I have a zenfone 5 A501cg and i have obtained a lollipop rom from the zenfone2 ze500cl which is an exact replica of the former, so can you help port the roms to my phone?
I doubt Asus will release lollipop in time
The lollipop rom is not stock but modified by Asus(ZenUI 2.0)
Lollipop rom link: dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/ZenFone/ZE500CL/UL-ASUS_Z00D-WW-12.16.4.3-user.zip
I can cooperate in porting the rom and yes the devices have exactly same hardware except for that the former is a 3g device and the latter is a 4g device and has one sim slot whereas the former has two, the latter has a f2.2lens and the latter has f2.0 lens
N.B: I dont like to wait usually, so please don't tell me to wait for this and that
I have a Lenovo s820 which is a quad core processor based on mtk 6589. Lenovo provided Open Source Code for Kitkat on their website but i would like to update it to lollipop or maybe further. I previously owned a MI4I(Ferrari) which originally had lollipop but the developers were able to modify the device tree to support nougat and now even Oreo. If anyone of you'll could provide the steps or resources to do so i would be grateful.
Looking forward to expert opinion on this thread.
The broken is the chip set. They never release the source code for their kernel changes. This is why you don't see alot of development for those chips.
ok so the point is we have MM stock coolUI 8.0(unstable as hell) then we have nougat build based on 7.0(more unstable than MM)that's it. We tried porting Roms from moto g4 plus as it has almost the same structure. But failed.
stock kernel is messed up doesn't support much of elements.
there is also something wrong with the updater script.
It's just a mess on stock rom.
so my question is..
IS THERE ANYINE WHO CAN HELP US PORT A STABLE NOUGAT OR MM ROM?
Hi All,
I wanna port a kitkat rom for redmi note 4 but I'm unable to find any rom to port. I am new to rom porting. Can anyone please help me to find a perfect aosp rom of kitkat which suites redmi note 4 mido. I have found a guide to port but can't be able to find port rom. Any help will be appreciated. Sorry for bad english.
First of all, I think you are in the wrong section of the forum. But the mods will take care of this soon. But why do you want to use such and old android version? It is extremely outdated.
On kitkat Device will be in Extreme risk as There will be no new patches(staightfright and blueborne) and kitkat has low performance issue.
Missing Gate-keeper so any app will get permission directly
You can't port a KitKat ROM to our beloved mido as minimum firmware's SDK is of marshmallow.
What u wanna do with kitkat anyway? Oreo isn't good enough,

I like aosp roms and I'm currently using lineage os (oreo). I want to install xposed framework which is not yet released. Kitkat is a lite and good version of android. It supports almost all module of xposed. So please guide me to build a stable rom.

Kitkat is too old. So it's maybe impossible to port

Nobody will 'guide' you through the process of making a rom here. If it were that easy every pajeet in this forum would be making roms everyday. There's a lot that goes in to it.
Why Kitkat? I think it's near impossible to make it happen ;_;
Security issue will broke your phone, maybe
You can't port Lollipop/KitKat or lower version of android on mido, due to incompatibility with the SoC, as the minimum API Level is 23 or Marshmallow. Also, it isn't a computer, you can't install Lollipop or it's previous version of android on mido, just like can you install previous version of Windows/Linux on a computer.

check out the qualcomm website it says the minimum core sdk supported is marshmallow, even though you get a kitkat base there are going to be bugs impossible to fix. Even if it boots, hardware will not be usable, the blobs are not supported by android version. what exactly are you going to do? build the rom from source or just port the blobs?
Hello, mates,
I decided that I am not happy about my device stock rom, so i decided to make a custom rom port for my device....
Well i read a lot easy guides and watched loads of videos about easy porting, BUT looks like there is nothing easy with my device.
My device is Huawei Y7 it is upgradeable only to 7.0 Nougat. It wouldnt be a problem to find such custom rom but again my device has Snapdragon 435 processor... There is very little devices with such processor and most of them already has 7.1.2 nougat and all custom roms are this version or even 8.0 Oreo.
First question would be: Is there something i could do about that ?
