So last night my Huawei Ascend G630 turned itself off with 28% battery left. When i turned it back on the wifi symbol in the top right was just a shell, i thought 'ok, my wifi is disabled, better turn it on'. However, when i went to turn it on i discovered the slider was off and gray. Meaning i can't turn it on. When i open the wifi settings it just says 'wifi turning on' and doesn't get anywhere with that. I'm considering a factory reset but if anyone has a solution please let me know.
Thanks.

I got a new gTab from Woot. I flashed CM7 onto it with the latest files on the wiki. Everything looks good except that I get no notifications when the sleep is turned off. That is a bit annoying. Also, sometimes the wifi disappears. I need to toggle the wifi button in the notification bar to get it back. I have seen many people complain about it but I don't see a clear solution. Can someone give a noob guide to fixing this if there is a solution?
EDIT: I pinged the tablet with the screen off and could not do so. I could ping it when the screen was on. the screen turning off was disabling my wifi. Can some1 tell me how to fix this? Please?
First thing to check is your wifi sleep policy. You can find this under the wifi setting menu. Hit the menu button again for Advanced setting. Under the wifi sleep policy set it to never.
Cheers
Forgot to mention that it was set to Never. The issue still happens.
I got it to work finally! I had to update to pershoot's 2.6.32.39 kernel. 40 does not work.
I'm using the SGP5 and when I toggle GPS (with Widgetsoid on screen toggle) it sends me to settings. On my Optimus it turns GPS on and off. Is there a toggle that turns GPS on and off without going to settings?
I'm also trying out Navfree. When you turn on GPS (from settings), you still have to check the GPS box in Navfree settings to get it to come on. Anyone else notice this?
Does anyone else have an issue with the WiFi sleep policy? My WiFi never turns off when my tablet is in sleep mode. I set it to 'never', turn off the screen and no matter how long I wait, it is still connected to WiFi while the screen is off (which destroys the battery now). I have been turning it off manually and putting it into low performance mode every time I turn off the screen, but would like this to be automatic. Any suggestions?
Edit: wrong section, sorry. MOD please delete this! I am posting it in General.
I hardly ever used the NFC feature on my SPH-L600 but it always worked in the past. When I went to turn it on last night, the switch is on in settings but greyed out, and the notification toggle is faded green. I can not turn it on or off. I have not changed any hardware or software and the battery is stock. Anyone else have this problem?
In Marshmallow B320 and B330, if the screen is off, Honor 7 doesn't look for known wifi networks in range to connect to. In Lollipop it does.
Scenario: I come back to my home with Honor 7 in my jacket. In my home I have a WiFi network WPA2/PSK configured and working. Until I switch on the screen, the smartphone doesn't connect. After 2 seconds I bring on the screen (locked or not, with fingerprint or power button), the wifi icon appears and it confirm "XYZ network connected". This happens also if I have the option "Wi-Fi active during suspension" (in Wi-Fi advanced settings).
Once reconnected, if screen goes off there is no problem and Honor remains connected. The issue happens only in reconnection if I exited and entered back the coverage with screen off.
Same Honor 7 with previous Lollipop and/or other smartphones and device have not this behaviour and get connected as soon as you are in range of wi-fi, with or without screen on.
The strange is that I don't find other people with same issue...
Same here! But I have no idea how to fix it.
I think it's an energy saving option. Try this: (my phone isn't english so i I tell you the steps) go to settings, scroll down to something like 'special settings' (It has a grey gear icon), then look for something like 'battery manager' (you will see how much running time you have) and tap the gear icon in the upper right corner. You will see an option for wifi and you can choose from 3 options and go for always on. Hope this help
