So, i tried t he default camera app that comes with miui and noticed that there is no option to change fps. I downloaded open camera and recorded a video in 1080p/30fps and 1080p/60fps and didn't notice any difference. I know this phone can record in 60fps cause in custom roms (CM,RR) that run android 6.0.1 the default application recorded 60fps in 1080p and it looked wonderful. Is there an app other than open camera that does that?

Still no option to change fps :/

Hi
Is there any way to improve the camera?
Specifically:
- get ~ 30 fps (or anything more than 15) in video mode
- get bigger videos (720x480 would be ok, and I believe that even 720p could be done with the right software and gpu acceleration)
- more vibrant colors en still images
Any idea is welcome
Thank you in advance

I just need the FPS to be increased. All else is make do-able.
Ofcourse any other tweaks would be welcome!

In other thread we discussed this issue, and we found that (apparently) the camera settings are hard-coded in the camera application.
I tried changing the file /data/local.prop and it didn't work
Other possibilities could be to change the /system/build.prop (but probably it will not work)
Or.. get another camera app that doesn't have this limitation
Is there a stock android camera app that can be used?

im looking for the stock froyo camera .apk also!
[like maniac!!]
If anyone manages to find a way to record at 30fps with this phone, then I can finally die happily

Just tried it. It installs fine, but crashes when switching to video mode, error when trying to get the preview.

after installing the apk, it replaces the stock camera of the phone?
Or you have that camera application as a replacement?
what's the uninstall process?
I've tried edit local.prop & build.prop with new presets, no success.
LG Camera for GT540 doesn't work on higher res videos even after updating those files

Mine takes good videos also, but the sound isn't the best. It is just 8khz!
Hmmm camera improvements for a 3mpx . I don't know , seems useless.
Though a filming improvement would be nice ( from 17 or 18 to 30 ) . Even on my Nokia 5230 with a 2mpx shooter I had 30fps VGA filming

My point exactly. Its not like the Optimus is not powerful enough to record 30 Fps.
And the thing is that its not 18 FPS all out. It drops to 7-8 fps at times. If i can get 24 fps and 22.5k Hz sound at 64 kbps all out i'll be happy. The exposure problems and the dullness of images and such is make do able but low fps and that bad bad sound just ruins it. Videos are totally useless. I dont expect HD quality out of my O1 but cmon. It should atleast do VGA properly.
I believe, that changing build.prop is totally ignored by the camera App. I've tried all possible settings/combinations and nothing changed. There must be some way.
Hey, in snapdragon 650 spec we can see that recording in 120FPS in FullHD res is supported. Is it possible to make it working on MIUI??
Also is able to record in 4K but only with Google Camera...
Probably needs Third Party Support.
Is there any way to get a hold of a google camera apk that works with redmi note 3 pro?

I've tried 4k recording with open camera on MIUI build by Xiaomi.eu
In good light record is nice quality and smooth but when it's dark record becomes laggy and poor quality.
I dunno if it's software or hardware fault.
Just because the SoC supports [email protected], doesn't mean the camera support it too, or does it?
I have unrooted LG G5. I downloaded 3rd party camera app (Open Camera) because it has manual video controls only to find out I can't shoot 4k with that app. There is option to chose 4k resolution, but video ends up 1080p. Would rooting the phone help?

Did you check if it is really 4k? (While on the video in gallery, tap details, resolution should be displayed there). I have the 4l option too but it saves the video as 1080p.

Ho , I figured out what was wrong , I was using the camera in photography mode . In video mode , our phones aren't powerful enough to support 4K videos. It is the case for every phone that supports 4K .( Edit #1: every phone I know)

Yes.
I think the only way to "solve" this is to contact the developer of the app.

So cant help u. I just like stock rom. Maybe other can help.
Use ScreenCam if you use magisk. Download it from Play Store from here.
Install it, open it and install the magisk module from the app.
Then set the audio source to internal.
This should work fine.
You won't be able to hear the audio while recording.
You can also use the FooView app from the store by granting it root Permissions.
Thanks.

Does the video you recorded with other recorders plays perfectly?
Do you face a green screen problem in your recorded video?
If yes, then I think the problem is with ROM. Had faced the same issue in HavOC but on Lineage and Nitrogen everything was fine, haven't tested CRDroid.
I am on Lineage and there is no lag while recording high end games like Fortnut, PUBG and PES.

This. I have oxygenOS beta 21 (OP6) build and it records internal audio and 60fps video
after the 9.0 update video stabilization doesn't work anymore on the mate 10 pro, they completely removed it. no way to enable it. why?
It is already activated by default, only in 4k and 1080p 60fps is not activated

Hi!
Unfortunately final quality is bad - the video floats and very much visible convex jelly-effect.
Tried so many app for video-shot and all of them hoot video almost the same as a stock camera.
Relatively good filming video(with EIS) the Open Camera app, but only at daylight and at FHD 30 fps only.
Looking for some other camera app...
