Hi,
I'm new and not allowed to post here yet: http://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-5/development/recovery-twrp-xiaomi-mi-5-t3412123
So, I will do my question here.
I've got my XIAOMI MI5 (64GB) and updated it to the MIUI 7 Global 6.5.30 | Beta
I flashed the twrp-3.0.2-1-gemini and the phone can't start in recovery, just hold the teamwin icon on the screen and nothing else happens.
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.0.2-1-gemini.img
After I tried just to boot the image:
Code:
fastboot boot twrp-3.0.2-1-gemini.img
and I still have the same problem, just hold the teamwin icon on the screen.
So I decided to flash a lower version, twrp-3.0.2-0-gemini, and I got the freeze problem, couldn't use the TWRP (is there anyway to solve it? I had read about to wait 5 minutes with the phone powered off, but in my case it didn't work).
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.0.2-0-gemini.img
So I kept searching for a solution, and I found the version twrp-3.0.2-gemini. I flashed it and the freeze issue is now solved, but I don't have OTG-usb.
Can anybody tell me which TWRP version should I use to fix the freeze issue + OTG USB?
thanks in advance, Ivan.
Hi, can you please post the TWRP that worked for you? thanks!
i got the same problem too..

Hey guys, I need some help urgently.I updated to the newest version of MIUI just now, and now my phone is stuck at boot. It just shows the MI logo and never goes past that.I can, however, access fastboot mode, but cannot power down the device. Can someone please tell me whether or not the phone is bricked, and how to recover from this situation?
Fastboot, reboot EDL and Mi FLash.

your phone is soft bricked, You need patched fastboot to reboot in EDL, a Fastboot ROM, and Mi Flash Tool. Goodluck.

Miui or rom from miui.eu ?
Last miui.eu rom let me with an empty /system the first time i flashed it, the second try work so i don't know why.
Try to see if you still have recovery access power + volume up
Unlocked or Locked bootloader?
locked bootloader.
It tells me Not enough space is available to process this command
No, I don't have access to the recovery.
I just switched to a newer version of MIflash.
Seems like it's working.
Guys it worked!!! Thank you, all of you for offering this newbie your help.

do u have access to recovery?? if u have, then u can just flash previous build without wiping data..
Think if you press vol+ vol- and power and then use the button combo to boot into TWRP you will be fine, takes abit of messing to get it right.

TRY THIS

Did you try this solution? Did it work? Did you lose your apps/data?
Solved
Eventually managed to get onto twrp using adb (it was a bit of a statistical process... Didn't always work)
From there I just flashed cm 14.1 again, and it looks OK now
Thanks you all for the help!
Like I said earlier failed flash by CMxx doesn't overwrite TWRP, you can boot back into recovery just have to try a few times. Happened to me pressing both volume buttons and power switched phone off then I used button combo and it booted into TWRP.
Might have to grab a usb cable and use ADB to boot into fastboot. It happened to me and that was the only way for me.

Can you boot into twrp recovery? Turning off phone and doing power + volume up button. If yes you can try doing a factory reset.

Are you bootloader unlocked?
stuck on fastboot screen
Sir to be honest i am not a software person and possibly wont understand what you said, but ill explain in detail what exactly happened.
First I had purchased Mi a3 with android 9 and later i got an update saying android 10 the phone was working absolutely fine.
Today i received another update which mentioned android 10 and as usual i updated it and when i restarted the phone i directly got that fast boot screen.
I went thru so many websites regarding this issue but did not find any solution and almost everywhere it said to flash the phone.
So i tried to flash the phone, I downloaded firmware, miflash tool, abd drivers, after doing all this my phone is not being detected on my pc, i checked device manager and even i got links from XDA as well i followed that as well but still no luck on detection.
Upon finding the query on detection issue i found solutions to debug from my device but my device is not starting up so i even cant do debugging as well.
Please help.

Did you try to reset the phone using the recovery mode?
From switch off, press simultaneously for a few moments the Volume Up and Power Button.
you should enter in recovery mode and apply a factory reset.
this works for me
stuck on fastboot screen
I cannot enter the recovery mode when i press the buttons you said it again comes at fast boot screen and i tried to flash with mi flash tool but that flash process continuesly goes on and no changes in phone.

My problem is stated below :
I was stuck at twrp then i tried rebooting, it came to twrp
Then I tried installing PE11 December build then also it came back to twrp after reboot
Then I tried to anvanced wipe and then also it came back to twrp
Then I factory reset it and installed PE11 then also it came to twrp
Now I thought there might be problem with twrp... Then I tried installing twrp
When I chose twrp image then 4 options came by 1. Boot 2. Recovery 3. System image 4. I don't remember
I chose boot mode and then rebooted from the same page, it again came back to twrp...
Now I tried installing twrp with recovery mode it was succes but I rebooted my phone from the same page and not going back to choose reboot >Recovery
And from that time it is stuck at poco boot logo... I am not able to go to twrp anymore
Neither into fastboot mode nor I am able to power off my phone...
I left it as it is and it powered off due to low battery and then when I put on charge it again keeps popping poco boot logo...
Anyone help me... I desparately need help... anyone help

Hi Guys, so the things I was using the official AOSP extended rom on my Redmi Note 9 Pro after but after ccouple of days changed my mind wanted to revert back to the official MiUi rom. So used the Miflash Tool to flash "joyeuse_global_images_V12.5.4.0.RJZMIXM_20220215.0000.00_11.0_global" after flashing it reported a failed error and the fastboot screen started flashing on and off. After turning off the phone and pressing the power button to turn the phone flashes the redmi logo for less than a second and turns off. Plugging in the charger makes the phone flash Redmi logo and then turn off again repeatedly. I can neither get into fastboot mode nor into recovery. Is there any solution to this problem? Any help will be much appreciated. Below is a short clip of the problem.

According to the log, the flash was successful, the error is normal (6:02:45 PM 9f886790]:error:Not catch
checkpoint (\$fastboot -s .* lock),flash is not done) since you did not lock the bootloader (flash_all.bat).
After the flash the phone reboots automatically, did you interrupt it?
First try to see if a button is not defective, a bit of WD40 product for example and operate it several times.
But if it worked well before it would be a strange coincidence but it is possible.
(I had this case on one of my phones by dint of flashing).

It seems like a common issue happens with me when I try to flash stock rom via fastboot, if you ever been able to enter fastboot flash custom recovery (like twrp) and use it to flash the stock rom zip (recovery method), it should work..
