Hello Folks,
I'm not sure it is the best forum for my question but it is a start.
Well, I'm in charge of bring up Android on a new hard (actually old) it is a ARM 7 600 MHz with 256 MB RAM (possibly 512 MB RAM), 256 MB NAND, and 240x230 color screen.
It is not a phone. It is a device running a specific POS solution.
I would like to know a suitable Android version to use. Is it possible to run Android 6.0 and still have good/smooth user experience. I think Android 4.4 is my second option, If I have to downgrade to 2.3 I will be forced to upgrade my hardware.
What would be the best Android to port. Android OS? Cyanogen? Other mods? Which one? (I need security). Is there any license/legal issues using such distribution on my product ?
TIA,
Edgard

Hi !
I think i am close using Chuwi Hi8 Pro or Cube iWorks 10 System.
But my efforts have been stopped as i was stupid enough to flash the newest FW that DISABLES booting Android.
Can someone answer here who has NOT flashed the new Firmware.
I need someone with this version:
BIOS: American Megatrends / Aptio, Core Version 5.011, Project BW3_VT4_C.10E
OR very similar. NOT the 109 version / BT4 found on the Trekstor page !
If you got it i have the tool to back it up to a file and THEN i guess we can make Android work.

Edit: got the file but something is wrong, have a Brick now
Hi all,
I have a SANTOK \ Tecmobile Titan 600 phone of which I am actually quite content. The biggest problem is that it came with Android 4.2.1, which is quite old and... a lot of apps are not compatible with it. I have already searched a lot for a custom ROM but haven't found a directly matched one. I presume it is compatible with some, but since I cannot be sure, I think its better to ask.
Do you have any ideea of what custom ROM, based on a newer Android version, is a match for this phone?
Phone details can be found here: gsmarc.com/tecmobile/titan-600 (sorry, cannot post links yet).
OS Version: Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, (Version 4.2.1)
Chipset:MediaTek, MTK6589M
Processor:Quad Core Processor
Processor Speed:1.2 GHz
GPU:Yes
Internal Memory:4 GB
RAM Size:1 GB
Memory Card Slot:MicroSD
Memory Support:Upto 32 GB

Thank you very much for your help.
I have a still reasonable 1,5 Ghz quad-core device with 1 Gb RAM and 32Gb internal memory that is stuck with Android 4.2.2. There are some apps (nothing CPU intensive) that I cannot install anymore because they require newer Android versions.
Is there any way I can emulate a newer android version?
Some virtualization app like Parallel Spaces but that allows me to virtualize a separate android version instead of just cloning the current one?
Hi! Can you send me theJelly bean 4.2 update and mcu files please?

It is unlikely to work without knowing your model. But for my BQ with mediatek MT6589 Turbo this is the firmware link: https://s3.amazonaws.com/tabletfirm..._Elcano2_QuadCore_1.0.0_20131219-15.50-FW.zip
As alternative, download this custom rom: http://droidcustom.blogspot.com/2015/10/romofficial442-mystic-os-for.html
Got my hands on this device and would love to gift it to my mom but currently it has a really bad software with no native language which is a must. Since its a spare device I have laying around now I thought I could experiment on it and see if I could get a Lineage OS running on it. She is only gonna use the dialer, messages and possibly the camera so Play store and other apps are not needed.
I have some experience in modding and flashing but i've never ported a rom or created a rom for that matter so this will perhaps be my 1st one.
I've read through tutorials and all but feels quite overwhelming (maybe i'm reading at the wrong places or misinterpreting) but i'm hoping to fill that gap.
So the questions I have, is it possible to flash firmware from a similar phone with some minor changes and hope it'll work or is my only route to extract firmware blobs from phone and use that to create a LineageOS of the same android version with all the other steps required?
Phone has
CPU SD425 Cortex-A53 1400MHz (MSM8917)
GPU Adreno 308 500MHz
RAM 2GB LPDDR3 667MHz
16GB Storage + sdcard reader
TFT Screen 480x800
Android 6 is current version (Marshmallow)

I found this: https://samsung.officialsforums.com/custom-rom-samsung-galaxy-folder-2-lineageos-14-nougat/ but the download links arent working.
Dear Support,
I am new user in our forum, I don’t have any information about Android OS. I can Reset system, but I never try to flash, unlock Android OS.
Few years ago, I bought ZaapTV(Attention to buy it ), now if you don’t pay you can not see nothing on Tv.
When I turn ON the Box, I see only ZaapTV logo, after that, they ask me to activate my Box by paying 90$ every year.
When system boot, I see [ Starting Device. RK3066 4.2.2 ]
My question: Can i install any Standard Android version 4.2.2 or other in this Device with RockChip 3066 ? Transform ZaapTV to Android Box where I can see Google Apps and download any Application ?
I hope my question is easy for you and I m waiting your help asap to know if it’s possible or no before buying a new Box ?
Thank you very much for your support.
@Zorrofes
I think ZaapTV is running Android 5..1.1 & KODI is pre-installed.

I said before: [ Starting Device. RK3066 4.2.2 ]
Now, if you don’t pay you can’t go to Kodi or anywhere.
I can go only to seetings, but I can’t see About Device to verify more options.
My question is to know if I can install a new Android OS like: KitKat 4.2.2. Because I saw some Android TV with RK 3066 Dual-Core has this Chip ?
Thanks.
OPERATING SYSTEM:
ZAAPTV™ OS 32-bit, Ver. 4.1.
HARDWARE SPECIFICATIONS:
CPU RK3066 Dual Core 1.5 Ghz.
GPU Quad GPU technology.
Memory 1 GB DDR3.
Flash 4 GB MLC Nand.
