cellular and they don't have network unlock codes.
Gotta pay to play, unfortunately. Just use eBay, where you can see reviews and have some buyer protection. I help unlock phones at my job, and I know that blowfish and swiftunlocks.com have been reliable. HTC unlocks are usually done pretty quickly.
