Hi everyone, I have a question about the Honor 5x.
About 2 months ago, I bought the Honor 5x. A few weeks ago, I decided to install Cyanogen Mod 13 onto it. Attempting to install the newest version, I could not, due to having the KIW-L24 B151 firmware. Now I don't quite understand this. Everyone buys the same phone, why is it that some come with B151, and B331? I guess my main question is can they be changed considering they are just firmware.
On the CyanogenMod Honor 5x thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/hon...nofficial-cyanogenmod-13-0-nightly-t3344499); it's stated that you must have the latest firmware to install the newer versions of CyanogenMod. In order to do this, you must go back to stock, and update to Huawei's Android 6.0 firmware. Unfortunately, they have not released firmware for the B151 model. Therefore I cannot upgrade the firmware, meaning I cannot update CyanogenMod.
So in conclusion, can I upgrade from B151 to B331? If not, is there a firmware update for B151 that will allow me to update CyanogenMod?
(If you're wondering why I'm so itchy to update, it's because the fingerprint scanner isn't working in the version I'm using. (July 18th)
Thank you for your time!

Hi
My aunt gave me her old phone (XT1524) as she bought a new device.
The device had received the latest December patch. I did want to install LOS 14.1 and thus I unlocked the bootloader. But I want to return the latest stock. I couldn't find the latest one. Only the February one. As a result, I'm NOT able to install it completely and if I flash only the system and the boot.img, I get an update notification (which I'm scared to install because it may brick my device, or it is my idea????)
Anyhow, where I can find the latest and "greatest" stock firmware for my XT1524
Thanks
You're safe to install that update, there is currently no firmware with the December patch available to download. Although at first you might want to fully flash every file from the February firmware from scratch, just to be safe.

Hi everyone! I have rooted and unlocked my H9 STF-L09, i find it ok i guess, but i really miss the EMUI 5.1 days... I just think that was better.
So i'm asking you, is there a way to go fully back to stock Nougat, maybe with locked bootloader?
Thank you for your attention.
If you are rooted, your bootloader's actually unlocked.
So, because you're on oreo, you could use HuRUpdater to downgrade to a nougat firmware.
I'll test C432B184 rollback packages, if C432 is your actual region, as this version is the latest nougat build released for honor9 :
Code:

@FlorianSSJ ?
Hello all,
I have a quastion any chance to update phone with COL-L2-C432E4R1P9B159? I have emui 8.1 v151 and unlocked bootloader and twrp.
First of all, I haven't tried it yet as well.
But shouldn't the update be like any other update?
I has performed the last updates with the HuRupdater and the instructions in https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-9/development/tool-flash-official-firmware-recovery-t3769279
which worked for me well.
I don't give any advice, but maybe this works with EMUI 9 as well.
I have the middle east version. I just tried to update it with hurupdater and everything went perfectly I'm running android pie now without any problems
My step daughter had received her replacement phone this week after her newly purchased mi 10 5g bricked itself within 24 hours of purchasing.
I've had a little look at her new handset and it's shipped with a rom dated March 2020. My guess\instinct would tell me that it's likely that the update that caused the problem was based on 11 and it needed a more recent firmware than the one it's shipped with.
Does anyone have suggestions? Is this handset able to fastboot flash official stock updates without unlocking the bootloader? Is the how this handset updates or do I need a windows based app?
Should I download and install progressive updates from March till now, flashing one after the other?
Currently she's disabled automatic updating due to fear of another brick
Hello. I've been reading posts since February that people are getting updates to android 12 and MIUI 13 on Mi 11 Lite 5G. On my phone, ever since I bought it, I have version 12.5.5. This is marked as "MIUI Global Stable" RKIEUXM, and the latest security update is since 2021-08-01, which seems odd, it's not an old phone, it should get regular updates.
In some posts it was mentioned that I should change region from current one (Poland) to a Switzerland, Japan or India to get the update, but that didn't work.
I don't want to root my device and update via fastboot nor recovery, since I don't want to lose warranty.
Is there any way I can get an update to my phone, or my region (or something else) is locking me from it and I still need to wait?
