Hello,
I'm trying to install TWRP on my m4 aqua. I already unlocked the bootloader and rooted it. Now im trying to install TWRP without success. With a command prompt, my devices won't be detected. And with a install.bat file nothing happens on my phone. The normal adb and fastboot drivers were successfully installed but i can't install the flashtool drivers to start the fastboot mode. Also with the Volume - button the phone boots normaly. So im now trying it with this TWRP app from the teamw.in (can't post the link) website with the modell xperia m but im not sure if it works. Can someone help me ?

Lollipop or Marshmallow? Why can't you intall the drivers from flashtool? It boots normally probably because of missing the drivers. And to enter fastboot, you need to hold Volume UP and then connect the USB. If your BL is unlocked, then you can easily flash the TWRP through fastboot mode. In Command p. Fastboot flash recovery "recovery name".img usually it's recovery.img . But without the correct drivers, your phone will not be recognized properly.

I'm using Lollipop 5.0 on my phone. When i'm trying to install the drivers i always get that error: installation failed. Ahhh Thanks its Volume UP. But after this the led lights blue and then comes the charge indicator. Is it normal ?
I now installed TWRP with a bat file. But with Volume UP and usb cable I don't come in the Menu. And with Volume UP and Power the phone just vibrate a few times.

Hi!
I've been trying to flash my Xperia Mini with Cyanogenmod 9, but I'm stuck at step 6 under Flashing CyanogenMod in the Xperia Mini full guide. (Would post link, but as I do not have 10 posts, I can't. :crying: )
I've followed through the entire guide, successfully unlocked the bootloader and so on. However, after step 5 (Volume up + connect to computer = blue LED, which should be correct according to the guide), the device will not appear in command prompt after typing "adb devices". However, it appears whenever the phone is on and connected to the PC (with USB debugging enabled).
I have tried everything from reinstalling drivers (from the official Sony website, Google USB drivers, the ones that are mentioned in the guide for use with CM flashing, etc.) to the whole process of reinstalling the Android SDK. I have tried googling around with no luck, despite finding tonnes of threads with people having the same problem. Anyone know what might be the problem?
Download Flashtool and connect the device in Fastboot mode (volume up while connecting usb). What happens? Flashtool reports a device in fastboot mode?

It appears in DooMLoRD's "Get Device Info" for some reason. What should I do here? Proceed to flash using Flashtool through "Select kernel to Flash"?
*EDIT*
I got things working! Installed it through recovery and everything is working fine! Thanks!
Hi,
I'm trying to root my xperia m4 aqua E2303 which is running android 5.0, and managed to:
-unlock bootloader (then reboot)
-install ( I think ) TWRP (then reboot)
I then flashed the boot.img from this tutorial which I now understand is for 6.0 and not 5.0.
when I rebooted, the phone went into the boot animation (the blue waves thing) and got stuck there for 2 hours until I unplugged it for it to run out of battery and shut down.
when it is in such state, I can see it connected to the PC with
Code:
adb devices
although it is not authorised.
I am also able to enter fastboot but I have no idea what to do from here.
when in fastboot,
Code:
fastboot devices
tells me it is correctly connected and I am able to send commands such as
Code:
fastboot reboot
I have tried to enter TWRP by pressing volume down, but maybe i'm doing it wrong, because I haven't succeeded.
please help.
thanks.
fastboot reboot recovery
You Flash MM Kernel in LP And Finally bootloop. Flash LP Kernel with Flashtools.
So I want access the TWRP through fastboot command( since volume up + power botton wont work) but it's not reconizing the device.
I have USB debug on and I don't know if i have OEM unlock mode on because I can't find it in the developer tab.
I only want to root the device so I can install the google cam.
Any suggestions ?

RR should also have advanced reboot in developer options. You can than simply reboot into recovery.

Thanks for the reply.
The problem is that I have no way of reaching TWRP , If I do the Power+ volume up I will go to the MI-recovery 3.0.
What I do is, I restart the phone and only hold down the volume up button after the screen goes black. That always gets me into TWRP. But I usually use the advanced power menu because that's way easier.
Fixed the fastboot not get recognized on my computer.
I had to disable driver signature verification. Then I installed the proper TWRP version. Now the Volume up + power goes strait to the TWRP.
I am just posting here someone might find useful.
ty all for the help.

Did you forget to boot into your recovery.img after flashing TWRP via fastboot? "fastboot boot recovery.img". A lot of guides stupidly leave that out.

No my problem was that I could not even call fastboot through console because my computer wont recognize the device. If i called "fastboot devices" on the console it would not show any answer. Disabling driver signature verification made my computer recognize the smartphone usb , so all the fastboot commands worked as intended again .
You have driver problems, donwload the latest adb or install a virtual machine with Ubuntu or Debian, after that install android-tools-adb and android-tools-fastboot. Then connect your phone to the virtual machine and access adb from there.
What has happend with fastboot? I have a rooted phone with twrp 3.3.1.0.
I have used fastboot commands to flash boot.img and recovery.img for years.
Suddenly out of the blue i can´t connect with the phone in fastboot mode. I have tried everything, all kind of different windows drivers, emma, flashtool, drivers from sony, latest driver form google. but i cant get my phone to show up as a device in fastboot mode using fastboot commands. Are there something that has changed lately?
I can connect in flash mode and adb commands works normal.
Usb debugging are on, and I have tried to boot pc without driver signature check.
I have read topics for several days googling and I simply cant get it to work in fastboot.
Please help.

Works like a charme..... Thanks:good:
Hello i wanted to ask about this since i dont see any other thread related to my issue, im trying to install magisk root and im at the stage of accessing fastboot/bootloader, when i go to recovery mode and select "reboot to bootloader" it just restarts the phone, i have tried adb commands didnt work either, same result, just restarts. The "unlock oem" option under developer options is enabled, i could flash another firmware of the same phone with SPD upgrade tool and its still not letting me get into bootloader, (to do this i must press down vol down and connect the usb while the program is on, and it is detected, otherwise it just restarts adb and fastboot tools will not detect it as download mode) any idea or suggestions on how I could root the phone, been thinking about twrp but not sure it would let me install that, looked into many pages about rooting this device and none show anything related maybe its not possible, i saw there are phones with blocked bootloader. the phone is android 9
Have you tried to
- flash the boot.img from the stockfirmware;
- install a recovery (twrp, orangefox, etc.) and rebooted to fastboot from recovery?

Have you tried the method in the following page?
Hold volume up & power buttons. Otherwise, try volume down & power buttons.
