After flashing Dirty Unicorn rom in Moto g XT1033 I am facing a weird issue. A tap tap sound plays in the background like I am adjusting volume. It happens at random. So to get rid of the bug I wiped the Rom and restored the nandroid backup of previously installed Rom. Now the problem is it still persists. I then switched to Exodus rom still this issue persist. Can anyone help me with it?

Can you somehow provide the "tap tap" sound in a recording? Also, have you flashed a custom kernel ro anything similar that might cause the issue?.
I can't provide the clipping but it is exactly the same sound as you can hear when increasing notification volume with volume button. Regarding Kernel I did try flashing Kaminari kernel.

Well then, have you tried to turn the increasing volume sound off? In cyanogenmod 13 it is located in settings>sounds>other sounds.
I have tried everything. Nothing works. My friend too had this problem. He had to flash stock firmware to get back to normal.

There's your answer mate!
Nothing works bro. Still plays tap tap sound randomly. Sometimes 2-3 times in an hour. But generally 2-5 times a day.

Not sure, but, I remember the oneplus 3 had this issue with vibrations in the home button in oxygen os. Maybe try looking for the fix for that and see if that works?
Sad to say but perhaps there ain't any fix. I tried almost everything but the problem is still there.

Had the same problem when I install SpeedROM. Go into setting and change the ringtone and notification settings off of silent. They are set to silent by default. Try that and report back. If all is well leave me a Thanks

did anyone ever find a solution to this? i have the same problem
I recently installed Cyanogen mod 11 on my Droid DNA.
Overall I'm loving the look and feel of Cyanogen mod, but I'm running in to some minor issues with maximum volume. For some reason the max volume for the speakers is now much quieter than it was before.
I've tried various solutions, one of which is here, I found the file they talk about but I have no "Speaker" section, just many variations.
Has anyone else had this issue? Does anybody know how I could force the max volume to be louder out of my speakers? I'm using YouTube videos as a reference.
I am running it and don't have this issue. Is your speaker partially blown or anything. Is there any physical damage on the phone.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Nope, no damage to the phone. And when I revert to the stock ROM the sound is perfectly fine.
That's strange. Maybe I'm just not used to it. I haven't noticed.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Yeah with me it was a big difference, I might try going through the sound config file on my phone and upping all the volumes by a few percent to see if that helps.

Well, I did a clean install and made sure to install snapshot 5, and everything works perfectly now! Speakers are just fine which is great news.
Thanks for the help.

Yeah I believe I was accidentally using a nightly instead of a snapshot.
However a couple days after I fixed this issue CM updated to a newer snapshot, and the sound is broken again. Do you think I should report this as a bug? Or just wait for the newest update?

If you did a clean install and it's on a snapshot you can report a bug. But if you didn't do a clean install do that first and then if it's still there report the bug.
Please press the thanks button if I have helped you in anyway.

It says all bug reports require a logcat, should I just run some sound apps then include the logcat?
Where's the thanks button?
Natural Log Sound Output decay
I recently installed "Dna Official Stock Kitkat - Rooted" for HTC Droid DNA by "santod040"
All sound files... alarms, ringtones, streaming start out fine then drop volume speaker output to near nothing

I flushed and am trying cm-10.2.1-dlx.zip to test speaker output; might give vipor rom a try as well
The handset is S-OFF, ROOTED, & CWM touch 6.0.4.5, with "Dna Official Stock Kitkat - Rooted" 4.4.2; Yes, sound was fine before the OTA notice came through prompting using santod040 packages.
Much Thanks to all lead to the lite..
viper4android Disables LPA
The only time I had ever had an issue was flashing a nightly dirty. I managed to recover the audio by installing viper4android.apk. The newer versions of V4A automatically detects if LPA (low powered audio) is enabled. It will give you an option to disable it, just tick that yes please button. Usually LPA only affects things like bluetooth audio so it wouldn't drain the battery as fast, but I know with previous CM versions they had a bluetooth audio issue. Most likely completely unrelated but there might have been a WIP that caused things to be construed. If another rom version works then i'd recommend just installing a stable release.
REMEMBER ~ you are able if you run stable :good:
This actually worked for me!
I downloaded Viper For Android, installed the updated drivers it recommended, then turned on "eXtra-Loud" for the phone speaker.
Audio is now just as loud as before.
Where's the thanks button? So that I can give you thanks.

Just wanted to pipe in with something that may be others source of low volume issues. I have had low volume on my stock Droid DNA for quite some time and really beat my head against the wall trying to figure it out. Turns out it was very simple for me but not terribly obvious. Get your phone out and look at the speaker grill (just below the Beats Audio logo on the back). Does it look a bit clogged? Mine was completely clogged (I don't use a case). I took out a toothbrush I use just for cleaning and cleared it up and my audio is nice and loud now. Just wanted to pass on this simple fix to try so others would see it.
Viper has been abandoned; what's a good ROM now?

I am facing serious issue that my phone reboots frequently when I press power button to unlock the screen. I had this problem after upgrading to kk4.4.4. I thought it will be resolved in the new update. But now in lollipop also am facing the issue. Now my device is not rooted and only installed WhatsApp, Facebook, telegram, clash of clans and XDA. Stock recovery with lollipop 5.0.2
Rebooting is more in lollipop than KitKat. Is it software problem or hardware problem?
Please help.

Lol doing so will be useless and a good feelings killer, this is a hardware issue, hence it can be seen in kitkat and lollipop and also will be seen in all future updates.
I used to face the same issue as you.
The fix:
Settings -> Security -> Uncheck "Power button instantly locks"
Set Automatically lock to - 5 seconds after sleep.
I tried it already. But no use...

You could try reflashing stock ROM and try using the stock launcher instead of Nova launcher or any other custom launchers and check if the reboots persists.
I have stock ROM and recovery. Had installed google launcher and removed it. No luck.

I think its a screen burn issue... Search for it to find solution. You can try some apps which filter blue light.
It is hardware issue or software

flash stock KDZ and wipe data. if issue is still there it sounds like hardware. you'd have to exchange or return your phone. or replace the screen yourself.
I will try that

I have the US998 on 20H, unlocked with TWRP, rooted with Magisk 19.1. Whenever the TWRP flashable version of 20H was released, I upgraded from 20G. For some reason my games are now lagging, where the screen will pause for half a second then resume animations. I've tried game mode which will lower the frame rate and resolution but it's not a solution. This happens in other apps too, but is especially noticeable (and annoying) in games.
As best I can tell, this started a few weeks ago, but I can't link it to anything specific. In the recent past I've gone to 20H, I believe Magisk was incremented, and the games have updated as well. Is there a graphics setting that may cause the half second bloop? I'm ready to wipe and restore, if I thought there was a chance it might fix it.
Nobody experienced this? Is this a general android question rather than specific to this phone?

You could try this magisk module. I would look into recently installed apps running in the background. For instance, I have the Neutron app installed and sometimes I can see it scanning for new media in notifications. What'sapp location icon occasionallly appears in the status bar for a split second even though I haven't used its location service in days. I won't turn either of them off since I use them both but I'm sure Neutron slows my phone down.

I didn't get around to wiping. At this point, whatever updates one of my games had last week seemed to eliminate it from that game (PaD). I also uninstalled some old games that I didn't realize weren't working anymore. I don't think I'm in dire need of a wipe at this point.
