Hi,
I have been trying to downgrade my Xperia Z2 (D6503) from android 6.0.1 to 5.0.2 and even 4.4.4 in order to root it, however everytime I flash the previous firmwares, the device gets stuck in a bootloop.
Does anybody know how to avoid this problem?
You need to wipe data after downgrade. Otherwise device will bootloop.
So first backup the data and then you can flash 4.4.2 Kitkat firmware using flashtool with wipe.
use Flashtool

Well, i'm new in this android/root stuff, but to have something to begin with:
I tried rooting my device(i9505) in 4.3(using that "knox-untouching" way) and, it not only didn't worked (can't use SuperSU), it also installed a custom recovery on my device (triggering everything it could) and know i can't OTA.
So I was thinking, can I just download the OTA and install it over ODIN, then wipe data? Or i have to download 4.3, flash it over, wipe, and than install 4.4.2? (For the record, i can't find my 4.3 ZTO version. Even in sam mobile)
Hi,
I've previously rooted my tablet and recently unrooted and factory reset. I was excited to see that Sony are finally pushing out a Marshmallow update and tried to do the update, but when the tablet resets during the update installation it keeps just going to TWRP recovery page.
So - I have a feeling the tablet wants to get to its stock recovery as part of the install, but I don't know how to revert from TWRP back to whatever the Xperia z2 tablet stock recovery is... I guess I don't have any idea whether that's even the problem.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks.
You would have to flash a stock FTF with flash tool. Easier solution though, download one of the pre rooted MM ROMs from the General section and just flash it with TWRP. Then you can have rooted MM.
Sent from my Nexus 6P using XDA-Developers mobile app
device: Xperia Z2 d6503 23.4.a.1.264 stock rom rooted and recovery
what I want: install .570 rom without flashing (cause it wipes everything and I don't want to re install all the apps)
my phone notified me about an ota update (to .570) and when I tried to update, it re booted, started updating and then it failed and the phone re booted to recovery. after that I found out that the recovery or the root could be the problem so I removed them, and tried again to update but it failed (exactly the same as before). I tried to update many times, but it failed every time. then I connected it to pc (thinking that I could update it with pc companion or xperia companion), but it showed the next update, the 23.5.a.1.291 and not the .570, what I wanted.
I also tought about trying to update with supersu pro survival mode (because it can keep root across updates), so someone could confirm that if it works?
Flash a pre rooted zip of 575 you won't loose any apps

You'll only lose the mods that you install or anything you did on your ROM
well i flashed the unoffical version of cyanogenmod 13 and all it did was drain my battery. So now i want to reflash stock rom and have no idea how.I tried using flashtool with various ftf files for the m4 aqua but am still unable to do it. Im rooted and bootloader unlocked please help
Use flashtool and any stock ftf. If flashtool fails flash some partitions- flash system only, then data partition.

The problem is that whenever I try to update twrp to 3.02 the device dies and does not turn on or in recovery mode it enters, with that I can not install any Custom Rom.
I install Stock rom 5.1.1 which I found, then I do Root, then I install Twrp 2.8.7, but when I install 3.0.2 the device dies ..
Why you don't install stock 6.0.1 with flashtool .
