Since for some reason I cannot flash any marshmallow FTF on my kid's M4 aqua. I'm encountering byte error or something during flashing. Therefore, I also cannot perform the adoptable storage mod since the phone is stuck with lollipop.
I instead went for link2sd app(needs root) and found it also works fine. I partitioned the 32GB as ~20GB normal fat32 and ~10GB as second partition(I used ext4, could also be ext2 or ext3) . Apk, cache, and data(for paid version) can be transferred to the second partition. Even for apk transfer only, it made a world of difference for this memory-challenged device.
Just for info to those who are in the same situation.

Link2SD will not recognize ext2 /... / ext4 partitition on my M4 (M4 with MM 6.0.1)
Mhh, are you on latest flashtool? I had that kind of an issue but fixed it when I updated it
Jep - latest flashtool / mini partitition tool
Better results with Apps2SD, but only without mounted part.
Confirmed, I updated my kid's M4 to Marshmallow and link2sd doesn't work anymore with sdext file system. Now I'm in the process of reverting back her phone to Lollipop to have some more space for user apps. Plus, the speaker sound in MM is terrible.

How to Move apps from Phone memory to SD in Android 2.1
in Xperia X10
My phone is rooted.
any help????
Your options would be scripts like DarkTremor or (the slightly more user-friendly) Link2SD.
But be warned: both are not 100% stable... I've finally removed DarkTremor after a lot of issues: How about upgrading to a custom ROM instead?
Hi.
I dont want to start new topic so I use this one to describe my problem.
I read a lot of webs to find solution but here's comes some problems with that.
I've got Samsung Gio S5560 and 4GB SD card. After creating 2 primary partitions FAT32 and ext2 link2sd says that "no space left on device" and i cannot do anything. Even when I use 2GB card or create partition f.e. ext3 it doesn't works.
Can anyone help with that ?
Sorry for my english. I hope is understandable
Of course phone had been rooted.
Android 2.2.1
Regards.
I'm not sure how these scripts determine which partition to use... have you tried partitioning through ClockworkRecovery? Maybe they need the partitions in a certain order or (more likely) some other requirement. CR would very likely take any such requirements into account.
P.S. Your English sounds fine to me, but this doesn't come from a native speaker either, so...
I used to create partitions MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition. On YT there ale some tutorials so I used them. At the beginning I create FAT32 and then ext2. Maybe at the morning I try some new configs with my SD card.
Hi guys,
I have a Sony ericsson X10 mini pro with nAa's Kernel 2.6.32.60-nAa-05 and miniCM10-4.1.0-20130518-NIGHTLY and I also flashed:
gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip,
miniCM7-SEMC_kb.zip and
querty_br.zip
On top of that a internal memory of 192MB and a 16GB SDHC class10 SD card.
Boring story part (with more details and links and stickie just in case I forget something ) :
So far so good until I start installing apps and noticed that with a couple the memory was full. After a little research I found link2SD was the solution,
the SD card I have is more than fit for the job.
But then starter the problems, after I partitioned, with MiniTool,
my SD card as FAT32 (~13GB) and ext-N (2, 3 & 4) (~1GB) as primary none worked (at least for long).
I had some success with Ext-3 but the 2nd time I restarted my phone, Scrips were nowhere to be seen nor any linking of some kind.
Then (after more Googling) I tried both partitions as FAT32 and there it was working cool again.
Well went to download more apps, but memory was full, how so? I added a GB to it!
Found that I would, also, need to use A2SDGUI and it's Scripts (Version 2.7.5.3 Beta 04).
Flashed the scripts and then tried to run A2SDGUI not working pop's this error window:
Exiting A2SDGUI
Could not start for one of these reasons:
Your device is not rooted
A2SD scripts could not be found
No EXT partition found
Click to collapse
Now I'm in trouble because android DOES NOT mount my 2nd partition if it's filesystem is not FAT32
(perhaps this is a scripting problem instead of Filesystem support ? )
And A2SDGUI is no longer being developed/suported.
Bottom line:
I installed link2SD but it only works when my 2nd partition is also FAT32, or else it won't mount,
and the phone internal memory continues to get shorter as I install apps.
Then I installed A2SDGUI and (Flashed) it's Scripts to try to JOIN the internal memory(/data)and SD card's 2nd partition so,
android doesn't give that annoying low memory error message.
I'm having trouble making andoid think that /data is ~1.2GB.
Can someone help me out on this? How can I "make" a "bigger" internal memory?
I searched Google but I couldn't find any GOOD answer to my question.
Shaameless self bump
Hey guys,
I've tried so many things now, but somehow the internal sdcard is not working on Xperia L with CM11.
Problem:
After clean flashing, when I open the camera app is crashes instantly. Other camera apps say they need an external storage. The gallery says "no external storage"
In the file browser I see a lost+found folder but can't open it or do anything (write/read) even with root access .
I tried pac_taoshan-nightly-20141214, and FXP-cm-11-20150301-UNOFFICIAL-taoshan. (all KitKat based)
I'm using TWRP 2.8.7.0.
Before, I was using the latest official cm12.1 nightly for xperia l. Lollipop was getting a bit heavy my phone so I decided to switch back. When on cm12.1 I had formatted the cache and data partitions to f2fs, sdcard0 was ext4. There no major issues.
Before flashing to Kitkat I wiped everything and formatted everything to ext4.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My external sd card is working fine.
After all this i flashed the original xperial L firmware 4.2.2, and on it everything worked fine. the camera worked, the pictures saved and opened in the album app.
Re-rooting and flashing kitkat brought the problem back.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Any help would be appreciated.
A solution would be better.
Hi everyone.
Recently i rooted my phone Xperia M4 Aqua E2303
I have Android 5.0 (26.1.A.3.92)
My Sd card: SanDisk Extreme 16GB
I've created another partition on my microSD card (EXT4, Primary)
I installed and bought Link2Sd Plus.
Link2SD Version 4.0.12
Some apps doesn't work when moved by link2sd app. They don't want to open.
Should I still leave some files on internal memory to keep apps (for example Messenger/Snapchat/Instagram) available to open?
When i move an app to SD i check every checkbox.
-Link application file
-Link dalvik-cache file
-Link library files
-Link internal data(available after buying Plus which i've already got)
Should I maybe change format of partiton to EXT2?
have you tried not moving the internal data? there might be incompatibility across partitions when it comes to internal data
Same problem here,..
Some Linked apps (chrome,uc,etc..) not starting up.
Helppp
Yes, your androed is 5.0
You can use EXT2 or vfat (VFAT IS NOT FAT32)
After create the scripts, you will get Link2sd working like the old times, ODEXING the apps, and forget the name dalvik-cache forever.
You can odex your apps with universal odexes using apktool armel 4.1 found on xda searchthread.
Or here:
http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=482809
Note:
Don't persist trying linking data, libs, and dalvik on androed 4.1+
This will crash after the first reboot after the linking.
dalvik is a death name.
After odex your linked apps, you need to link the new odexes in sdext2 mannually, in the same dir0 of the relative apps.
I use rootExplorer that is more efficient, or sManager that had batch linker.

Hi all, i've a phone samsung j2 prime - G532g
android version 6.0.1
kernel 3.18.19-9387420
I had just rooted this phone, and then I install link2sd, tried to mount the script, but "mount error: no such a file or directory"
but, i've solved that problem with editing init.d script and mount the script using apps2sd: root.
So now, I install link2sd again. I format sdcard into fat32 (20 gb) and ext2 (11gb). Everything goes okay, until I realize that the internal storage only 1,5 gb. Even link2sd (free version) still leave internal data on internal storage. So that, I buy link2sd pro version, in order I can link internal data.
But, after I link internal data, every apps (that internal data linked) get crashed with message "Unfortunately, <app name> has stopped” with the choice are "report" and "ok". Apps that only linked with apk, dex, and lib, are still okay.
Does anybody know why this can happen? Any marshmallows user has experience like me?
Its not the first time I use link2sd, everything did well when I tried to my another phone with a lower android version (4.4)
Hope someone can solve my problem.
Sorry for my bad english
Thanks
