Hi all. Just wondering if there is any Aussies here using this phone. If so what is the service like with the Optus network? Also did you buy it in oz or online. Looking at getting one to replace my lgg4 which has spent more time at warranty than in my hands. Looking at buying from aliexpress. Is there a version of this to look for ( like lgg4 has 815, 811, etc) or are they all the same. Wanting to install twrp and vinilla android and don't want to get stuck with a version that can't be unlocked. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

hi all,
i searched the internet looking for a place in london where i can buy a black unlocked hero and didnt get any luck... i didnt think it will be that hard... all phones are either locked, or sold through web sites, and i dont want to order it online coz my brother is coming back from london in 2 days and i want him to get it with him :s
anyone can help me with a store's name, adress and price will be much appreciated.
thanks.
If you buy one that's locked you can get it remotely unlocked online
OK so I'm getting bored of my X10i as there is pretty much nothing you can do with it and I'm probaby going to go back to a winmo based phone.
I've had many x1s and loved that phone however I want something new, I've also have the Touch Pro2 and while it was brilliant I found the camera rubbish and it was just too 'thick'.
I've decided to go for the HD2 (I think after the x10 I wont notice a massive size increase, except screen obviously) however I'm stuck between getting a 2nd hand one which was on T-Mobile or Orange (UK for both).
The 'physical' branding on the T-mobile handsets seam less obtrusive so I think I'll go for that. My question is does anyone see a problem in getting an (UK) T-mobile branded HD2, debranding it and flashing costume ROMS & chaning the radio? I'll be using it on Vodafone (UK).
Thanks for the help, hope to be visiting this part of the forums more over the next few months.
you should have no problems at all with either, the phones are identical. might have to pay fifteen quid to get it unlockedbut that's it.
sam is the expert so no worries on that score. But i would advise caution on buying a second hand hd2. Just make sure the phone has no issues due to heat problems.
I know quite alot of hd2's switch off when they overheat and this results in normally needing a new motherboard etc. so make sure you test the phone before you buy it.
Good luck and i am sure you will luv your new phone.
Brilliant guys, thanks for the advise. Unfortunately I can't text the phone as I'm buying from CEX (I have vouchers to use plus I'm getting aboutn £200 in vouchers for my x10).
If the worst happens I have 12 months warranty or I'll just send it to HTC to get fixed... hopefully...

Ahhh i see. in that case mate i am sure it will be fine. It really is a great phone. Perhaps you should check out an energy rom?
Enjoy the phone!
I actually used the Engery ROMS on my X1 so I think it will be good to get back to it!
Thanks again guys!
I got mine from cex and it was on o2. Get a grade a stock as this is like new. Mine had the seal on everything even the phone hadn't been used on the network.then I went to the link on the o2 websiye and they give you the unlock code for free.

Hi everyone,
Sorry if this has already been answered, but I'm losing focus reading all the posts on the subjects. And I'm on a limited timeframe, so I would really appreciate if someone could help me or point me at information that I can use. I'm totally new to Android - replacing my iPhone.
I just got a Note from Rogers (Canada). I have 2 weeks to return if I'm not satisfied. I like Note but it's locked and I travel a lot, so I need to unlock it. There are too many options here and I'm getting confused:
1. Google gives me a lot of links to some shady websites that promise an unlock via some magic. Are these legit? Do they work? I couldn't find any definite answer.
2. Rooting/replacing ROMs/other crazy stuff. I'm ok with this as long as I know that I can unlock the device and it will stay unlocked. I would prefer to wait until ICS is released, but I need an unlock soon
So, my questions are:
1. Is going with Note from Rogers a good idea? Or should I spend money on an unlocked version from Europe?
2. Should I buy Roger's version outright? Expensive and I'm paying my 3 year term anyway Then they can unlock the phone for a fee ($50).
3. Can I use one of those online unlocking sites? Or will I just get ripped off and won't get the actual unlock?
4. Does the phone stay unlocked after an update (like to ICS) if online unlockers are used and work?
5. Seeing how different the versions of Note are is there a chance that the Canadian version (Roger's) will get much less attention in the area of third-party devs simply based on the number of users? Or it doesn't matter? I would really love to get into modding and having some real nice functionality/wigets/look-and-feel on the device.
Well, sorry for being so verbose. I would appreciate any help on this. My other choice would be to get a Galaxy Nexus instead, but I'd hate to give up this huge screen.
Thanks in advance! Hope this is not totally off-topic. If it is, I'm sorry for that.
cellunlocker.net is what most have been using, if record ur process of unlocking ur phone and send it to them they refund ur money i myself couldn't record it so i paid but well worth it 25 bucks and its pretty quick just check ur spam folder in mail if ur using gmail mine was there within two hours

Thanks for the advice. Used the service, got the code in couple of hours and unlocked my phone! Happy as can be!
P.S. It cost me $7.99 to unlock Rogers Note.
I have done some searching and I am having a hard time finding the info I am looking for. I have a T-mobile plan and I need the wifi calling. I am looking for a newer phone (galaxy S5/LG G3) and I am having a hard time finding which phones can have a stock T-mobile rom put on them to enable wifi calling. I will be buying off Craigslist so I would rather not get a t-mobile version in case the ESN gets locked. Sprint always seems to be the cheapest phones. Any recommendations are appreciated. Max price is probably about $350. Thanks!
Hi all.
After using the Standard One X for the last couple of years, I came across the deal of a lifetime on a mint One X+ from a person i know well, so I know it's not too good to be true etc etc....but it's sim locked.
Does anyone know the most reliable and trustworthy place, preferably in the UK to get it Sim unlocked online, for a nice cheap price, before I root it etc and install custom ROM?
Any help will be very much appreciated.:good:
cheers
Matt
