Completely Reset Samsung Tab A 9.7" (SM-T350) - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was messing around with trying to root my tablet and I seem to have gotten in a state I have not been able to figure out how to recover from. Starting the device now just opens the recovery screen with the message (at the bottom of the screen): "E: failed to mount /system (Invalid argument)" Factory reset doesn't work and I have tried using odin to flash the stock recovery for my device listed here.
I have been trying to find the stock firmware from other sites, but I have been unable to find a download link that isn't throttled (as in it takes less than 9 hours to download). I will try one of those site tonight, but I thought I would try asking about it here first.
I have tried using smart switch/KIES from here to no avail.
As state above I have tried using odin to flash the "stock" file listed here (but I am not use if that is the right file I need to flash).
I don't case about any of the files on the device because it is pretty much brand new.
I just want to reset it completely to a working version of Android. Let me know if I need to include more information.

I was eventually able to figure it out. The key is finding the right ROM, and it turned out that the download from the site with the incredibly throttled download speed (took like 3 hours for 1 gig) worked. If anyone is interested, I will stay subscribed to this post and send it to you so you don't have to go through the same headache. OR if someone knows a good/hassle free place to upload these types of files where the download isn't throttled, I'd be happy to post it there
Finally, if anyone comes across with the same problem, I can try my best to type up a more detailed post of what I went through to finally get the solution.

[Q] ADBD file is missing and I'm unable to add it back in

I am sure by now you have caught some of my posts floating around the forum in a near panic with confusion. Here are the steps I have taken followed by the issue I am dealing with. I understand I may have taken these steps out of order and am very interested in getting some detailed help on how to fix the issue I am in.
Starting with a fresh stock Atrix I..
Step 1 - Ran Adeo for version 0.1 I downloaded all of the drivers correctly from the MobileTech video website however I honestly don't know what this even means.
Step 2 - Rooted using Super Once click.
Step 3 - I tried to install the Gingerbread theme but after much frustration and many failed attempts I found out I suffer from the missing ADBD file.. I read the thread and it said to download the file unzip it and add it to SBIN.. I have done this countless times and my phone is still unreadable but AROOT, Super once click and Adeo installer..
Rebooting removes the file as mentioned in that thread but I can never actually get anything to recognize my device while the file is in there.
I am set to USB connection NONE and using the Debugging setting in the ON position.
At this point I want to start all over.. Completely go back to stock and then try again, maybe not even that.. I am very turned off of this experience and am starting to get worried considering the investment in this phone I have. (Full Retail)
I understand many people on this forum are not only busy but do no suffer from this problem but I have also seen some incredible help given so as always anyone who is willing to help me just know it will be very appreciated. Thanks!

At a glance I would try looking into the adb offline issue [fixed] thread in this section. though thats from the glance over what you seem to behaving and use aroot, superoneclick is sai by some devs to make a mess of things.
Sadly this is my actual problem. I do suffer from the missing ADBD file however unlike others in that thread I am unable to get anything to work after adding the file back in.
Someone has to have a solution to this. I know my OP is long but I'm at a loss here.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
At this point I would be willing to make a hefty donation to a devs paypal to help solve my issue.
Would anyone at least be able to offer advice on what to do from this point forward? Thanks

[SOLVED][Q][ICS] Need help with recovery install on YourPad P4

EDIT: Well I managed to get clockworkmod installed and everything; still having some issues with aspects of it, but in general I'm good. I'll probably make a dedicated thread to the device; if anyone wants to suggest a proper forum section, be my guest.
Ok, so I need some assistance on installing CWM or another recovery mode on my YourPad P4. I've already rooted and installed ROM Manager, but it could not find a compatible CWM version.
Now, first off I have also been unable to get an exact or better identification of this tablet other than it being sold as a "YourPad P4" and that it's model is MID; so I might also need help getting more details to better assist the finding of a compatible or working recovery.
Here is some information about it...
* Site purchased from/detail page:
http://www.yourstoreonline.net/yourpad_p4_new_android_40/id2040716/product.html
Don't worry, I got it for ~$100 (with the 1GB RAM upgrade), not the displayed price on the site!
* About tablet page info:
Model number: MID
Android version: 4.0.3
Kernel version: 3.0.8
[email protected] #2
Build number: 20120807-A721
Also, before I start messing with it I was going to make a nandroid backup to share for others...does nandroid backup firmware as well? I've never needed to restore a backup so I have no idea what goes into it and can't find a quick answer. I'd like to make a backup of a clean as possible system to share for anyone wanting it. Although I'm surprised that its not been mentioned on xda, I'd expect this tablet to have at least been asked about once considering it was mentioned on woot.
Thanks to anyone for any help, and I apologize if this should be in a different section. If so, could a mod please move it before any fuss is made.
And now, I'm off to bed (so I won't be responding/checking this for a few hours).
Not to sure about the rules for thread bumping, but I just wanna make sure this gets seen soon (as I'll be very busy and it will be hard to work on it next week and the the days that follow).
Also I thought it was worth mentioning now that only really mentions of this tablet I can find are in posts by me, ahahahahaha
EDIT: Oh, and I havn't verified I even have a recovery partition yet as I can't cat /proc/mtd
it's been about a week now and no response; I even posted it over here http://www.androidtablets.net/forum...cs-need-help-recovery-install-yourpad-p4.html
so bumping, if anyone at the very least knows some mystical other worldly site that somehow manages the chance of providing me an answer over the ever amazing xda; please post

Thanks alot for this, I'll definitely read it over a few times before attempting. Hopefully this will work out. Thread is still open for any other input, so anyone else coming here that can provide any additional help go ahead and post.
Well I still have been unable to get a recovery option going. I tried the link mentioned by AJ88 and it didn't work for me. Essentially the link boiled down to 2 simple adb commands and a custom recovery.img. First step was to "adb push recovery.img /data/", but I ran into a permission denied issue and could not figure out a way around it (didn't want to mess with chmod, but I did run the "fix permissions" script in the clockworkmod rom manager. So instead I just pushed the recovery.img to my sdcard. Next step was "adb shell "cat /data/recovery.img > /dev/block/nandg; sync""; so instead I went "adb shell" then su to make sure I didn't get any more issues, then just "cat /sdcard/recovery.img > /dev/block/nandg; sync". Rebooted and tried all combinations of key pressings to access recovery with no luck (even tried via adb). So any ideas on my next course of action?
youtPad P4 issues
Dear EarthBoundX5,
Please do not feel alone in what I might be perceiving as "buyer's remorse" as I also own this device and have begun to have issues with it functionality. Initially I was attracted to this device for what seemed a myriad of available functions and abilities, however I'm really starting to believe the old saying, "you get what you pay for".
My main issue at this point is when using the free Kindle app, after selecting my book, the screen goes completely blank and does NOT come back with the reading material I've selected. If I touch the back button, I get a brief flash of the screen showing the page that I'm on in the book, but after that nothing. I've tried rebooting the machine, currently trying a fresh install of the Kindle app, we'll see how that goes TODAY.
I also have another off-brand tablet, iBridge, which was purchased during the frustration period of waiting for YourStore . com to get their act together and send me the YourPad. Funniest part about it though is that the iBridge comes with a booklet thats 4x the size of the poorly written "booklet" that the YourPad people put out.
I'm sorry that I don't have a solution for your problem as I'm a complete newb with the tablet world, but wanted to at least touch base with you to let you know "you are not alone. I am here with you...." LOL
Found you with a google search for online help regarding YourPad, and it brought me to you, and this seems like the most helpful place I might have found in reference to oddball tablet issues. Take care, have a good day. and I'll check back in to notify regarding Kindle reinstall.
Well I've been waiting for a reply to either of my threads with no luck, so today I figured I'd just try again the method of manually setting up a recovery, and this time I just decided to try and hold every button I could while powering and and BAM RECOVERY MODE *****ES!!!!!! So guess either I must've just screwed up last time or something. Anyways, I'll edit the OP to reflect all this later...maybe start a dedicated thread with any quirks I figure out down the line using this tablet; and of course post my nandroid backup. When I setup my 2nd YourPad, I'll make sure to make backups of any files I may have had to change (ie, nandg, etc). The question is, what section would such a thread belong?

I don't feel any buyer's remorse...yet at least, haha. If I end up having the same issues as you, maybe I'll change my mind; but I really don't see much wrong yet with this tablet. I mean, obviously its cheap and all, but for the poor man its fantastic. But ya, I HATE the YourStore, they took FOREVER to ship out the tablets. Anyways, for people like you, it really makes me thing I should take point on this tablet and start a dedicated thread.

[Q] Samsung S4 I9502 root / flash failed - NEED HELP

Hey Guys,
I tried to root my Samsung S4 GT-I9502 (OS Android 4.3), for that I found this website:
http://marrkdaviid.com/2013/08/fix-caller-id-install-google-play-on-the-galaxy-s4-i9502/
But it failed (more information below) and I had the following error message and no wifi.
I am able to put the device into download mode, though I keep getting this error message when I try flashing the device in Odin.
(here someone with a similar problem: http://androidforums.com/international-galaxy-s4-all-things-root/768632-sos-cannot-open-gt-i9502-after-failed-boot.html)
"Complete(Write) operation failed."
When attempting to flash the device, it quickly goes through boot.img, recovery.img and system.img (when it should take longer for each step, and you should see the little green progress bar move), before failing. Does this mean that Odin is having issues writing to the device?
I live in China and I just bought the phone, I needed 5 days to download the necessary files, because most download pages are blocked in China. So I am loosing my last nerve right now.
I am pretty confident that I have the correct Samsung drivers installed. I don’t have Samsung Kies installed. I have even tried using a different computer (Laptops), and two different ROMs.
I have tried flashing the below ROMs:
I9502ZNUCMG2_I9502CHUCMG2_I9502ZNUCMG2_HOME.tar.md5
I9502ZNUEMK3_I9502CHUEMK3_I9502ZNUEMK3_SVA.tar.md5
Someone with a the same problem tried the 'Firmware upgrade and initialization' option in Samsung Kies, but it didn’t work, so I didn’t try. (Here the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2382979)
Instead I tried a recovery. I used Odin 3.07 and the following file:
i9502-cwm-recovery.tar.md5
I got my phone back to work for a while, I reset the phone, just in case. But know I can’t switch the Wifi on and the phone wants to Reboot.
So I allowed the phone to Reboot, I clicked on “reboot system now” and then on “Yes – (I forgot what was written behind the Yes, but I didn’t just click on the normal Yes, I clicked on the Yes - …)
The problem here: The Phone changed to a China Unicom Screen and stayed like that. After 5 h I took the battery out, but I couldn’t restart the phone.
So I did an cwm recovery and know I am afraid to reboot. The Wifi is not working and I can’t find any information about how to fix it.
So please help me. Do I reboot? Can I already install SVA ROM, although I couldn’t flash the Stock Firmware? Do I send the phone back and give up?
Please let me know if you need any other information to be able to help me.
PS: This is the first time that I flash a smart phone. And although I already spent several days now, searching the internet for how-to-dos, tips & tricks, guidelines, Q&As and god knows what, I still do not fully understand what exactly I am doing here. Hence, I would be very happy to receive somewhat easy understandable answers.
Thank you so much for your help!
Anna

10.1V stuck on splash screen

Hi there,
Yesterday, i charged and booted my GT-P7100 for the first time since a very long while. Everything seemed to be working, except that i got a warning that my storage was running low (even though i am sure there is more than 10gb left / i got this message twice). I put the thing away with about 90% of the battery still full, but when i woke up again, it was completely dead.
I put it on a charger and got no charging screen, etc. After a few hours, i managed to get it to start booting, but it clearly got stuck in a bootloop. I could still get into downloading mode, so i used odin to flash the stock images, but this doesn't seem to have helped at all.
Right now, i have my tab getting stuck on the splash screen (but being recognized by adb) when i boot it up the normal way. I can still reach downloading mode, but my computer does not seem to recognize it when using fastboot (otherwise, i would be able to boot a clockworkmod image).
Is there anybody who knows how to fix this or who is willing to help me find out?
Thanks in advance!

Are you sure you have the right stock ROM from sammobile.com for the 10.1v?
If you can get into dl mode, a revert to stock should usually do the trick... It's weird that it wont work. Or when you boot it up, wait a little longer, the first boot takes sometimes a while...

I couldn't even get any rom from sammobile.com, since they are all marked as unavailable when i try to download them... So in the end i found one file containing the 3 .tar.md5's, but i'm not sure if it's the right set. I let it try for about 3 hours this night, so i don't think it will get through another time.
Do you think there is any way i could get the stock files even if sammobile doesn't have them?

What do you mean with marked as unavailable? You can download them from sammobile at any time. If you're looking for mirrors, try to paste the ROM name in google and see if you can find mirrors for downloading it. If a samsung ROM is not on sammobile, it doesn't excist

I get this error: "Error ID: 2F - File not found!". It also says something about sending an e-mail to them to request the file, which i have done, but i haven't received an answer yet.
Mirrors seem to be very, very rare, as most people seemed to depend on the one at multiupload.com (which is now unavailable of course) :/

You can ask someone who has the stock ROM on it's pc, and upload it so you can get it, maybe you can make a request topic, or wait until you have an answer on your mail

I bricked my old Player YP-G70CW International Help!

Hi all. I've been reading (and not understanding) a lot of threads on here about flashing firmware to this old Galaxy player.
All I wanted to do originally was get a newer android version for the store and games for my 14 month old wee lad to play with.
Anyway after a fair bit of research I got Odin and the US version of a Rom and dove right in to upgrading and of course I made an unholy mess of it and bricked the device.
I chose the US version knowing it probably wasn't going to support the physical home button after but took the risk.
I plugged it into my windows 10 PC and went from there. So the process failed initially after a very quick scroll of information. Then I started ticking the check boxes in Odin to a point where the process took longer and seemed to be actually doing something instead of flying through and failing. Well then it seemed to be doing something so I left it for an hour or two and when I came beck it was stuck where it was, not doing anything. It was late so I unplugged and went to bed.
Now the device only displays the very commonly reported 'phone... ! ...PC' icons.
I have Odin v1.82 running right now and its detecting the player ( yellow box 0:[com8] ), then after a while the player shuts off and comes back on for Odin to detect it again.
Nothing else happens, windows won't read the device even to access as a storage device.
So I've been to step 2, which is trying to unbrick it. I don't really want to go the Ubuntu route as I know even less about Linux then Android.
Also theres the problem of trying to get the original international roms and pit and bootloader(?) files. All the links on here seem to be broken.
So does anyone have the actual files I need and maybe an idiots guide to doing the work?
All help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes I have read that on here mate, that its still in download mode, however no button combo gets it to do anything else (like trying to enter recovery mode).
Also and I guess this is the main problem, I can't find the stock files anywhere, and trust me I've been reading threads here and googling elsewhere.
The links on here all seem to be broken, which given the age of the threads is no surprise.
So I'm still kind of hopeful someone reads this and can supply the files I need.
Oh and I'm open to a non stock version as long as its for the international version (home button) and proven to be good.
I'd love to be rid of the bloatware and free to install play store etc.
