So, after upgrading to Marshmallow on Xperia E2306 (M4 Aqua), the turn off screen animation from Lollipop (One of the best thing I saw from the system) was lost, and for me, it now looks as a Froyo/Gingerbread device as it is now. Any solution?

Hello! Last week I purchased a Z7 Max from Efox. It came with stock Android 6 and worked very good out of the box. But I had to realize, that the battery seems to be VERY poor. Even after a few cycles of loading... What means very poor?: for testing I stopped every app, service, wifi, mobile, gps - all. After 8 hours without doing anything the battery was
35% !! WTF. Who needs a mobile like this.
I found a lot of threads which described the same behaviour after upgrading to Marshmellow with different devices (but found no one complaining the Z7 Max...).
Does anyone else have the same problems and hopefully has solved it?
Thank you in advance - Wolfgang
There is no stock Android 6.0 rom for the Z7 max as far as I am aware. What is the displayed version in the settings? Last official version is 3.86.
You should try to clear caches from recovery, or factory reset the device, then test it once more.
I have a z7 max which I haven't used for more than 8 months. I just started using it again since unofficial cm13 and Rr are out. The battery life is very poor, I can't remember how it was before but in my case my battery drops from 15% to 1%. When I connect a charger the phone states 5% right away.
I think in my case it's a bad battery but after reading this I'm considering installing latest stock rom for testing.
no Solution
Sorry for my late reply to your answers - I was on a trip for a week.
Well - with Android 6 , this was a misreading by me. Sorry. It had 5.1.1 with Software 3.9.6. Now I did a full wipe and "up"grade to 3.8.6. Sadly this had no battery-effect at all. The only progress was, that the bad behaviour at every reboot to update all apps (took about 5-10 Minutes!) is over.
I guess it's a hardware-defect and I will send it back to eFox. Very sad about this - I like this phone really.
Thanks for your replies (sorry for bad english...)
3.9.6 is probably the UI version (User Interface), of the last official firmware :
3.8.6 is indeed the last stock OTA (over the air) firmware update : it's a lollipop (5.1) android update.
So you probably reflashed the same android firmware on the device.
Hi there,
Probably a silly question, I have a SGP312 and it is on Lollipop since 3 years, do you think is there a way to upgrade to the latest Android 8.1?
If not 8.1, what would be the highest version I can go and how?
The Tablet is essentially a stock one, I never did anything on it, just applied the Sony updates they made available for this old model.
Thank you,
Alex

Hello!
It's quite possible to install even the latest 8.1, though it is still not that stable now.
If you want 99% bug-free experience, i would stick to android 7.1.2, like Resurrection Remix ROM till 8.1 gets to a polished state.
Check this guide for installing custom ROMs on device.
Thank you for the link!
I will give it a try very soon.

Hi buddies,
I have a Sony Xperia Tablet Z (Model: SGP321) with Lollipop v5.0.2.
I had rooted it since a couple of years, so no need to say, it couldn't be upgraded to any higher version of android.
Now I unrooted it and wanna upgrade its android.
My questions:
1. What's the highest Android version officially released for this model?
2. What's the best version you advise me to install on it?
Thanks for your kind & prompt reply.
Cheers,
Leon

Hello!
1. The latest official firmware is android 5.1.1 (v.10.7.A.0.222 or 10.7.A.0.228 depending on region, though internally they are identical).
You can update via xperia-companion software.
2. What's the best only you can say. If stock sony one works good for you, stick to it.
If you have knowledge how to install, and want to try something "custom", there are firmwares based on android 7.1.2 and 8.1 on this forum.
The media players on my Xperia sgp312 keep pausing, has it got something to do with the software, I am still on Android 5.1.1
Hi all!
sony z ultra is a great phone, but it stopped making firmware. I know there are pros who can make great firmware. guys don't let our phone die, please make a working firmware on android 9 or at least 8 :silly:
Yes please...
Yes please :highfive:
I wonder if there still any dev for Z Ultra...
read the topic about the custom rom Oreo and Pie, Practically the Last Developer who was creating these roms disappeared and never came back now ... now there is only one developer of kernels that is about to disappear too
Just got my XZ1 g8341 today. I've had the compact for 3 years and decided to go with a bigger screen.
I don't know much about the roms because I've run stock pie on my compact. My XZ1 only has android 8.
I've tried to read the list of roms but I'm not sure which one to install. Can someone suggest a newbie a solid rom like android 10?
Thanks.

if you have UBL try lineage os
Hi guys,
I have spent hours and hours reading on the internet how to do this, I thought is was as easy as on any other phone I did in the past, but apparently this is not the case.
First of all, lets start with the specs:
Model Number: SGP312 (Wi-Fi Only)
Android Version 5.1.1
Build number: 10.7.A.0.222
I know that before anything else, I need to root this tablet, but there is no way I can find instructions specific for this tablet, or better there are, I found this link but really? I cannot understand many of the steps.
So is there a guide to root this tablet?
I have already installed the Official TWRP App on my tablet, but when I try to access it in recovery mode, there is no way, Power+ -Volume, does not work, as Power + +Volume turns the tablet off.
Is there an official guide on this forum specific for this tablet?
Which Android version would you recommend to install? 9 or 10?
Any help is much appreciated.
Thank you!
Alex

I did follow the guide and I was able to successfully install lineage-16.0-20201220-UNOFFICIAL-pollux_windy with open_gapps-arm-9.0-nano-20210712.
I have noticed three glitches:
When I plug in the tablet to the AC to charge, when it is fully charged, no green LED light is ON. It used to be the case with its stock 5.1. Also, no percentage shows while the tablet is OFF, plugged in to the AC and charging. It only shows the big green battery if you touch the screen.
The digital clock which comes by default, only shows the time in the home page, but not the date underneath, although in the settings, the date is checked.
I have downloaded Gmail, everything works well, but the icon is the classic old one, not the new bold version
Is there any solution to the above?
Thank you!

I suggest of using the latest build of 14/07/21 from here.
Hi Rootk1t,
I re-installed everything from scratch, the latest version from July 14, 21 GAPPS and all of that.
The above issues are still there.
Just to give you an idea of how the icons look like, please see the attached.
Any help is appreciated.
