I bought it from ebay. The seller is from hong kong. And I'm here in India. I'll then talk to Samsung service center here if they can do anything.

You hopefully should be okay - they can see the approx age by its serial number don't need it's original receipt.

I just had a chat with them and they informed me that the phones don't have international warranty.

Hi all,
I've had my Xperia S for about 3 months now...just went to look at my phone and noticed the yellow tint problem has occurred.
My only problem is that I won my Xperia S from ThreeUK and therefore obviously has no receipts, ThreeUK are not obliged to pay for repairs as it was a prize gift...so do you think Sony will fix it?
Thanks everyone,
Matt
Yes they should fix it since they are aware af this issue.

Thats one of the very first batches, you were pretty much sure to get the tint.
mine is also one of the first units germany has got.. only 3 were there and im so lucky that i dont have the tint *-* get a replacement
Can you please say what was written on the sticker on the box? Something like SI 1257-xxxx
I have just bought one white and has SI 1257-2735.7 and has the tint
They should fix it fine, they fixed my xperia arc cracking issue without receipt. They just look at the manufacturing date of the handset and as long as you're within two years that's enough proof to fix it under warranty and obviously yours will be.
thanks
Hey everyone.
A friend of mine bought an Lcd and screen from eBay but it didn't fit his phone. He got a refund and asked me to look at it. Now... The code on the back of the broken Lcd says it's 2012 the one my friend got was 2011... Where can I get a 2012 from? I have looked but people never even knew there were different years.
Any help woukd be appreciated.
Thanks

Last night I dropped the HOX+ on the driveway screen first. It shattered quite badly.
Today I have submitted it to Telus to send it off for out of warranty repair. I thought about doing it myself but saw videos of having to use adhesive melt stuff etc.
I am just creating this thread to let you all know how much the repair is going to cost for people in the future who do the same thing!
Quoted me $430!!
Was expecting between 200-300.
Any other ideas for getting the screen repaired?
Thanks.

Called them, they use the same company that Telus does in Canada.
EDIT: I found a company in Vancouver that does it for $135. HOpefully the quality is okay.
Just curious, if you haven't yet sent it off, did you break the LCD screen AND the digitizer?
How much is $430 Canadian in USD of GBP?

Yes. Just a small area at the top. Otherwise the screen still displays.

No. The IMEI is specific to a certain phone and can't be changed. Sorry.

Maybe someone has a phone that got wet and wants to replace the main board. You could offer to sell it on Ebay.

The only place you can be sure of is Xiaomi itself. They may not sell it separately so you may have to approach the authorised service center for replacement.
