E5803 in boot loop - Xperia Z5 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I started this root process:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/z5-compact/general/summary-tutorial-root-sony-xperia-z5-t3360515
I downloaded E5803_StoreFront_1299-8255_32.0.A.6.200_R2B, built the FTF, and flashed... and accidentally removed the cable prematurely. No problem, it let me start again. It restarted, rebuilt the Dalvik, and started the setup process. Then I get errors of the "Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped." variety. Also android.process.acore and android.process.media are crashing.
Things I've tried:
-- Hitting OK just leads to the next error. I can't continue the setup process. The best I've been able to do is hold the power button, click OK and then Power Off or Reboot quickly. Yay. I can turn it off.
-- Holding down volume and plugging in while running Flashtool nothing connects. USB Debugging is disabled. Logs below...
-- Holding up volume & powering on does nothing.
-- Holding down volume & powering on tells me I'm in safe mode but doesn't open any new options for fixing it.
-- Xperia Companion Software Repair. Plugging in while holding the down volume does nothing.

[UPDATES] Clarified the actions taken and the results. Added FlashTool logs.

If your BL is unlocked, can't you just wipe /data in the bootloader then flash a rom with adb/twrp sideload and be good to go? I'm new to the z5c scene so don't take my word for it but yeah. Losing your DRM keys is really not a big deal anyway with the drm restore zip. There's also no justifiable reason to do anything with a custom kernel, ever.

Yeah, that's the problem. I was on the second step where you back up the DRM keys before unlocking the bootloader. It's still locked. I would happily trash the DRM keys if that's what it would take to get this working again.
Is there a way to unlock the bootloader outside the OS?
Thanks.

Have you tried fastboot oem unlock? Hopefully you enabled oem unlock in settings beforehand

No, that's the problem. It's not unlocked yet.

And you can't factory reset it? Um, maybe look for some hardbrick recovery guides and see if there's something you can apply to your situation

Need help unlocking bootloader on Xperia z2 using flashtool (windows 8.1)
Hi, I posted this on a thread a couple of days ago and someone said I rather should post it here. So I hope somebody can help me with my issue. Sorry for my poor english.
This is the first time im trying to root a phone.
I bought the xperia z2, and when the official way to onlock the bootloader failed (sony), I tried to use Flashtool.
I started with downloading the flashtool, and followed every step to download it correctly. When everything was set, I connected the phone to the pc while holding the minus volume button.
The phone then connects to the pc and flashtool starts unlocking the bootloader. But after a couple of seconds the phone disconnects automatcally. It isnt something wrong with the USB cable, it connects fine without the flashtool.
This problem persists after trying over and over again. I have reinstalled flashtool and all the drivers. Turned off antivirus and changed the pc setting so it enables me to install the flashtool hardwares. Im using windows 8.1.
The message I get from flashtool from I start up flashtool til the phone disconnect is this:

Help unbricking my phone!

So I have the Z5 Compact which had full device encryption on it.
I was under the Sony Support section and about to reinstall android due to an issue about my microphone. All went happy until it rebooted and came up with the message
"The software update failed. Make sure that your phone is connected to the computer and try again."
I have tried and tried and tried, and no success so far. I have even installed FlashTool and downloaded the latest stock firmware. On flashtool, I get as far as:

Can anyone help?
Why didn't you try official EMMA / SEUS from Sony first?
Never heard of them... Will have to look into that now.
Emma doesnt seem to support Z5 (going by website compatibility), and I cant find any information about SEUS.

You need follow its instructions, connect it in flashmode
Press and hold "Volume up and power button" until phone turns off completely. Or use the off button close to the sim card tray. Once it's completely turned off, select the firmware in flashtool and press on flash. When flashtool ASKS you to connect, hold VOLUME DOWN button and connect to PC

Idk if this will help much but a similar case.
Edit: I see you're not putting the phone into flash mode. As others have said do that.if that isn't working try the previous version of flash tool,I've not tried the.20 version but I know the last one works.

Debugging must be ON, no?
Scrouz,
Did you ever get this fixed?
I had a similar problem (http://forum.xda-developers.com/z5-compact/help/e5803-boot-loop-t3422879). The problem you had here is the phone needs to be in USB debugging mode to use flashmode. The flash clears the USB debugging settting, though, so it's unavailable.
Not sure how to fix the problem... just wondering if you had any luck.
For use Flashtool, you don't need Usb debugging to be ON. Just use correct software, drivers (for model and Flaahmod drivers too) for your device and follow guide in the program.

Then I continue by pressing thunder button and choosing the Flashmode instead of Fastboot mode
I select the right path of my firmware source folder and the FTF file selected automatically
Content show this filename:
system.sin
userdata.sin
elabel.sin
boot_delivery.xml
cache.sin
loader.sin
boot.sin
oem.sin
fotakernel.sin
partition.sin
app_log.sin
Only on Wipe section, APPLOG + CACHE + DATA are tick automatically while the rest are not
Then I press the Flash button and I wait awhile until the popup window ask for a phone connection
After that I connect my phone on my laptop using Flashmode by pressing the VOLUME DOWN button
And the Flashtool log show me this result

So, any help for me? :crying:
Today and again I trying to flash out the phone (phone condition still as before)
Going to nearest Cyber Cafe (for better internet connection) which I think there might be some problem with my laptop internet connection / firewall / antivirus
Flashtool - version 0.9.24.4 (latest version at this moment)
Firmware - download from flashtool itself (Xperifirm)
I install all the drivers on the list (which provided along with flashtool which inside the flashtool folder)
Run Flashtool (all data downloaded well from github) and choose the firmware
** I dont really remember which firmware version i used since i have around 4 different versions but i believe its from the one that I downloaded from Xperifirm
I select the right device in DEVICE FILTER
I choose 128k in USB BUFFER section
Flash the phone when requested
And all flash results was ok until the end, but got one ERROR - System.sin error **
I open the phone, blue wave animation around 5mins and Android update showing up
Then the phone working back
Nice ~
** there are not so much things that I can remember because I am thinking to change the path of .flashtool into my external HDD (File > Change User Home) and prompt box tell me to move all the .flashtool folder into my HDD. Then, even I move folder into HDD I cannot close the prompt box. So this is why I cannot remember which the firmware that im using and get the whole log results.
** i still cannot access into the phone to check which OS is it (Marshamallow? Lollipop?) because its asking password to unlock the phone and the phone is not mine (he still doesnt reply to my message which I requesting the phone password).
I dont know what the cause will be for the ERROR - System.sin error
hmm will see how it goes after I can access to the phone
Today Im able to access to the phone Setting,
Checked the OS was Marshamallow and the firmware used 29.2.B.0.129
No problem happen so far..
So I wanna thank to
Androxyde - for the awesome flashtool
Xperifirm - for the firmware
XdaForum - some of the guide thread around Sony Xperia C5 Ultra section
I've been having the same issues with my c5-dual, i was able to repair it using Xperia companion but after a successful repair and use for over a week, it freezes again and stays at the blue wavy Xperia animation forever. this has happened like 3 times over. Please does anyone have any long lasting solution?
