Best rom or kernel for screen on time?
I might just go back to Exodus, sot is alright and there's no bugs
what do you guys think? or should I go back to stock and install boeffla?
I have been using DU UNOFFICIAL and have been getting close to 6 SoT.

I can't get a Good SOT on any CM ROM, i'm on DU (i know it's based on AOSP) and i have like 2H30-3h SOT and sometimes much less and i have to charge it again the evening to use it the night. I use Greenify, Amplify(i blocked wakelocks, alarms) and i have boeffla kernel and a battery profile
I think i gonna try SkyDragon 5.0 ROM, when i was on this rom on LolliPop i had a good battery life but personalization and themes are missing (I don't really like Layers themes)

you might have mistyped about the 6 hr sot because I used DU for around a month and know how it performs and about its battery life. even though I apply all tweaks on DU which I apply on any other rom to get the best sot which I get(5.5-6hrs) DU is unable to give that result and even with a custom kernel. I merely get around 2.5-3 hrs Max which is hell bad for a user who gets around 6 everday. so for time being DU is not a daily driver. if you want to play with the rom and check some cool setting then go forward, enjoy them, rom is blazing fast but when it comes to battery life you'll always regret your decision of flashing DU. that's what I would like to say.

you know the best rom to stick with right now is the stock with stock kernel itself. I tried every combination of roms and kernels but at the end of the day I came back to stock oxygen OS. exodus is also a good rom but instead of solving bugs from the rom the devs are investing more time in tweaking the performance of it which is already at its peak and best out there in any rom for op2 but the end of the day stock has no other alternative..

What meant by him should be, to get the good battery ,
Please try Ressurextion remix ROM along with the boeffla kernel.
Both of these can get from android developement thread.

Siyah is Good, latest version, Dorimanx is also very good too. the option is yours to decide which one to use.
If you don't like one, just flash another one. It takes less than 5mins to flash a kernel

You're going to have to try for yourself. I personally am using siyah, but you might have better luck with another one. Don't forget, you can use different settings in ex tweaks to get even better battery life

With every kernel and android, just think about how you use the phone for saving battery. Like turn off wifi/data/sync whatever you are not using, to gain a little more battery. There is a lot of tweaks with every kernel and you will find them, searching the forums for the specific kernel.
GL tweaking
Hi! there a lot of people who suggested that kind of combo, but we can never really tell if it's real until we try it ourselves.
Try some tweaks maybe you'll someday find the right "combo" that suits you. The thing here is that everyone has a different "type of usage".. you may have read a post "omg! I get the best battery life for this xxxx kernel/rom/whatever tweaks"... who knows? he/she could've just said that cause his/her phone had been on standby mode all along xD

The short story ...
This is, for all intents and purposes, Franco Kernel. However, I have worked to cherry-pick commits
from the nightlies branch and apply them to the staging branch. I feel some great commits were lost
in the rebase and since I can't find the specific commits that make it great, I decided to just
carry on, adding commits from the nightlies branch to staging.
The long story ...
On March 19, 2014 Francisco Franco decided to rebase his kernel which is currently the nightlies
branch. To my understanding the reason was that users were complaining of various bugs, glitches,
etc. He had applied many CAF commits and was unable to determine where things were going wrong.
He was faced with a decision, find the problem or rebase? He chose to rebase. Since then, the
kernel has continued to get better and better!
"Then why are you using the staging branch?" you might be asking. Well, I was never plagued by
the problems other complained about and was really happy with r35. In fact, there is a little
nugget of gold with great value to me, hiding away in this branch! Let me explain.
On r35, when playing audio through PowerAmp, the CPU stays steady at 300mhz. Also, the way the
kernel selects which speed to run at seems to be more consistent. Apps, such as audio/video players,
seem to maintain a steady speed. Since r36 this has not been the case, audio/media players will
ramp up to 1GHz+ for no apparent reason. I was able to isolate one commit that as been applied to
the nightlies branch but the ramping up still continues.
This brings me to the nugget of gold! I have been able to determine there are about 1100 commits in
the staging branch that have not made it into the nightlies branch. The odds of finding the one or
two commits that reduce the ramping up are pretty slim. Believe me, I have tried.
Therefore, I have decided to re-animate the staging branch and work to bring commits from nightlies.
What is different?
The biggest difference is it is based on the "staging" branch
I've added 96Mhz, 192Mhz and 249Mhz CPU speeds.
Compiled with Linaro 4.8 (2014.03)
There will be no test builds, only releases that coincide with Franco Kernel.
The version will have a trailing a, b, c, etc. Each letter represents a build that has had past commits merged within that release. For example, the current version is r55a. Presently, there are about 120 commits from nightlies that I have to go through. If I merge some old commits before r56, the kernel will be released as r55b, r55c, etc.
What is the same?
many hundreds of commmits from the “nightlies” branch
initramfs files
Default FKU settings (see Notes)
Notes...
1. The FKU settings I change on my device are as follows... updated 06/30/2014
1a. If you are using a build named Re-animator-t** I suggest only changing the Minimum Frequency to 96000 and let me know how battery life is.
Minimum CPU frequency 96MHz
go_highspeed_load 95
highspeed_freq 192000
input_boost_freq 1036800
sync_freq 96000
target_loads 85 96000:90 192000:95 300000:98 600000:99
up_threshold_any_cpu_freq 300000
cpufreq_unplug_limit 1800000
2. For a long time I used PowerAmp, however I have recently switched to Rocket Music Player. Which you use is up to you but I believe RMP has a slightly less demanding UI.
3. At one point I suggested using Powersave governor to maximize battery. However, I think it does more harm than good, and has been removed.
4. I accept "Thanks" as payment.
5. Any monetary donations should be sent to Francisco Franco.

As I said in the OP, for all intents and purposes, this is Francisco Franco's Kernel. The difference is that it is not rebased. This is the staging branch of his git with most commits from his nightlies branch applied to it.

It will definitely get better battery life in some situations, specifically audio, which is what I use my device mainly for. For example, last night, on airplane mode, min cpu at 96mhz and governor set to powersave, I lost only 13% battery after 7.5 hrs of audio playback.

i know, thats what i dont wanna use/download.. but did anyways
i like to do all my flashing in recovery all at one go.. i dont like the thought of, "downloading/updating a new rom via recovery, boot up, then have to use/download flashify just to 'finish' the procedure".. Lazy? maybe.. but doing everything all at once is better, and better for my ocd.. dont like back tracking things if that makes any sense ha -- makes sense in my head

Ah, fantastic! -- Thanks a lot :highfive:
Been using it for a solid few hours now and it's running great!
I'm getting issues though when I restore your preferences xml in FKU. It restores and reboots me to fastboot mode no matter what I do. I've rebooted multiple times to no avail and I've even started over by reflashing my ROM, then the kernel, then re-imported the settings again and the same thing. Any reason that might happen? I've wiped all previous settings in FKU previous to doing that. Not a big deal, just trying to get some good new settings to try from someone who knows what these numbers mean.

To use the settings xml, you'll need to be rooted. Copy the file to /data/data/com.franco.kernel/shared_prefs/ then make sure the permissions are 0660.
NOTE!! I've removed the link to the xml. I realized I had also modified the voltages. I'm so sorry. See the OP for the changes you need to make. Again, really sorry about that.

Hello to all users ...
I'm looking for a "good ROM" based on Android Open Source Project which is:
> Stable
> Fast and smooth
> Great battery life
Which Custom ROM do you advise? Thanks!
For me Turbo (Layers) got the best battery life. Next
Dirty Unicorns (cm theme) . I found them both to operate above my expectations as far as mobile, WiFi and Bluetooth connections concerned. But really they all are top notch can't really say ones better then the other just depends on what fits your needs/style.
Zephyr-OS coming up, stay tuned

Yes actually another descent aosp ROM. Go thru them and see what features your looking for and also if you want cm theme or layers. If your using open gapps would suggest prior to may 10th to avoid issues. You can update play store later with XDA labs or google search. Slim and delta gapps are also good choices.
I would say Turbo as well. On my 7th day of trip and not a single hassle. Super smooth and battery friendly.
I say Slim6.. It has limited features but the speed and stability it delivers, is not from this planet
You can test it from here if anyone's interested >> link

DU and Turbo are basically same . Only difference is Du has CM theme engine while Turbo has layers support. Paranoid is also good but read that there are some call audio problems and battery life is not that great. FM is also missing if you care about it. Since Paranoid just started development, it will take some time before it gets stable.
My Fav Dirty Unicorns
