Help with LG Lucky L16C - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Good day everyone, I got a Net 10's LG L16C phone today, at first it was all good since I needed a new phone, but then I discovered this particular phone doesn't have a sim slot, which is bad since I don't like in the states so I can't use their pre-paid services, so I decided to use it for the apps and the like, I have an old galaxy 2 I777 which is still good but using the wifi and apps drain the battery fast, so it's just for calls.
Long story short, I want to install a custom ROM to the LG phone but I haven't had any luck finding any, does anyone know where I can get a ROM for this particular phone? or some way to upgrade at least to android 4.4.4? This phone is 4.4.2 by default. Thank you for your attention and a have a great day

After digging a little more.
I've been researching for the past few days to no avail, there doesn't seem to be a custom or official ROM upgrade for this particular phone, if someone knows something about it I would appreciate the help

(bump)
I don't think you'll find any. I had this phone gave to me so our team could dump the system and add it to our root/frp collection. FRP wouldnt apply to this but the one click root would. Also thought about a simple custom rom. Problem with these LG tracfone variants is you cant get into download mode. At least thats what our team has found out so far messing around with a Rebel now this Lucky. Might be a way but so far weve not totally looked into it. If you do find anything out there please share it with everyone. Im sure a lot of people with this $10 phone would be happy to have the advantages those of us with more higher end units have. I have to sell this phone after IF we get a dump. Wish me luck.

[q] verizon lg g3 help!!

Hi xda ! I'm hoping someone can help me ! I have a Verizon LG g3 I was messing with custom rooms and I flashed cyanongen lolipop and decided I didn't like,it ( I know weird) but I flashed back the the Rom I liked prior and realized my phone didn't recognize the SIM anymore. So I tried different rooms and have come to the conclusion it won't read Sims anymore. I want to unroot and go to complete stock, I have tried the different ways online and I can't find how to change port settings. If someone could assist me in either flashing back or any ideas on why it won't recognize Sims because I want to fix it that would be great! i have tried all the common sense jazz, even got verizon to try to fix it on their end but nothing will work. the steps on the help sites i find look soo simple however i always get stuck on the "change port settings" option as i can find that option in my device manager, even had a friend try on his computer he is better with me in tech and we both couldnt figure it out! i really hope someone has some tips for me because I hate to have a great phone like that sitting around !!

If you have installed the correct Verizon drivers for your vs985 then your phone should show up as a COM device under the Ports section of Device Manager in Windows, if you are in download mode.
I did the same thing last night I ended up doing a factory reset on my phone after going back to stock ROM. Made sure everything was working and then rooted again and put a custom ROM back on it and now everything works don't know if this will help you but worth a shot.
Try formatting your sim card
FIXED thanks all for the replys
I have finally fixed my lg g3 after fighting with my computer for not recognizing the drivers for tooo long
however now i have a new predicament
In the interim of having a none working lg3 phone i bought the droid trubo red version and I loved it however even its massive battery doesn't get me through the day, sometime half the day depending on what I am doing ( i am an extreme heavy user)

Seeking Stock Rom for soft bricked LG Sunset LGL33L on Straighttalk.

Seeking Stock Rom for soft bricked LG Sunset LGL33L on Straighttalk.
Hello, I need the help of xda on this one.
I installed kingroot on my LG Sunset (Lollipop) yesterday and everything was fine. Then I ran Super-Su-me and it soft bricked.
It won't get past the LG-Life's Good screen unless I leave it for 3 hours and then it moves to the Tracfone screen and stays like that.
I have searched all over for the stock rom for this phone and have not had any luck.
I am trying to use KDZ_1_4 to flash it but I need the correct .tot file and the .dll file
Can anyone help me on this one?
Thanks.
Anyone?
Tried to factory reset via stock recovery?

I have the same phone and same problem. rooted with kingroot, ran super-sume opened super su it downloaded and said it needed to reboot and in reboot it is stuck on lg screen. tried factory reset but it starts and goes back to lg screen and stays.
I'm in the exact situation as you. Have you been able to solve the issue yet?
I am pretty much having the same problem. My LG Sunset boots to the Tracfone screen and just sits there and does nothing. I cant even boot into recovery or anything.. I hope someone finds a solution to this cause I have not been able to use my phone for a few days.

Hey man, you need to get another phone asap. For tracfones, it's pretty much the end in cases like these. I actually got another exact (lgl21g) model from ebay, so that as soon as i get the time, will see how i can (if possible) get my softbricked device revived through my new one. But i have yet to research and at all costs, avoid softbricking my new one. As for now, no one else has any idea for a solution.
It kinda blows me away to know that the android community is completely oblivious to these kinds of recent low end, but useful android devices coming out on the straight talk service. For affordable androids, they're kinda neat. But it sucks that Tracfone has completely annihilated the essential utilities that such devices need in order to be revived by the user. I mean an actual bootloader menu to do modding and fixing through. The recovery option on these devices are pretty much useless.
But if you can. you should reply with a description that tells how your device was soft-bricked. As in, "did you use kingroot then Super SUME, which caused your device to freeze on LGs boot logo screen"? If so, then you are one of the many out there who xda needs to listen to, and heavily, i mean HEAVILY REGULATE these eff-ers [http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/paid-software/supersu-please-t3110954]. Because they need to specifically do more research into why their S~H~I~T~T~Y app is... well, S~H~I~T~T~Y! There are people out there promoting this app as though it is absolutely flawless and works on any android, but such a claim is far away from the truth, and these crap-app makers are only breeding more effing lying trolls. And sadly XDA mostly supports those big thugs with flagship phones problems ONLY. Not the little people like us, we're kinda on our own. SuperSUME is not supposed to force anything on the phone if it's not compatible, working something like kingroot if not being able to find a root method, then just telling the user it failed. Instead SuperSUME does something that effs it all up. Which is pretty much worse than malicious s/ware by itself.
So just hang on to your broken fone for now since it's not completely lost. Though you can take it into walmart and see if you can get a replacement, but I cannot promise you that i could come up with a solution, since I'm learning this crap from scratch as well. The only lead i have for now is to "Flash the device with it's firmware", which we know tracfone isn't gonna just hand out like free air. Sadly i'll have to reach out to XDA developers to help me once i describe this issue and experiment with whatever software out there that can help, if god willing.
FYI I just saw your post and Straight Talk sent me a new phone lol. Of course I didn't mention that I was trying to root it. The problem was actually McAfee Security. I didn't think about switching the setting off that locks the phone down if it's rooted. I made sure I did that on the new one and KingRoot worked just fine. ?

Zenpad P008 Verizon LTE ZT581KL Rooting method?

I cannot even find any information on this device let alone a root method. Apparently from my searches methods for the zenphone may work but im not sure if I want to risk bricking this device, but verizon would just replace it anyway. I guess its fairly new? It came with MM and already has an OTA which i keep putting off while I am going to try out various methods to get this one rooted and unleashed since one verizon store essentially scammed me over my new s7 edge so another store refunded everything for me. Now I got this 4g tablet I want to fasten in my car and it would be nice to root or unlock and put some custom vehicle firmware on it or something like that.
I have the same issue with my new Zenpad 3 8.0 . KingRoot and some other rooting apps didn't work for me.
At least someone finally replies.... I am still stuck trying to root this thing. I've tried nearly everything to no success. Even the temporary cwm wouldn't work for me
Same here buddy. Why did ASUS remove such features as App to SD and multi user support?
Anyone found anything? I have the tablet too...
Well damn this sux, Verizon stuck me with another unrootable device, at least I can say I got my pixel in time to unlock the bootloader and route it but not much activity for it since decided to lock them down. I thought I learned with my G4 that's why I got the pixel got home just to find out they're going to be locked down too lol Oh God how I loath Verizon

I hear ya. I have this tablet too: Asus Verizon Zenpad Z8 ZT581KL with V.3.4.23. Despite my best efforts, the damn system update notification keeps coming up telling me to update to Android 7--which I DO NOT want to do since doing that very well could kill any small hope I have on rooting the device. Since this is a Verizon branded tablet, they made an agreement with Asus to lock it down like Gitmo, so any official bootloader unlocker will not work with Verizon. Maybe one day when Verizon get's their head out of their ass and understands that people have the right to screw with their phones, they will allow unlocking options--though I doubt it.
This would be a great little tablet, if Verizon gave us more control over it--Jesus Christ, you're still getting $$ from me on your non-unlimited data. Bunch of ****-tards---I used to work for them back in the day at one of their corporate locations in Folsom, CA. Sadly, I think it's that prison mentality (Folsom Prison) that must have been carried in the air a few miles to the Verizon offices there. That was WDTS (Wireless Data Tech Support)....I was there right when EVDO just came out/expanding (Before Iphones...closest thing would have been a BES-Enabled Blackberry, or a fancy PDA)--oh those were the days...
There are rooting options available if you understand Chinese--but even its for older software versions 3.3.x, etc, and from what I can understand, the flash might actually take (hackers take note: if the flash can take..maybe we can piece together a flash with proper rooted versions)...but since this is a Sim/LTE tablet by doing that it will screw up the radio (Cellular) and recovery partitions. But maybe something round-about could be done that does that, then reflashes modified signed firmware to root it--I dunno.
My google-fu is pretty good and I came across some cached, or snippet that said SRSroot might root 6.0.1 on the ZT581KL, but not sure now legit it is.
Unless more people get this tablet/devs play with it, I don't think we will get root/bootloader/recovery anytime soon. I wish I lived in a country that allowed multiple wifes, because I would do a bounty for root on this devices and give away one of my wives for payment.
I used the tablet mostly for navigation, but I want root/twrp for backup purposes, if I need to wipe the device crossing the border since police now wanting to look at peoples phones/tablets. I love using Waze since I'll be driving down the road with a FAT blunt smoking away, so it's good to know if cops are around.
Zenpad z8 running on Fi
I also have this pad. I bought it from Verizon because it's USB-C and I loathe micro USB and even more so because the helpful sales guy at Verizon let me try my Google Fi data only sim...and sure enough it works awesome after setting h2g2 as the apn. Would love to root it though I hate how I can only have one user account on this for now.
Kind of off-topic, but I can't find any clear answer to my question about the Z8 and Z8s. I'm considering buying one, but I do not want a data-plan. Do these tablets work without a SIM in them, or will I be stuck at a home screen that says "Insert SIM..."?

Of course you can use it without a SIM.
I just ordered this tablet. I'm sad I can't root it, but I mainly use root for adblocking. I will have to use DNS66 or BlockThis instead.

Zenpad P008 Verizon root - no luck
I just tried One Click Root and that didn't work either. Upon chatting with support they were stymied by the lack of an 'OEM Override' debug mode setting.
Can anybody help, I'm new at this stuff. Plus I'm teaching myself. I've rooted some devices. Did some firmware jobs, kinda' familiar with Odin. But I've tried everything from KingRoot PC to adb tryna' root this thing (P008). Between this thing and that Knox MDM shizzle. Man!, Anybody got anything on these topics......
Anyone try Magisk?? I also want to root this thing. Cannot get a usb gaming controller to recognize either.

Wanting to purchase a lg g3... Have some questions

So the only/main reason I want the phone is to be able to root, I been stuck with this galaxy s6 that cant be for over a year.. Every phone I have every had since the eris has been rooted.
I am getting extremely confused with what I am reading.
So the newer lg g3 cant be rooted or downgraded? Any sources for the older lg g3s that can be?
Was looking on ebay but every single phone has k in the model number in description...
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I guess one thing that would really help my search is to figure out when the K versions were released.... Anyone know ?
Thanks

I hate to say it, but the model K can only be rooted, from what I've read, by Kingroot. And that's a temporary root. When you reboot, you'll have to root again.
Because there is no way to downgrade to anything prior to Marshmallow (due to a firmware change apparently hence the K model number), you cannot use 10b tot, etc to downgrade.
Also, since this phone is 2 years old, no one is actively looking for an exploit on this. It isn't really worth it unfortunately, but that's how it is with all phones. Eventually, people move on from them because they are old. I will say this, I've been running on stock, unrooted for about a year now and it works just fine. I do run Greenify (I have the donated version), and it definitely also helps with battery life. So, even unrooted stock is pretty good on this phone. I've uninstalled as much of the bloatware (mostly the games) as possible. And for those applications that I cannot uninstall, I've disabled them where possible which can be done in the app manager.
But model K phones do not have the ability to be downgraded. There isn't anyway around this that I know of and believe me, people have tried.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...ne-pcb-version-downgrade-marshmellow-t3430985
The details of the phone might just be the auto generated stuff ebay puts on there. I would ask the seller to look at the actual label under the battery. You could try swappa too, i just got a good Note 4 from a seller on there. Ebay is hard to dig through and find something good, lots of refurbished phones being sold as "new".
Thanks peeps learned some info I did not know.
I guess I am looking for root and recovery.(Mostly development stuff/being able to install roms) I am staying far away from the K version.
I been messaging people on ebay for the past 2 days.. 40 messages 5 replies :/
Ended up finding 2 without the k

Hey![emoji1] The Eris was my first Android phone!

I feel like an idiot buying the SM-A215U :(

Without paying attention (because I had just broke my Galaxy S20-5G) I got a Galaxy A21 for cheap. I should have done the research but I honestly wasn't thinking. I didn't know this A21 would be stuck on Android 10. It's running the A215U1 stock rom build because I use Straight Talk, and I thought the latest stock rom for it would at least be Android 11, but it's not. I think I've gotten so used to Android 11 that being stuck on Android 10 is just really messing with my user experience.
So my question is, since Samsung doesn't seem to be releasing Android 11 for the A215U1 build, are there any custom roms with Android 11 floating around for it? I have a feeling that it's unlikely because when I finally decided to research it I've found pretty much nothing. But I figured I would come here to talk to the pros on XDA, because you guys pretty much know everything there is to know collectively.
If not, I was also given an FRP locked SM-A125 from a Telecomm friend who doesn't run any kind of MobileIron or MS InTune to be able to unlock old phones that employees turn in. The company doesn't want to invest in it, which just seems ridiculous, right?
The employee factory reset it without removing their Google account, and claims they don't remember the account email and password they created specifically for it. So the company literally just throws them away rather than deal with the process of sending them into Samsung with the proof of purchase to get them unlocked.
I've tried so hard to flash the right customization file on it to get to that service screen that allows you to remove the FRP lock, but I've been unable. I managed to do it once before for an S8+ that he gave me a couple years ago, but honestly I was trying so many different things that I can't even remember how I managed to do it. I'd at least like to have the A12 with Android 11 to use in the meantime, until (hopefully) Samsung releases Android 11 for the SM-A215U1.
It's only the screen broken on my Galaxy S21 5G, so as soon as I can get an extra $250 together I think I'll send it in to have it repaired. I just hope when I dropped it that something more than the screen didn't break internally. Anyways, even if you guys can't help, thanks for everything you all do here. Have a great weekend everybody.

I don't know much about the A21s, but I remember being able to upgrade my Samsung S4 to Android 9 back when I still had it. In all likelihood: Absolutely, you can upgrade your Samsung A21s to Android 11 - and probably even 12 with zero issues.
First two ROMs here seem to yield the results that you're looking for:
Samsung Galaxy A21s ROMs, Kernels, Recoveries, & O
Improve your Samsung Galaxy A21s's battery life, performance, and look by rooting it and installing a custom ROM, kernel, and more.

I have a SM-a215u that was frp locked. I spent 2 days trying various fixes, pulling my hair out, and this was only effective solution...
I wouldn't worry so much about it. Android 10 is very good as is, Android 11 doesn't really add that much except for google trying to further lock things down and make life harder for running custom things, if I had this phone I'd just be on the look out for a solid custom Rom, something like LineageOS or based off.
I own a different phone, which had Android 10 and eventually got 11, but after trying 11, I much prefered to stick to my custom Android 10 rom.
I want some option to. The A21 is really bloated. I tried to remove stuff manually, but there a lot and there was not much change. I would like to try to install plain android, but even enabling EOM is tricky. and root to...
