This is a thread ONLY for Non Full Screen Tempered glass screen protectors. We all realize they will not protect the entire screen but still give adequate protection but feel.like a naked screen. For the reasons below I started this thread.
It doesn't seem possible that any company can produce a curved full screen protector that doesn't have any or all of the following: halo effects, touch screen issues, lifting with a case, loss of touch sensitivity, glass clicking when typing etc.
Please provide a review on installation, how it fits, fingerprint resistance, typing sensitivity, sun/light glare, is touch sensitivity good at the edge of the glass, etc for your NON full screen Tempered Glass screen protectors Only.

Which is better for a screen protector? tempered glass or film screen protector. I think the Tempered glass is more better since it would better protect the screen from scratches and excessive pressure but i don't know if it would also protect the screen from small dust and sands , since i don't use a tempered glass yet and thinking on getting one, i don't know is there is space between the screen and the Tglass for dust and sands to enter. Anyone here using a tglass protector? does it have any enter points for dust and sand to enter?
Plenty of reviews in the accessories thread, not many favorable things said about tempered glass ones though
Hi, just looking for a matte screen protector that covers as much as the screen as possible (without peeling at the sides) and does not cover the sensors at the top as it messes with the auto-brightness on my phone. thanks
When I bought my XZU I immediately put on a tempered glass screen protector. Even before I touched the screen.
But I've noticed that compared to my old Note 4 I sometimes need to touch my XZU more firmly.
Is this down to the tempered glass screen protector AND the existing plastic one?
Or is it a general problem? Is it worth removing the plastic screen protector?
Does it have Gorilla glass or other screen protection?
Nope. None.
Tempered glass is a good choice for this one, because the frame sticks out a bit, and the tempered glass gives it a tad of a 2.5D feel.
Also, with reports of the screen being too sensitive, tempered glass might help with that a bit.
I just got my Mate 20 Pro. When I opened the sealed box, there was no protective film on the screen. But I noticed that even after using it for the past 2 hours, there are no fingerprints or smudges on the screen. It looks pristine. So what's the deal here? There's a special oleophobic coating on the screen? Doesn't it require a screen protector? Or is there a screen protector already fixed (I couldn't identify any protector edge).. Confused
My phones (the original and replacement for green screen ?) both didn't have a film in the screen, just the back and both were in sealed boxes
So do we need a screen protector for this mob or not?

All unboxing's that i've seen/read don't have a screen protector so that's normal.
Huawei say is scratch resistant glass but a few people have reported minor scratches very quickly.
Screen protector is a must I think but finding one that's compatible with the onscreen fingerprint reader AND a good sticky fit is proving difficult... keep an eye on the Screen Protector thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-20-pro/accessories/screen-protectors-t3856858
