My device(Kate) haven't really arrived yet but because of the abyssmally slow internet in my country, I'm already downloading the necessary stuffs.
Checking the newbie guide by SharkcpN:
7. Flashing AOSP 7.x Nougat ROMs
- Boot To TWRP
- Backup Current ROM
- Flash Android N Firmware Zip
- Reboot to Recovery
- Factory Reset
- Flash ROM Zip
- Flash G-Apps 7.0/7.1 Zip
- Reboot To System

The thing is I don't know what that Android N Firmware is and I can't seem to find it. I already have all the stuffs I need except that. Can anyone provide a link?
Find latest MIUI firmware (for kate, at dev section) and you are good to go.

Hi my friends. Please do not install this update under any condition. It is necessary to patch this rom (7.1) for making it ready to enhance its modules for webview support. I mean after installing Gapps, the system would lose its webview impelement which is google webview by default. If you have flashed the rom, and no downgrade to 6 is possible due to bootloader sw.rev error, you can flash the (fixrom) 5 file rom 6.1 by odin and consider that only Flash the AP file . You will have a clean version of android with the error in (about)! The moment you want to find buildinfo to open the developer tool tree, you can search the word buildnumber in the search box in setting. Otherwise it is probably impossible. Goodluck

Had on LOS 14.1 and AOKP unknown battery processes so I changed to this LOS 13.Now the question is if you would build a newer security patch if it doesen't need too much time?

I will push one or two updates to this Rom.
This is great but and I know I shouldn't say it but... what.... about... android 8 :-/
you guys are great don't feel rushed by this message but I just wondered whether there was any progress after the broken camera and audio version that was posted
Hello,
I've just installed this ROM on EU kinzie that had previously installed latest stock and it doesn't detect the SIM. The ROM feels realy smooth , but without the sim it's rendered unusable. If you need mroe details and come up with fix I'll test it again.

Error 7 TWRP updatin aex 6.1 to aex 6.3

Hi, I have a Problem with updating aosp extended 6.1 to 6.3 i'm using the official build from their webpage in official latest twrp, i get error 7 while updating and it says i need minimum firmware version 9.1.24 or newer i downloaded the latest firmware from xiaomi and installed it with no error but i get the same error after i tried again to update the custom rom i had the same issues with official resurrection remix update so i switched to aex but now i have the same error i hate it please fix your firmware xiaomi or can anybody help me to fix this. I know how to delete the firmware checking in the rom update file but i dont want because its unsafe what if my firmware really is to old.
try to download the rom again, maybe you have a bad / corrupt download (not complete) Complete wipe is recommended when switching ROMs, caution your peronal files will be deleted.

Upgrading CM9.1 on my i9100

Hi all,
Its time to upgrade Android 4.0.4 to a newer version.
Whats-app isn't working anymore and some other apps.
I would like to run it smoothly with all functions working correctly, especially GPS. So the latest android isn't needed i think.
I am thinking of CM12.1 (5.1) to start with. I know i have to resize my system partition and flash a compatible recovery.
But i can't find a step by step guide as this is a pretty old version. I hope someone can point me in the right direction.
thanks
As far as I remember, you don't have to repartition until Android 6.
Also, Android 5 ROMs are quite outdated, and might contain several security vulnerabilities. I would recommend going for LineageOS 11 ROM (Android 4.4.4) by grzwolf here on XDA. It contains latest Android Security Patches. Here's a KitKat compatible recovery: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=79196916&postcount=230

Thanks for your advice. I should get this working.
However I see Gapps from 2016 have to be used. Will GMaps and the Play store update themselves to a new version after installation or will i get stuck with the old ones?

It seems like you need to flash ROM, boot into it, then reboot to recovery and flash latest OpenGApps, reboot again and then you should be able to sign in to the play store:
