Does anyone know if the bootloader will be locked with the VZW version of the Note 7? If so, are developers working on unlocking this? I am aggressively researching that answer and finding no luck. Be Blessed

1. The bootloaders for the US versions of the Note 7 will likely be locked, like the S7.
2. Verizon NEVER unlock their bootloaders until a VERY long time has passed.
3. Developers would probably never be able to unlock without Samsung/Verizon.
This file has been quite modified with a resource editor, as well as shows 3.10 as original name, 3.12.5 as actual version, and 3.12.4_4 here.
While it's unlikely that any actual function of the binary has been modified, it's very shady (KANGLY) to modify an executable like this before distributing.
Running it has not resulted in any ill effects inside a sandbox, however...
I still don't trust it.
Check OP's post history. It's fake.

This released by Samsung we only change logo
just for curiosity so i download it but win 10 open up a warning....
"Running this application might put your pc at risk . DONT RUN"
but this warning never shows up in Odin3 3.12.3
wonder why?
Dloaded from Mediafire. Asks for a password in order to open. Definitely flaky
I see an option called "Set IMEI Condition"... Sounds like a modding tool. LOL

Any idea as to why this happens? I I'm on stock firmware LFB just rooted
Sent from my GT-I9300
Just means it's not an S3 code like most on that list you probably read.
Are you sure, but this is the code to check your uock status
Sent from my GT-I9300
worked for me
I am not sure what this code does.
I checked this code, and got,
Personalizatiob Status - not sure if it has to be Personalization.
Network Lock
[OFF]
etc..
I am on Stock ROM.
This why I'm a bit concerned I'm just using a stock Rom just rooted and the code doesn't work any ideas. I my phone did come with a branded rkm from three UK but I flashed it with a unbranded stock Rom
Sent from my GT-I9300
First why that code ??? Samsung give it to you or is it the usual secret codes poster where the codes are plain wrong .
jje
EGAN is right.most of these "secret"codes are taking from gs2 forum and usually ppl just assume they work and in some regions they do,some they don't.
We need someone find the codes specific to gs3
this code is used to check network lock status etc it is working on most of the samsung phones.
it was working on GSIII on le8 stock(atleast on my phone), after updating to latest one its not working anymore.
the message you are getting is because u have pressed green button(call)
normally when u enter those codes all u have to do i put # and the result will be displayed.
This code is not working on GSIII with firmware higher than LE8.
Ok i managed to check on SGS3 firmware later than LE8 and it works .
But i repeat many of the secret codes posts are a total secret and don't actually work and the poster never tested them .

I can confirm that code *#7465625# doesn't work on my Galaxy S3 (GT-I9300, Android 4.1.2, Kernel 3.0.31). And I don't have other network micro SIM to check if it is locked or not.

Yes I do and 8 months is not 8 years, people still can find this thread. So it might save somebody's time to go straight to that thread explaining why:

you brought no new information to the thread

Not likely. Most Samsung devices that have 4.3 or above have a newer bootloader that does not allow downgrading. Attempting to do so could easily brick your device. Best case scenario, a soft brick. Worst case, a hard brick. It's possible that you could run a custom 4.2.2. rom as that will not mess with the bootloader, but sometimes there are issues with mixing and matching OSes and modem versions. Why would you want to downgrade anyway?
Ever since the software update forced itself to download ive had nothing but problems. I could be in my music player and it will randomly stop or change songs. Ot doesnt matter what app im in i have issues with it. My biggest problem with it is the fact that not only has my battery life been cut in half, it also avts lile it doesnt want to charge. All this started after the software update. Honestly id rather root it but im still waiting cf autoroot for it to be available. I love this phone just dont like the software update. Any suggestions?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G730A using XDA Free mobile app
Over the air updates can cause issues like that if you don't reset the phone. They (the manufacturers) of course would never tell you that, but I work in a cell repair shop and I do software mods and unlocks for a side job/hobby as well as hang out on XDA all the time and see it constantly. It's the same for them all, even Apple devices. I'm not saying that OTAs WILL cause issues, but it's certainly more of a contributing factor to issues like these vs resetting the phone before the update or update completely via the computer., especially when making complete OS version jumps.
Is it possible to manually reinstall the os update?

I've only seen information regarding the T-Mobile version having an unlockable bootloader. Is there any word on the AT&T version?
I'd love to know as well. Might have to go to T-Mobile if they have it truly unlocked
I have the ATT version and dev options has the OEM unlock option.

Hi Mojar, thanks for the response. Pardon my ignorance because I don't know how the process works - does that confirm the AT&T version can be rooted?
As far as I know, I could be wrong, if there is an OEM unlock option in the dev option. chances are they "may" be a hope for root access.
Well you guys can try to see if you can boot into fastboot and input the command to check if the bootloader is indeed unlockable
Sent from my LG-H820 using XDA-Developers mobile app
well i tried to get into fastboot from the tmobile steps and no go aparently att left out fastboot even with the oem unlock option checked, we only have download mode
If you browse the t-mobile forums you'll see they arent able to flash anything for root/recovery

No, your best bet if you really need root is to sell your ATT LG G5 and purchase an unlocked Tmobile version.. Looks like it will be sometime for the ATT version to gain root

Can someone who's running the US Unlocked firmware tell me what their 3 cscs display as? I got into the One UI 2.0 Beta within 10 hours of it going live, but still no OTA. I wonder if I forgot to wipe after going from Sprint to unlocked. I used the CSC that wipes the phone, but I may have forgotten to wipe after and I'm not sure if I needed to.
My CSC displays as XAS/XAS/ATT. In the past the last CSC displayed as ATT and otas did work (I was on Unlocked at the time)

The android 10/ One UI 2.0 Beta was basically open for registration the first day, and then went away for those who didn't get to it fast enough. Since they're doing a first come first serve thing. Hoping I get the OTA soon

yeah, when youre looking for a device, thats been out for a while, pop into one of its forums man. We all ***** and moan about the crap that happens and sing the songs of praise for the good stuff and wee are all BRUTALLY honest about how we feel about these devices. Dont hesitate to ask man, thats why we are here
it should be getting it very soon. the releases come out in waves. These waves contain IMEIs and they are deployed via the wave to update. Or you could get it from sammobile and flash it yourself. That is the XDA way. Do, or do not. There is no try.

It used to be that every known method of rooting required you to unlock your bootloader to flash custom stuff, which you can't do on U.S. models. But now, they found a workaround without unlocking it to gain root access. Look it up
