So I've seen a few people (myself included) being affected by poor battery life since upgrading to DP5, and after much investigation (which led to nothing) I just decided to do the following and it has helped restore my battery life to what I was seeing previously in DP4:
-Download FlashFire from https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.chainfire.flash
-tap on the (+) in the bottom right corner after opening the app.
-select ONLY wipe cache partition, cache partition format, and dalvik cache.
-let it do it's thang
-give it ~12 hours to allow your phone to sort through it's personal sh*t and stop crying about its missing cache.
-????
-profit.
This worked for me coming from DP4 on a dirty flash even though I wiped cache and dalvik after flashing in TWRP, so I'm not sure why this did the trick but it did. Hope this helps you guys as much as it did me! Cheers!

Uuuuh is it just me or does this not look like it fixed the issue for you? I haven't tried it, but judging by your screen shots you're still only going to get 3 & 1/2 hours of sot. What was battery life like before doing this, because I came here trying to improve battery life on dp5 but it looks like your version of "fixing" the issue got you to where I am now. Can anybody else confirm that this did something for them?

As stated, this was taken after I had been in direct sunlight all day. That is also up from coming from getting like 1 1/2 hours of SOT yesterday while I was indoors all day, so I'll take it. Also, I was only getting around 4 1/2 hours of SOT on DP4 anyways.

I only seem to get 3.5-4 hours sot on dp5. Got 4.5-5 on chroma with elemental x kernel and advanced interactive governors.
My battery life was awful when I upgraded from dp4 to dp5. To fix it I wiped cache and dalvik cache in twrp. Then I used battery calibration by Nema in the Google play store. Now instead of 3 hours sot, I get 4.5-5 hours sot.

Hi,
I have been using the same ROM (cm9.1.0) for about a month now, and just yesterday I realized I was getting horrible battery issues. Nothing has changed recently so I'm very confused. When I look at the battery option on settings, I see the phone process taking 62% of the battery life (when you first open the screen it's called sec-ril then changes to Phone), compared to the screen which is at 15% and everything else which is at 4% or less. Battery life is absolutely horrible now for a reason which I don't understand. I am using UCLF6 on 4.0.4 but I don't know what would have caused the recent change. I would post a screenshot but my screenshot thing is apparently not working at the moment. By clicking the phone process it says "CPU Total: 3h17m14s, CPU foreground 1s, Keep awake 2m 34s, Included Packages: SIM Toolkit, Phone/Messaging Storage, Phone). It may be helpful (or not) to know I have probably used the phone for 10 mins or less the whole day and all of the texting I do is done through Google Voice (as well as most calls).
Thanks if you can provide any help.
I think its obvious you have apps keeping your phone awake. That one was a real head scratcher.
can someone tell me how to fix this all I did was make one phone call that was less than one minute and didn't do anything else and this happened

Try rebooting your phone first and see if it persists. Then repost your battery stats by kernel wakelok.
from a galaxy far far away....
I have started seeing this(sec_ril process draining my battery) too. Sometimes only. Did anyone figure out how to fix it permamnetly.Wiping caCHES fixes it for a few days and then it comes back. I install nigtlies by wiping everything including internal sd card
I just had this start on me within the last day, day and a half, Phone is using 100% CPU forever. Rebooted, checked APNs, etc... Going to try clearing cache although AFAIK that has nothing to do with such things, might try reflashing...
Well, I don't mind eating words sometimes. I had rebooted a few times which didn't help, but wiped cache in TWRP and sec-ril has stopped its nonsense.
Mine started doing this a day after installing CM9.1. I literally have nothing installed on my phone. 20 minutes of usage after being fully charged and it's down to 83% battery, with "Phone" using up 61% and Screen 23% (I'm on minimum brightness). Wth :/
Hi folks
I've bought an sgs2 about an half year ago.
But unfortunately my phone hit the ground before 4 or 5 months. My display has 2-3 little cracks.
First, I don't realized that my battery was draining soo extremly, but since a few weeks I noticed it.
Display uses about 90% and more from the battery.
I'm on WizzedKat 2.9 Final with DorimanX v8.43
Before this I was first on Resurrection Remix and then on PAC with both original kernels.
Is this battery drain kernel related, rom related or is the cracked display the reason?
Sorry for my (probably) bad english.
Greetings from rainy Germany

If your screen is on for more than 3 hours in a full battery discharge, I think you are getting decent battery backup. Cracked screen cant be blamed for this. There can be many possibilities on which you will have to work one by one and eliminate them till you find the rootcause
1. You have apps which are triggering some screen on wakelocks.
2. Your battery life is over. It needs a change.
3. You have already tried various ROMs/kernels. Its time to try another modem/radio. The probability of it being the cause is quite low as you are having drain because of screen, but still, worth a try.

First, thanks for your response @banjara!
1. I've installed BBS and there are no signs for me that there are display wakelocks. But i can be wrong.
2. I can eliminate this issue, because i've tried several batterys from friends, but compared to their devices my device lasts (with same battery) muuuuch shorter than theirs.
3. I decided to flash "XXLS6" modem (I was on XXLS8) and flashed SlimKAT now.
I will report in 2-3 days on how much energy the display uses.
Thank you!
Are others having this? i mean i go through a full battery about twice a day.... I cant figure out what is draining it so bad. i have used WLD, greenify, and bootmanager to try to figure it out..... None of my apps are ever on the battery list, and screen is around 50% usually with android system and android OS always being up the list. I always thought it was my bad signal strength at work but i had two weeks off and my phone NEVER lasted even close to a day.
I have factory reset once but loaded my same apps backup.
I heard someone else mention that the sprint has this weird battery drain that is explainable and was wondering if others see that also.
I am on the search for a 6000+ mah battery i know it will have a replacement back plate but i don't want the whole case thing like the 9000 zero lemon.
Sounds like kernel wakelock
As of the last two days i have also been experiencing much faster battery drain. Have had the phone since launch and never had this problem.
I do not use the device in excess. Very few if any phone calls per day, some texting and gmail, occasional skim of xda, huffpo, phandroid apps and very light Twitter use if bored and not near the computer.
Battery has dipped 5% since writing this post...that's all of 1-2 minutes in use.

That's not normal for a Sprint LG G3. A couple of questions:
Have you looked at the battery stats page to see what app(s) are using the most battery? I'd suggest taking a screen shot of that page and posting it here.
Have you tried rebooting the phone? If there's an app or process running out of control that will often clear it up.
Are you rooted? If so, install better battery stats so we can get a better look at what's eating the battery.
Finally, you might want to take a look at this thread: http://forums.androidcentral.com/sa...android-system-eating-your-battery-check.html
While it's unlikely you have the same problem I did, the tools and techniques I used to debug it might be useful for you.
Gonna wait for some custom roms to see if the problem just goes away.

Dude the battery app should show you what is causing it. Something has gone rouge!!! I just had my weather app running in the background using GPS for 5 hours, yeah my battery went way down. Freeze some BS apps. I routinely get 30 hrs plus on a single charge. Not the phone itself something you are using is causingi it.
As requested, my craptastic battery info. Brightness was 83.

*EDIT*
bought BBS, phone is up stairs charging... imagine that... will post those screens next drain...
Mine drained 20% overnight. There are no wake locks. Is it because of the weak mobile signal?

Why dont you put on airplane mode to test wether the the low signal cause the draining ? But in my case, even in low signal it only drain 2%

Auto sync?? Google Location services??
looks like signal issue?
other than what others mentioned and signal issue, did you flashed anything recently? if so, did you wipe cache and dalvik cache?

I am running Exodus ROM. Have only had the phone for a few days so I am not sure if its the ROM or the phone! So far I am only getting about 2.5 hours of SOT over a day of use. Was clean install/flash. Wiped everything and flashed latest opengapps.

Suggest u wipe cache and dalvik cache.
Then let battery go to 3% to 10% before charging to 100%. Let this cycle runs for few times. See if its better.
Yup, i would suggest the same with @Tiongkia because you just got the phone and flashed custom rom

Hi Guys,
After updated to Pie my stock cam isn't taking good pictures in low light...
Every pic that I took now it's almost black and the ambients have a low light.. Even if I put exposition higher, the result is the same. Is in automatic mode.
What I mean is: Before the updated the pictures was fine and now they are black in low light
GCam: (I wasn't using night sight)

I ´ve had several issues after upgrading to pie: bad battery performance, apps were forced to suspend during usage and the camera behaved strange in some situations.
So I decided to do a factory reset and all the issues are gone. Especially the battery performance is better than ever: over the day with 4,5 to 5 hour SOT I´ve still 30% battery in the evening which was only 10% with oreo.
The factory reset doesn´t hurt that much because the samsung cloud backup has really improved (it took almost 2 hours for the complete restore, but it´s worth waiting )

When I updated to Pie I did a factory reset!
The only problem with my device is the camera in low light ambients...
